    Halo 5 Guardians, was a disappointing game, and is the worst Halo game. Half of the the game was good, half of it was really bad. The campaign felt very rushed, and was bad. The story basically had to make you rely off of the books in order to enjoy it, which even then, the dialogue of that is rushed as well. The art style was very bad compared to the other Halo games. The multiplayer was alright, but at the end of the day middle of the row for games in general, and very much made for only competitive players. Warzone Firefight had some good ideas of killing Covenant bosses, however it was basically ruinied by pay to win, because the progression system in this game was very bad. Getting a Gold Req pack took WAAAYY to long, and as a result, people were more incentivized to just buy req packs, so that they can get good stuff quicker, and some people do not have that money. Forge Mode and the addition of Custom Browser was really well done, and was the best part of this game. It really allowed for people to be very creative, and it was fantastic. And the best part was that you could search for these really cool maps and modes through custom browser. Overall, this game is extremely middle of the road. Depending on what you do, it can be either a fun time, or really boring, and feel like there was no incentive to play the game.… Expand

    This game was heavily criticized for not being from BUNGIE but 343 did an excellent job. The online game is fantastic, war zone is the best.

A change in direction in multiplayer was sorely needed after Halo 4, and this new direction could've been the future of the franchise if it didn't launch when everybody was getting sick of movement shooters. The multiplayer's content was abysmal at launch and only was in acceptable state post-launch. The campaign was horrible in every way, it's funny how HaloThis game is like alright.     It diverted a lot from how a Halo game should be. The unlock system was atrocious and the game was overly modernized. However, I still believe Halo 5 is underrated and it accounts for a majority of my fond adolescent gaming memories. It's no Halo 3 or Halo Reach, but it's still a gem.

    O jogo decepciona muito aos fãs da franquia, a história não chama atenção e o protagonista não tem o mesmo peso do master chief, o multiplayer é bom mas é desbalanceado e as novas mecânicas de gameplay são muito estranhas e pra mim não agradaram. Apesar de tudo ainda rende umas poucas horas de diversão no começo.

    Après y avoir joué pendant des années, Halo 5 a était un des meilleurs Halo en multijoueur, un nouveau système de gameplay, bien nerveux comme ont aime,

    La campagne.... Elle était bien, malgré que le major n'était pas assez m'y en valeur, mais bien content d'avoir retrouvé le même système qu'avait Halo 2 avec deux personnages différents.

    I enjoyed this game. Sure, the story was not very good, in fact, it was bad, but the rest of the game was pretty good in my opinion. The multiplayer, forge, and custom game selections are great.

This company is incompetent and has tarnished the Halo franchise with botched launches, terrible stories, and just overall rubbish games. After Halo 4, the Halo community expressed frustration with 343, but also optimism that they made some mistakes, but that going forward things would be better.     What a masterpiece! Industry defining. Halo 5 is one of the most gorgeous and well thought out games that I have played. The missions are designed to perfection. The multiplayer is innovative and exciting. Warzone is fresh. The ost was great!

    The story is terrible, the new mechanics are just boring, and many of the new weapons and vehicles miss the mark. While the multiplayer is solid enough, 343 is simply incapable of creating a campaign close to being as good as the Bungie games.

    My overall honest opinion is that Halo 5, and all of 343 halo games are extremely overhated. The story in Halo 5 was good, it was just executed poorly. But the overall gameplay experience was great. The mulitplayer was honestly amazing and I still find myself going back to it even today.

This game not only has the worst multiplayer in halo history, but is also a narrative disaster for the series as a whole.     This game is quite a disappointment, I went back to it years later and it made the experience feel worse. The game has such a boring story and I hate that you always have to get revived by the 3 bots that approach ever so slowly to revive you, the player can't decide what pace they want to go at and overall makes the gameplay slow and frustrating. Taking out brutes gives enemies less variety. The art style is not good but I didn't hate it. The best mission is probably swords of sanghelious.     Lo único malo a mi parecer de este juego es su guión de la historia, rompe por completo lo establecido en la franquicia y no es nada emocionante jugarla, en cambio, el multijugador y la movilidad de juego son excelentes.

