With many, many sharks to unlock, a variety of different cosmetic items to unlock and buy, and four large worlds to explore, there’s a lot to go at here. It has an appealing graphical style, with each shark having a distinct look and personality, and the enemies being a varied bunch. If I'm being brutally honest, Hungry Shark World on Xbox One isn't the deepest game you'll ever play, but there is a great deal of fun to be had and eating anything that moves never gets old.

They aren’t howevermobile game’s serve a great purpose and that purpose is to deliver a few minutes of entertainment when you’re bored. They aren’t however game’s that can be enjoyed for long periods because they just don’t have enough depth to them and this is the main reason why I dread mobile game’s coming to consoles. Hungry Shark World the latest mobile game making its way to the Xbox One is not the worst mobile game I’ve ever played before but in the end it just has too many shortcomings which ultimately hold it back. That being said it does get some things right and I must admit that I was impressed with the controls that have been implemented. The reason why I was so impressed with the controls is because they feel smooth and responsive, which is rare when it comes to a game that was first introduced onto mobile devices. The gameplay on the whole is pretty fun at first but I’ll warn you now if you play for long periods you will become bored quite quickly. If you play for long periods you’ll also notice that the game lacks in terms of content as well and I must admit that I was a little bit surprised when it came to the price of the game, because in my opinion it is a little bit too steep. They do however combat the game’s price though and they do this by not having any micro transactions present, which in my opinion is a very good move because it will make gamers want to carry on with the game. On mobile I remember that I didn’t want to carry on with the game due to the micro transactions but I also didn’t want to carry on because it didn’t have any missions either. Thankfully there are some missions in this version of the game and whilst they lack in terms of variety and they can be a little repetetive it still gives the game a little bit in terms of replayability. Despite the little bit of replayability present the game will still frustrate you because the loading times seem to go on forever and this can make you lose interest quite quickly. One of my favourite things about the game was the presentation side of things. Don’t get me wrong it isn’t anything amazing but I think both the visuals and sound design have a nice bit of charm included in them and in a way they do make the gameplay a little more fun. At the end of the day I can’t fully recommend Hungry Shark World because it just doesn’t have enough of a pull to keep you occupied for any great length of time and the fun it does deliver to you is quickly forgotten due to the game’s imperfections. It's worth a go though if it's your type of game genre. Expand

Graphics are passable for this type of game (mobile). Sound is serviceable. Good pick up and play in short bursts. The lack of direction can sometimes make you feel your goals are unclear, until you get a handle of the gameplay loop. For a low purchase price I do not regret picking this one up.
