All the same, this game has one special achievement. This is by far the worst twin-stick shooter I've ever played. The developers have done a good job of giving a similar experience to players, in particular fans of the Halo franchise.

There are three key points that greatly spoil the impression of the game. The first is the inability to play local co-op, only multiplayer. Secondly, it is a donation system for buying weapons. And thirdly - the company is very weak, the levels are short and uninteresting.

Conclusion - This game is a failed spin-off, for me. I don’t know who came up with the idea to make a sequel after that, but it remained in oblivion on mobile platforms, where such rubbish is the place. Glory to Ukraine!

I think this game is criminally underrated. It's pure action in the Halo world yet feels fresh with the top down perspective. It still looks nice in 2021 with Xbox Game Pass on Xbox Series X/S. You can also beat it in a weekend - it's a nice break from other heavier games.

Well, this was originally a mobile phone game, so we cannot ask for more. It is fun, and the micro transactions is not needed to beat the game

The game that ruined the perfection of the Halo saga. Spartan Assault has poor graphics, poor gameplay and very little variety. other than that the game takes a break. Just terrible.

There is nothing specifically wrong with this came, it was nice to play but overall it does not feel like a full game. Local co-op is missing which would have gives extra hours to the lifecycle. Also the given multiplayer is just quick add-on.

Halo: Spartan Assault for Xbox One is a good game but no great game so just keep this in mind if you're overly optimistic towards fresh games. From a graphics standpoint; it's gorgeously molded into form, albeit not too graphically demanding as it is a top-down TPS but still beautiful...

The main campaign is pretty good but can also be annoying at times because there are zero mid-game saves/checkpoints so it's either successfully complete the entire missions or fail them completely and rinse and repeat (I assumed this would be a feature for a top-down third person halo shooter but maybe that's just me!).

Overall, the pros outnumber the cons (yes, there are a few cons) and in my honest opinion, Halo: Spartan Assault is deserving of a higher Meta/User score. Possibly most consumers rushed out and purchased Spartan Assault simply because of the 'Halo' at the start of the name and did not research how the game plays prior to the obtaining. I guess we'll never know. Do your research before you buy!

I bought this game to play co-op. I was fooled. (1) There's no co-op campaign, weirdly, just a handful of cheap, short co-op missions. Halo: Spartan Assault is a fun game to play. However, that is about all that is good about it. The gameplay is clunky, and the lack of checkpoints makes the game more unforgiving. These issues aside, the game is fun to play in short bursts.

I don't believe this game gets the credit it deserves. It is an enjoyable game as long as you don't expect too much from it. The game has 30 Campaign missions that take about 5-10 minutes each. What is this game, why is it on Xbox one? I was told it had a retro feel...the stick and hoop game is retro, and about a hundred times more fun. This is just a pile of garbage. Actually it would be more fun to have pile of garbage, maybe I could find a used can.

This is a game that lacks enough variety to justify the £12.99 I paid for it (prior to Games with Gold). It is still a fun game that is good enough when played 15 minutes at a time but I feel that there is nothing about it that really makes it great, but get it while it's free and you'll probably enjoy yourself.

Very bad game, definitely felt like a tablet game on a console. All the levels are very short and only about 5 missions per segment. What's worse is that it was even a bad tablet game. Only thing I kinda liked about it was the co-op flood missions. Would suggest avoiding it

For free with Gold, this game is a fun, good looking overhead shooter with a nice Halo twist. It doesn't do the halo series justice, but it is solid for free. The controls, guns, and enemies are pretty average. The setting and music set barely over the bar of mediocrity. I wouldn't pay much for this game, but it's definitely worth well over $0 if you have Gold this June.

It is a top down shooter with a true Halo feel. If you have it on a Microsoft phone or tablet they cross save automatically which is sweet. I think that for what it is ( a top down shooter) it's not bad at all. Don't expect anything amazing as far as story or cinematics but if you like top down shooters it is worth a pick up especially on sale or if you already own it on a Windows device.

I got this game as my friend asked me to join him in Co-op. At first I found it just a basic dual analog shooter and thought I wouldn't enjoy it much, but after 2 hours or so I was hooked. I can not put it down.

The game is great fun in co-op (but I would have liked to seen more maps) and offline story is alot longer than I would expect and its a very enjoyable xp grind game.

The guns feel fun, and there's an abundance of power when you're using the rocket launcher or spartan laser. It's graphically competent, and there's a story in there, but it's not one of much depth or intrigue. It nails the Halo atmosphere, but at the end of the day, once you beat it, you won't want to come back to it unless you're a Halo fanatic or you want every achievement.