    J'ai fait toutes la série des Halo et celui-ci est mon préféré.
    Les graphismes sont magnifiques, l'ambiance est géniale et la bande sonore de qualité.
    Le jeu est super bien optimiser, jamais eus de bug.
    Le gameplay et l'un des meilleurs de la série.
    Je l'ai refait plusieurs fois et je ne m'en lasse pas.

From microtransactions to a flawed storyline. Halo 5 failed in so many regards, despite me sinking hundreds of hours into it. I miss old Halo, and I genuinely didn't think I would be saying that because of Halo Infinite, but even thatI fell in love with the multiplayer, but even that is flawed.     The game is decent. With a story campaign that mostly revolves around Locke, Master Chief becomes less relevant.. In all of the past games, besides ODST and Reach, the story revolves around Chief. The gunplay feels okay, but they don't feel beefy and strong like the guns in previous games.

The story is all fluff no substance with tons of shock and awe to no real affect. 90% of the characters are wasted or made worse than they were in the previous game like blue team who feel more like set pieces around chief than his actual friends. Weapons feel like they have no power and enemies all feel very much the same and uninspired in this game. The level design is the only thing in this game that is cool and fun to look at. I would recommend skipping this games campaign you aren't missing anything. :(… Expand

Campaign may be a little short and end up a little anti-climactic, but it's still good enough to keep you interested and looking forward to the sequel.

    But God bless her, with a miserable company, the multiplayer is currently empty. In a regular rotation, no one plays the infection mode or the team siesta of large teams, for some reason the rating system is divided into many modes, of which ten-play only the most boring massacre. And the cherry on this slop cake is the conflict zone. No one plays in this mode, there are simply no players.

    This is a big disappointment, and 97 gigs were completely wasted. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone these days. Glory to Ukraine!    … Expand

    the story while entreteining kinda trash but this is the best multiplayer by far. The forge in this game is amazing, The modes the people have made and the creative freedom the game lets you do make this game the most fun in my opinion

    I mean don't get me wrong it is a halo game and they are really good but this one it's boring. but it is fun though, it has good graphics and there are lots of Easter eggs but the same time i haven't really finished it.     The history continues very good, we have a new enemy, (the eternal warden), a enemy worthy of the master chief, a lot of plot twist very good, a short game if you play in the normal difficulty you can end it in 1 day, but is an amazing game

    Only good thing for awhile is multiplayer. Campaign was horrible, it took me years to finish it, not because it was challenging, but because it was so bad I didn't want to play. They changed a lot of gameplay into what feels like another game entirely.

    I really didn't like Halo 5 when it first came out and coming back to it now I can say that I at least like it more then Halo 4. Like tell me what Tanka's role is in the game or something about her personality you cant because she and most of the team members in the game are boring and provide nothing to the plot. Other then Buck I do love Buck but that's because we've seen him before in another game and already saw his character before hand. Anyway like I said the plot is all over the place and while theirs a lot of interesting narrative ideas they are executed poorly and I would say the plot is certainly a step down from 4 which also had a a lot of interesting ideas but handled them poorly. Where the game does improve significantly from 4 is the gameplay while still no where on the same level as the older Halo games the gun play is much more fun to play even if it doesn't feel very Halo in its mechanics. Some things I don't mind like sprinting and aiming down sights these were gonna come sooner r later to the series I feel. But the ground pound and boost stuff are just kind of weird and also make the backs of Spartans all ugly because they all need this jet booster thing now. I guess this is a good enough time as any to say that much like Halo 4 I don't like the art style of this game but I do think it looks a bit better then 4. But the covenant still look ugly in this one just a little bit less so. When it comes to enemy AI they seem a bit better but still no where to the level of the old Halo games. But at the very least the Prometheans are a lot more fun to fight. You still fight them more then I would like but the class they have is better to fight and I like that they made the big knight's into a heavy class. Overall the gun paly is smoother and the overall gameplay is better then Halo 4 which is the most important factor for me. While the plot is a mess that the game doesn't like to explain all that well and levels you with a cliff hanger the game play makes it up enough for me that I can say Halo 5 is fine. Because while the campaign is lack luster the multiplayer is a big step up from 4 and on its own can b a lot of fun to play.… Expand

    I’m not a Halo fan and that’s good, because I can evaluate the game without being biased. Basically Halo is some sort of compilation of ideas from other games: Appearance of Master Chief was inspired by Doomguy; locations are very similar with ones from Unreal Tournament; gameplay is also quite similar to UT series and to COD as well.
    Some of the locations also was inspired by recently released games.
    But the problem of Halo that everything in this game is made worse than in the analogs. Weapons design probably the most boring I’ve ever seen in any FPS game. Location design is primitive, character design… well, no comments, I thought it should be aliens, not monkeys. Storytelling… well, even Quake 4 did it better days ago.

