Green Hell is a hugely challenging, massively immersive game that will transplant you in the Amazonian jungles in both a good and a bad way.

Green Hell is an absolutely fantastic survival game. The way the jungle pulls you in with its beauty at the same time as punishing you for even the smallest of mistakes. Creepy Jar have done a great job making you both feel consumed by the jungle as well as adding the psychological strain of being stranded alone. The game makes no excuses for its learning curve, but it doesn’t need to because of how great the overall experience is. In the famous words of Axl Rose……… Welcome to the Jungle!

Green Hell is a good survival game that challenges our mind, in which we will have to make use of our intuition to survive in an accessible Amazon to all types of players, with solid playability, correct graphics and some than other visual and performance failure that does not affect the complete set.

Green Hell is a good story-driven survival game, even if with some problems with the controls and the initial difficulty. The co-op play option is also excellent, allowing players to distribute tasks making the whole experience more enjoyable.

The handling of the tribes in Green Hell is a shame because it’s one of the most mechanically compelling and balanced survival titles I’ve touched in years — it’s well-realized experience that offers a sincere commitment to placing the player into a harsh environment. But given the script in story mode? Stick to survival mode instead.

Die a few times, and figure out the basics: you can eat this, you can't drink that. Die a few more times from parasites or disease and discover which plants have medicinal properties and pay dearly for that knowledge with poisoning or death during our journey. Survive for longer, build weapons, defend yourself from enemies and predators alike. Eventually, you’ll know every food and water source, can defeat every enemy, can build anything you need in the game. You are more than a match for anything this inhospitable world might throw your way. Nature regards you with awe as you are the King of the Jungle. Then step on a scorpion far from your camp. You left your bandages with anti-venom herbs back at camp. Stumble around looking for the herb you need as your fever rises. Pass out on the forest floor and wake up with parasitic worms hiding in the muddy ground that have made a home under your skin. Use a bone fragment as a needle and dig them out maybe pass out from the pain. You wake up dangerously dehydrated and your makeshift coconut canteen are already drained. Making it home is your only hope. You start in the right direction, but the combination of the fever from the newly infected scorpion sting, and the open sores from your impromptu worm surgery have weakened you so that you can only make it a few hundred yards in between blacking out. Your periodic unconsciousness gives more worms the opportunity to claim a new home. The fever rises as your dehydration grows worse. Hunger rocks your body. You hope the growl you heard was just a mouse, and not a jaguar hunting you. Irrelevant, as you pass out again. You tell yourself that you can make it as it’s less than a mile to go. Medicine, food, water, fire, and rest all await you as it’s just a little farther. You’ll stumble one last time, and fall to the ground. This time, you don't rise again. Throat parched, delirious with fever, body covered in wounds and sores. Your vision fades to black. Scavengers then consume your body, and the sun bleaches your bones. Nature looks with indifference over the few scattered, splintered bones that mark your final resting place. If this sounds intense it’s because it is. Take a chance on a journey through Green Hell on the Xbox digital games store if you dare! Full Review »
