The platforming elements in the game have been done to perfection with every action feeling fluid and responsive at all times. Each level has a ton of variety included in them and traversing around them was not only fun but interesting as well which meant it stayed fresh throughout. Once again the story shines bright just like it did in the first game and the humor is once again funny creating many laugh out loud moments. I really enjoyed the combat in the game because there’s quite a lot of depth within it and defeating each enemy with various moves always felt satisfying. Sometimes the difficulty curve seemed to spike out of nowhere which did cause me to become a little frustrated every now and then. While the bosses were fun to defeat they didn’t really capture the wow factor very much and more stand out aspects would’ve been nice. I absolutely adored the first Guacamelee! because it had fun in abundance and it was unlike anything else I’ve played before. As you can imagine then I was really looking forward to Guacamelee! 2 but I was also a little nervous as well because it had big shoes to fill. Thankfully I had no need to be nervous though because Guacamelee! 2 has taken everything that was good from the first game and in a way made it even better which means as far as predecessors go this is up there with the very best. Humour played a big part in the first game and once again it shines bright here with a story that will no doubt keep you interested throughout. Another thing that will keep you interested throughout is the combat and for me the combat felt more fluid this time around with plenty of depth thrown in for good measure as well. I will warn you though that it can get a little bit too difficult out of nowhere at times but the fantastic level design and brilliant visuals and sound design meant carrying on wasn’t difficult at all. At the end of the day then if you were a fan of the first game then Guacamelee! 2 is a must buy because it has stayed close to the formula that made the first game so successful and enjoyable, and when it’s all said and done I can see Guacamelee! 2 being one of my favorite game’s this year because of this. Two massive thumbs up!… Expand