    I’m a huge fan of FPS games since 1995, but this game is mediocre in all ways.
    The closest feelings from this game is feelings playing Pariah (2005), same boring experience.

    Great story, and gameplay, builds quite well on Halo 4 but lacks pacing, characters, and mostly, WHY IS MASTER CHIEF A SIDE CHARACTER?!?!

However, the multiplayer is quite possibly one of the best shooter experiences you can have, with tight gunplay, beautiful graphics and smooth movement. The movement allows you to move in so many ways and adds a separate layer of strategy and thought. BUT, the war zone mode is blatantly pay to win and requires you to open loot boxes in order to gain vehicles, guns, etc. Thankfully, the loot boxes can be earned through gameplay, but it takes a while. This game is the the epitome of C+ as a grade, with Lack luster customization, awful story, great core gameplay, and a amazing multiplayer.

    This could’ve been one of the best, but if the story was better, and those pesky loot boxes were removed, it would be an 8-9.

    The narrative is the weakest the series has ever seen. It felt all over the place and the sense of urgency and seriousness it was trying to transmit to the player fell flat on its head. The designs of some of the characters are very bad, particularly on the Elite enemies, who look extremely bulky, instead of the slick appearance they used to have, and on one of your companions throughout the story whose armor coating looks like bubble gum. The companions were all forgettable and it continues the trend of the player having to rely on outside material to fully grasp what's going on and who certain characters are. The dialogue is also tedious to sit through.

    By far, the most disappointing Halo experience that, if it weren't for its gameplay and graphics would have been a tedious drag. It feels like all the creativity from Halo 4 was somehow lost and traded for a more generic action movie plot.    … Expand

    the Halo series is based around master chief but in halo's 5 campaign you only get to play as him for 3 missions . then that added the others that follow you around and shout random things . the multiplayer was 343's main focus to get their players to play for all of the loot box type systems, the multiplayer is not all that fun if you don't play with friends.

    I don't think this is as bad as some hardcore Halo fans claim, but it is without a doubt the worst campaign in the series. But it does have it's moments, and the ai is at least decent. Multiplayer is pretty good too

Sem dúvidas um dos Halos mais fracos quando se fala de história, destrói tudo que foi construído no 4, parece que se arrependeram da morte da Cortana e deram uma desculpa esfarrapada para sua volta, além de ter a personalidade totalmente diferente da Cortana carinhosa e caridosa do 4. É legal ver um pouco da Blue Team, mas a outra (eu realmente não lembro o nome) MEU DEUS... só gente chata, o Buck carrega aquela galera toda nas costas, e dividir o protagonismo do Chief com o Locke é a coisa mais tosca que eu já vi, personagem totalmente sem carisma e CHATO...
    MAS nem tudo é ruim, a gameplay é muito fluída e fácil de de jogar, e isso realmente é um ponto positivo, no entanto a 343 teve que sacrificar um de seus maiores diferenciais fazendo com que seu jogo se torne mais um COD futurista.    … Expand

