    Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars certainly doesn't suck as much as vampires do but it can be quite a monotonous game. The moments when you overcome challenges and cover the map are rewarding but they're fleeting and all you're left with is an anemic experience.

    I really enjoyed the tonality and setting, but it’s hard to justify the asking price of $47.99 CAD for a single player only affair, though a decent sale at half price would be more in line with a solid recommendation. Somehow the different gameplay elements do blend together well, making for a very strategic experience, though it will take a lot of trial and error to fully understand it. Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars may not be the most robust strategy game out there, but has a unique setting with an interesting narrative if you’re starved for a new strategy game.

    Average in every respect, and with little to reward or keep you playing, Immortal Realms Vampire Wars is a dull strategy sim, concealed behind an acceptable veneer. When the night is over and sunlight reveals its true form, it’s your will to play that’ll have dried to a husk.

Set in a dark world, where Vampires Rule, you control armies to conquer lands and wage war on your enemies. Vlad Dracul has become vain with power, and the lesser bloodlines are wreaking havoc across the lands. The game features three different campaigns focused on the leaders of Powerful Bloodlines, Dracul, Nosfernus, and Moroia. Each Campaign is currently broken into four chapters that carry you along the conflicts shaping the world. playing Vampire wars is like Risk meets Turn-based Tactics, with an interesting Cardgame like system. The system overall is quite in-depth, and carries quite a few mechanics with it, from how you recruit new units into your armies, to how you handle combat vary drastically. on the world map, you move from region to region and have a selection of action your armies can perform, like claiming a region, or feeding off of a village killing its residents for blood pool, or purchasing items, the actions can also vary depending on the chapter. Some actions, like a victory in combat, grant you cards that can be used during your turn (if you have the blood) to summon troops, heal them, or power up your units. On the battlefield, you start by arranging your troops in a given area, then you and your opponent take turns moving troop in initiative order. There are also cards that you can use in combat, to aid your troops, hinder your opponents, or completely turn the tide of combat. The tutorial mode does an excellent job of explaining all the features and teaching you how to use them. I truly appreciate how fast the units move once given a command, tho overall, like most games that are wars of attrition, it does progress fairly slowly, and combats can take some time, some quite a bit of time. Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars is intense to say the least, and presses the strategic mind to the limits. I enjoyed every minute of every scenario defeats and all. This is an excellent game for those who love wargames, and Turn-Based Strategy!… Full Review »

    Ce machin est un jeu de stratégie en tour par tour à la manière des Heroes of Might & Magic ; il est également disponible sur consoles et sonCe machin est un jeu de stratégie en tour par tour à la manière des Heroes of Might & Magic ; il est également disponible sur consoles et son interface simplette suffit à le contrôler sans difficulté via la manette. Les graphismes sont globalement fort simplets eux aussi et les temps de chargement ne se signalent pas par leur célérité…

    Mais si les commandes sont simples, la présentation laisse à désirer et la visibilité sur les champs de bataille est très perfectible, à tel point qu’on confond souvent ses unités avec celles de l’ennemi…! A noter que le didacticiel est buggué et/ou reste si peu informatif qu’il ne sert strictement à rien : on le quitte rapidement.

    On quitte un peu moins rapidement le jeu principal lui-même mais on le quitte néanmoins sans regret. La première mission vous impose d’aller combattre une armée toujours deux fois plus forte que la vôtre… or, les combats annexes que l’on peut livrer impliquent des pertes que l’on comble à peine avec des cartes de recrutement… et le recrutement directement dans les villages a été désactivé sur cette mission ! résultat, on reste toujours en deçà de la force de l’ennemi et la zone est vite explorée…

    Donc, en résumé, cette grosse daube casse les couilles dès la première mission ! c’est putain de n’importe quoi… Alors, va voir dans la poubelle si j’y suis, elle va s’occuper de ton cas, sale jeu de merde !!    … Full Review »
