I love the Hitman series, but this game is the first Hitman I'm not impressed with. I'm not trying to say it's a complete disaster but it's a huge disappointment and you should put your $60 towards something else and wait until the price drops a lot or rent it. It's more of a downgrade spinning off Hitman 2016. Not much of it is different from the last one either. It's more of a downgrade spinning off Hitman 2016. Not much of it is different from the last one either. Graphically in a lot of areas it looks worse than it's predecessor. I know it's only been two years, but damn! You guys couldn't have improve the lighting, textures, characters models, colors, etc.? But instead they only had time to enhanced the resolution to 4K. Wow... It's 2018 and some gaming industries still don't understand that high resolution isn't the only thing needed to make a game look good. The cut scenes are so dated! I mean seriously pictures only? No motion at all in the cut scenes in between missions. What the **** is this 1996? OK, enough talking about graphics, because that doesn't matter as much as the gameplay. The assassination are still great and it's cool that there are still a ton of opportunities to make missions more fun, easier and replay-able. The levels are huge and detailed as usual and there's a lot to going on in them. However there are flaws. The NPC's AI is just stupid. You can easily run pass them, or run away from them when detected and if they don't get a good look at you they won't report it. If you're hidden and shoot the target you're after and they normally don't go into high alert. There's a lot of flaw in Hitman 2's enemy and AI system. The game has a few glitches and some of them are pretty annoying. To list two sometimes NPCs will stop talking and that often results in them not getting the things done they're suppose to in revealed opportunities. Sometimes the game will load for really long time or never load at all. Come on polish your **** Hitman 2 is a game that had so much potential. But sadly the Warner Bros. Interactive entertainment wanted a quick cash grab, so they obviously rushed it. They should've waited 1-2 more years to release it, that way the designers and programmers could've done their jobs correctly. The only things the game improves upon is having better accent that fit the country that you're in level by level and all levels our open this time. It even includes episodes from Hitman 2016. But other than that there really isn't anything worthy to look into. Expand

Hitman 2 isn't just faithful to the original, it's practically the same game. It literally includes the same tutorial missions. A lack of innovation isn't necessarily a criticism however. You wouldn't dare touch what's perfect, but sadly, the formula regurgitated here isn't exactly perfect. Good, but not perfect.

I am especially intrigued as to why the narrative is directed towards the origin of Mr Hitman, who's entire gimmick is that he has no character. He's just a robot that wears various different human skins, all the while appearing as human as a shoe. Once you delve into his past, he sort of loses all he has that makes him interesting, that being his mystique.

Importantly though, the gameplay is solid. There aren't many similarly satisfying moments as executing the perfect assassination in Hitman. Patience is awarded brilliantly. Nonetheless, I do have many minor criticisms with the gameplay; any form of traversal feels as laboured as a PS2 game, almost every situation can be resolved by just throwing a series of coins, and the AI isn't as dynamic as i'd expect for a series as long in the tooth as Hitman now is. The groans of a victim you take down can often be louder than anything in a room, but nobody ever seems to notice. I shoot my "silenced" pistol, and it seems guards from a room away will hurry towards me. Lastly, the game only seems to autosave arbitrarily, rather than at important moments.

It can be frustrating, but if you have a great deal of patience, it can also be a really rewarding game. Despite the lack of innovation, the new maps are varied and designed well enough to offer enough content to just about warrant the attachment of a "2".

Basically more of the same of Hitman 1 of 2016 with slightly changed UI, and new Maps. its more a map pack DLC. The cutscenes with no facial animations are dissapointing, looks like the facial animator was fired or there was no more budget. But it was fun. The level design, the characters, sandboxing, and sound design is done right.

There’s some good ideas for new story for agent 47 and his past but I still don’t get it the reason why he’s working with the real enemy subject 6 and in the end of the game I was confused l,the gameplay is the same I think so HITMAN 3 here I come.

Hitman 2 might just be one of the best games I’ve played this year, and it was a pleasant surprise given I did not know what I was getting myself into going into this review! While it’s not without its faults, as the narrative cutscenes were disappointing, it can be a bit overwhelming to those new to the series, and some of the controls need improvement, the overall experience is fantastic. With great stealth gameplay, amazingly creative ways to eliminate your target, incredibly immersive environments, and high replay value, these elements make this a must play for both newcomers to the series and for longtime fans of the elusive Agent 47.

It’s a strange thing to find yourself smiling so much while playing a game that has you carrying out a series of grisly murders, but that’s exactly what Hitman 2 does. Whether you’re disguising yourself as a cupcake salesman to get close to a target, or spending an hour to make someone’s death look like an accident, Hitman 2 is the best stealth action game of the year.

The new game of IO Interactive, this time partnering with warner is a great game, with superb stealth mechanics that rewards planning over direct action, and in a refreshing way.