Я прикоснулся к Легенде в первый раз где-то год назад, и то была первая часть Halo: Combat Evolved. Даже в прилизанном и облагороженном на сегодняшний день виде всё же сильно ощущается, что игра к нам пришла из далекого 2001 года. Я не из сентиментальных, и как человек, избалованный масштабными красочными мирами и новомодными сверхудобными механиками современного поколения игр, первенца Хало не воспринял и быстро бросил. Думали вникнуть по серьезному в эту серию, начиная с Halo 4 — первой, которая получила полную отечественную озвучку и которая уже более-менее вписывалась в наши игровые стандарты, однако ее как назло майки продают нынче только в составе The Master Chief Collection. Поэтому стартовали мы плотное знакомство с Halo с пятой части. Первое что приходит на ум в самом начале погружения в Guardians так это то, что человеку не знакомому с лором Halo будет не очень просто воткнуться в происходящее, контекста очевидно сильно не хватает. Это примерно как начать смотреть какой-нибудь фильм где-то с середины и в случае с Halo 5 не досмотреть его до конца, так как очевидно что грядущий Infinite будет продолжением внезапно оборвавшейся истории Guardians. В любом случае с чистого листа происходящие в Halo 5 события не оставили равнодушным. Катсцены в игре отлично срежиссированы и впечатляюще смотрятся, яркие харизматичные персонажи, сыгранные реальными актерами и нарисованные ребятами из 343 Industries вызывают неподдельный интерес. Играем мы поочередно за лидеров Синей и Желтой команды спартанцев Джеймсона Локка и соответственно за главную легенду серии Мастера Чифа с видом от первого лица. Посмотреть в Halo 5 есть на что ибо миры и обстановка, в которых мы побываем реализованы отлично, голова кругом идёт от глубоких и насыщенных космических просторов и неведомых планет. К механикам движения, стрельбы наших спартанцев также никаких претензий нет, всё ощущается плавно, и нацелено на то, чтобы расслабиться и кайфовать от происходящего. Хотя моей благоверной хотелось чуть большей подвижности персонажа. Как мне кажется некая небольшая неуклюжесть наших спартанцев связана с нехилой такой броней, которую они на себе носят. Впрочем, я не ощущал недостатка в движении + для толчка у нас присутствует небольшое реактивное ускорение с места. Очень порадовал оружейный арсенал, сделанный в футуристическом ключе в самых причудливых и замысловатых формах. Честное слово даже и сравнить не с чем, очень круто всё выглядит и почти всё хорошо ощущается.… Expand

The only good thing to me would be the weapons, since they are all very well balanced, in previous games I kept using precision weapons because close encounters was almost never a good idea. But here I feel safe using a shotgun or smg, but that would really be the only good thing about the campaign to me.

    The multiplayer is mediocre. It focuses too much on competitive, and at launch it was bare bones. The lack of split-screen is unacceptable and was a terrible decision. Warzone has loot boxes and is pay-to-win, which absolutely sucks. At least the forge is pretty good, since it doesn't limit creativity unlike previous games.    … Expand

    It was good. It was a big gamble to not have Master Chief as the only protagonist in the game and over all I think that was a mistake. I truly believe that had this game been named anything else, like Halo 3:ODST was, then it would have been better received. With that being said, gameplay was good and graphics were as well.

The reason behind this decision is most likely greed to either sell new merchandise based on the new characters or to stop paying any form of previous royalty if any, nothing else can excuse the way the titular character Master Chief was sided.

    What could had been an impressive visual direction was soiled by unnecessary lightning effects and flares that make the game look like an eyesore at all times. Prepare to use sunglasses if you ever play this abomination.

    The story is stupid to say the least, previous characters are handled poorly to give new characters a chance to shine but that chance is wasted as all new characters are unappealing and lack the charisma to carry on the plot. Mercifully, you can sprint for most of these levels, sadly over 80% of the game is about these new reprehensible characters.

    Every character, enemy and NPC is over designed to the point they are unrecognizable which is a huge mistake in a FPS. Prepare to confuse enemies a lot.

    The music pales in comparison to Martin O’Donnell original score for the franchise but still the only saving grace of this game.

    The multiplayer modes are heavily monetized and the game insist on a pay to win model on top of the price of entry which is unforgivable for any game and a larger insult for a franchise like Halo. I sincerely feel sorry for anyone who pre-ordered this game.

    While the game is on itself competent, if it was an original entry on a new franchise I would say the game is mediocre at best but as a new Halo entry or even worse a system seller, Halo 5 is a grievance.

