    If this game was made by Naughty Dog, story would be horrible, Weapon would kill Master Chief in first hour or so and this big bad guy would win. Thankfully it's made by 343 and story and characters are great, beautiful graphics, amazing soundtrack and fun gameplay!

As with 343's previous installments, Infinite is lacking in the majesty Bungie wove into the fabric of the franchise in its halcyon days. I get it, it's been very nearly a decade since the acquisition. 343's Halo isn't for everyone. I just wish they'd settle on a tone, or direction. Hell,Acceptable proof-of-concept of an open-world Halo game, but overall feels half-baked and uninspired.     To rank Halo Infinite among its peers in the series is a tough thing to do seeing as how different it is. This could be 343's best effort yet. The core gameplay itself is excellent, especially the grapple hook mechanic. The campaign is in equal measure substancial, challenging and satisfying, despite being unable to replay story missions in its new open world format. The multiplayer isTo rank Halo Infinite among its peers in the series is a tough thing to do seeing as how different it is. This could be 343's best effort yet. The core gameplay itself is excellent, especially the grapple hook mechanic. The campaign is in equal measure substancial, challenging and satisfying, despite being unable to replay story missions in its new open world format. The multiplayer is well varied in modes but dealing with lag, cheaters and progression weighs it down. Ultimately, without the campaign's co-op and multiplayer's forge, it's pretty clear that this game launched incomplete. It's further hurt by the fact that half of the game is free to begin with, and the other half is a full $60, giving less of an incentive to actually buy it. This is one of many reasons why Game Pass is such a blessing to have.… Expand

    How far this series has fallen. This isn't Halo, its a woke mess. The devs have focused on social politics instead of making an entertaining game. It looks and plays very sluggishly. Rather go back and play the previous entries in the series.

    Another disappointment from 343 no campaign co-op an Xbox exclusive with mtx bullet sponge bosses no split screen Microsoft need to do better and so do 343 the greed from Microsoft is ridiculous and we should be expecting more of this the recent acquisitions are company's that push mtx it's discussing that such abig company treats there customers this way

    Only very minor lag when there is a lot of enemies, for the people saying it looks bad you do realise this an open world game runnimy almost perfectly on base xbox one hardware?

    The story is also pretty good, very engaging, and the open world machanics have yet to get old.

    Overall 9/10.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Very very fun game, great combat loop. Art style is amazing, and the open world is awesome. One complaint is that on Xbox One S, some graphics are less than stellar, especially up close and when depth of field was used in cinematics.

    Overall, very very good. Heroic felt almost perfect for me. It was very difficult at times, but it usually didn't cause me to get stuck at a spot for no reason. Oftentimes, when I died, it was because I used a less than ideal weapon or strategy.    … Expand

    The gameplay loop is addictive and fantastic. I found out quickly that I'm no good with FPS games, especially with a controller, but I had loads of fun. The story isn't Shakespeare, but it's a fun action-adventure romp with some serious moments that ground Master Chief. There seems to be a group effort from social media Sony fans to review bomb this game, which shows up more on the XboxThe gameplay loop is addictive and fantastic.     Very good campaign multiplayer is lacking some traditional halo content but the devs are working on it and I have faith that they add tons of content for years.