There was always breathing room in fights & yeah you could say it’s been on this trajectory steadily with each game but idk, seems like they went all in on this fast paced upgrade to the shooting. I played all 5 main Halo games back to back so maybe I’m just getting whiplash from that, but the controls are changed almost entirely from previous entries & despite there being an option for the Halo 4 control scheme (which was already different from the trilogy, this new scheme is similar to it but not entirely the same) It was a big adjustment to say the least. It was a very fun experience don’t get me wrong, I had more fun playing Halo 5 then I did Halo 1 & 4 but at least those had more interesting stories to go alongside the slower and “tougher” gameplay. But fast paced shooting isn’t what I come to Halo for, which is one of the most disappointing aspects of Halo 5 for me. A problem I had with Halo 4 was a feeling of genericness which PERMEATES Halo 5 to its core, it feels more like every other futuristic shooter on the market right now (& in 2015 when it came out) & that’s not a good thing. Halo is a unique IP and I wish they didn’t try to conform to the norms despite some quality of life improvements. I appreciate how they tried to integrate Halo 5 into the series at large, something Halo 4 tried too hard to stray from in my opinion. Although they definitely nostalgia pandered at times, it’s an effort nonetheless. Any additional screen time for the Arbiter is welcome in this house. The story was decent (better than what i was expecting based off internet reactions) but took too long to get into motion & I struggle to remember anybody from the main squad you play 85% of the game as. Especially Locke, what a boring hollow shell of a character. Buck was memorable only because he’s just Nathan Fillion playing himself. Can’t remember the others. Master Chief steals the show as always and a certain AI returns with admittedly “I've seen this before” motives, but it was still cool to have them back. Speaking of the Chief, which “genius” at 343 thought it would be a good idea to unfairly split the game up 85/15 for the characters? And not make the team you play as interesting? Chief had like 3 missions in the 15 chapter campaign. THREE. Somebody needs to be fired for that. Some of the chapters are barely chapters too.. on 3 instances you walk back & forth talking to people then the chapter ends when you proceed. I hate hate HATE games that do this & count them towards the chapter list to further pad the game, Halo 4 having its prologue & epilogue as their own chapters was stupid as hell too but Halo 5 shouldn’t have continued that trend. Overall, Halo 5 is a fun time if you like FPS games, but if you’re a fan of the franchise you’ll end up disappointed, a trend I’m not enjoying with the 343 Halo games so far. Hopefully Infinite ends the new trilogy on a high note.… Expand

    The most overrated franchise ever, The Graphics and gameplay are very outdated.
    Call of Duty and Battlefield are much better than tras* HALO. These are just facts.

    Que asco de juego, realmente arruinaron la historia, la experiencia de juego y mataron mis ganas de jugar nuevamente una nueva entrega de ésta franquicia. No entiendo que es lo que hacen 343 con este tipo de propuestas. Entiendo qué quizá sea la agenda progresista como en TLOU2 que también es un fracaso.

    Not as bad as people make it out to be, but still isn't good for a halo game. Overall this is one of the BEST games i've ever played, but compared to the OTHER halo games, this was truly pretty bad. Still better than COD

    I played slot multiplayer and just beat the campaign and I really enjoyed it. I wouldn't say it's the best halo game but it's still really good.

    The fact that you have to catch up on the lore with novels and movies to explain 2 thirds of this game's story was absolutely stupid probably the 2nd worst story 1st The last of us 2 but to give us a 4-hour campaign that made no sense with way too many waves of enemies with the most **** teammate ai i have ever seen in gaming.     Halo 5: Guardians is okay. Its campaign is rubbish, but the multiplayer is solid thanks to the foundation it’s built upon. Warzone is a really enjoyable experience, and while combat is still mostly about tossing grenades and hitting the melee button, the whole Requisition gimmick adds some much-needed flavor to proceedings.

    The latest Halo is a big deal only for hardcore Halo fans. For me the single player campaign was unbearably pompous and despite 1080p and 60 fps the visuals are not as breathtaking as they once were in Halo 4. The game builds a solid foundation for Halo 6, but it’s not one of those games you absolutely have to play. [13/2015, p.48]

    With a more accessible and engaging story and solid new designs for the Prometheans, Halo 5 is a major improvement over Halo 4. Warzone is a great addition to the multiplayer, though the mode seems to have some game balance issues. [Nov 2015]