So when Halo Infinite was announced at the E3 2018, it's fair to say that the fans couldn't stand still! After a first failed gameplayHalo Infinite! Who has never heard of this cult series whose first opus was released on November 15, 2001 on the first Xbox of Microsoft? Its hero, the Spartan John-117 is actually cited among the greatest video game characters aka Master Chief. So when Halo Infinite was announced at the E3 2018, it's fair to say that the fans couldn't stand still! After a first failed gameplay presentation on July 23, 2020 at the Xbox Games Showcase (mostly because of the quality of graphics) 343 Industries announced the postponement of the game for 2021. Since then, the studio has been joined by others such as the Canadians from SkyBox Labs, the Californians from Sperasoft, and the Texas studio Certain Affinity, which is involved in the multiplayer part of the title. But let's stop talking about it, because it's time for the verdict on Halo Infinite! One thing is certain: Halo Infinite is off to a great start! The long introduction of the game (that is to say before you find yourself on the surface of the ring) is indeed quite intense and is full of action and epic scenes. Our first steps with the Major make our mouths water and also allow us to set the story, which takes place six months after the events of Halo 5. Right from the start, Master Chief is beaten (yes, you read that right!) to a pulp by a particularly strong Brute leader aboard the UNSC Infinity. The Major is blown into space and drifts for a while, until a Pelican piloted by a lost Infinity crew member picks up his signal and saves him. With only his courage, and the help of a new AI, 117 will go to the nearby Halo Zeta to defeat the Pariahs, a rebel faction already seen in Halo Wars. A mission that seems to hide another one since Cortana (the old AI that accompanied the Major during all his past adventures) seems to speak about her in different ways and seems to hold a rather important role in the story. And then what is this new threat that seems to surpass that of the parasite? Coming closer to the first opus and to the original vision of Bungie's Halo, this new episode is thought as a "new first Halo" according to the words of creative director Joseph Staten. And the least we can say is that this is really felt in game. The impression of being faced with a revisited Halo: Combat Evolved is strong, and the fans of the first hour will undoubtedly be over the moon! However, Halo Infinite does not forget that we are in 2021, because it brings with it a fluid gameplay and a new useful equipment: the grapple launcher. If during the first presentation we had doubts about the relevance of such an object in a Halo, we must admit that these doubts are swept away. Even better, the Spartan can hang on with this grappling hook almost anywhere, giving the adventure an exhilarating and welcome feeling of freedom in the series. Enjoying a handling at the limit of perfection, the player takes very easily in hand our hero and manages to quickly chain the moments of bravery, by catapulting himself for example in height to play the sniper or by catching explosive coils that he can send on enemies. A grappling hook can also be used to grab opponents to come and put a good shot between their teeth! The artificial intelligence is also very well worked out, with clever enemies who don't hesitate to go around you or to shoot an explosive coil near you! In short, we won't beat around the bush, the gameplay of Halo Infinite is a success and largely surpasses that of all the other episodes. With its map divided into three large areas, this Halo is an open-world game. In the field, the Major will have main and secondary mission objectives. However, don't expect a wide variety of secondary objectives. As in most open-world games, they are indeed quite classic and consist in capturing bases, saving allies, destroying towers or killing priority targets. However, the studio manages to make everything more dynamic and to integrate a new system that rewards the player for completing objectives: bravery points. The more points you have, the more powerful vehicles you can use in the bases, the better equipped marines you can count on and the more powerful weapons you can use. Wait, what are you still doing here? This game is the game we've all been waiting for check it out on gamepass or buy it if you are like me and have to catch 'em all like Pokemon! The only way you're going to be disappointed with this is if you never liked halo or are trying to find a reason to not enjoy yourself. Brilliant, biggest campaign to date by far!… Expand

    Bunch of Sony fan boys complaining a campaign they have never even played. This has been the best Halo campaign I had played in years. Who cares anyway. Metacritic has lost credibility. They are Play$tation exclusive anyway

    good game but I feel detail could have been better for the amount of time put into this game. It’s no where near compared to Sony competitors, but I guess that’s because Sony buys up all the talent. Other than that the gun game is fun and story is ok.

    I love the Halo series but have never been a fan of it. In Russia, this series of games has never been cult like the xbox console. But with the release of the Master Chief collection on steam, our player was finally able to appreciate this franchise.

    Very good, it turns out the old-school gameplay is not only relevant in 2021, but also capable of surprising and surpassing the competition.
    Excellent balance and measured gameplay emphasize the competitive spirit of playing on an equal footing between opponents. And most importantly, it is perfectly optimized, does not have critical bugs, and those that do make you smile.
    I advise everyone who is not happy with the dynamics, the rules of this multiplayer and the lack of a huge number of microtransactions to go to other projects.
    Hopefully the team will continue to improve the multiplayer.

    Also good but there are problems. It's interesting to watch the plot until the end, but at the end nothing global happens.
    The open world resembles the world of Metro Exodus and this is good, for some reason, many disaffected people expected an open world like in Far cry, but at the same time they do not like Far cry ...
    Due to the open world, the core of the Halo gameplay has received additional depth, now you yourself create the staged moments, and not as scripts did in the hallway gameplay of the old parts before.
    The graphics are not new generation since the game was released on the old and new generation of xbox consoles.
    The graphics are minimalistic, but everything is very detailed and pleasing to the eye. Works great on all xbox one and series consoles.
    The game is available in the gamee pass so anyone can try it out)

    I played it on xbox one x console and everything looks and works fine.
    This is the best thing in the series since halo reach.

    Ignore the bad review spam, a grew of halo haters got together and decided to hate on this together.

    The open world is very impressive and has 5-6 things to at any time makeing it way less repetative than most open world games. The bosses feel fairly intellegent and some have some cool moves, they are a little to healthy but far less than in say zelda or mario or god of war.     For the base model xbox one this runs shockingly smooth, but doesnt look as good as halo 5, ehich is probably becuase of the open world.

    Over all, the guns feel good, the punchijg feels snaply, the enemies are funny, and the story is engaging.

    The disc don´t actually contain the game so it´s impossible to install offline.
    There's no REAL physical copy. There´s actually a digital copy with a physical download key and that's just unacceptable for single player game.
