Aug 30, 2018All in all not a bad game, especially for a first outing. A little rough around the edges, but still a game that's worth a try.
-
Aug 14, 2018The Deeli Network studio has suffered from inexperience and wanted to cover too much in this first title, staying halfway through it all.

Aug 6, 2018Gene Rain is a disappointment. It is ultimately good looking enough, but shallow, with poor gameplay and frankly laughable dialogue. The acting is poor, the guns lack heft and the cover mechanic is broken so much that you really don’t want to get me started.
-
Jul 30, 2018All you need to know is that it’s bad.

Jul 25, 2018Gene Rain is a complete waste of storage space. The game’s nonsensical and incoherent story confusingly bounces around like flubber in a basketball court. It doesn’t help that the voice acting is the worst I’ve heard since the original Resident Evil. Grouping that with the game’s sluggish controls, its bland locations and its lack of originality, collectively makes for one of the worst cover-shooters this gen.
-
Jul 30, 2018That this cover shooter took a lot of inspiration from Gears of War, isn’t a bad thing. At least if you compared it to the poor visuals, the thin sound and the abysmal English localization that takes it far beyond trash.
-
Aug 10, 2018If Gene Rain ever goes on sale for $5, and you’re desperate for some achievements, then by, by all means, pick it for the points. Otherwise, there is no redeeming value in paying anything for the game. There are no strong aspects. Literally, nothing is done well. I wish I could say "despite all the negatives," but I can’t. Gene Rain is just awful and you should save your time and money.

Aug 21, 2018Gene Rain is one of those games that has the potential of having the it’s so bad, it’s good stamp on it, but actually playing the game is a frustrating chore that many will turn off after about 30 minutes. On top of that, they’re asking 30 bucks for it, which is about as laughable as the game’s voiced dialog. If this was maybe a 10 dollar game, I would say bad game fans could find some fun out of Mystery Science Theater 3000’ing it, but no way should anyone spend as much as they’re asking for it now. It’s confusing, boring, frustrating, and not worth your time and money.

Aug 5, 2018It’s a broken, buggy, disjointed mess. Perhaps the biggest plus point is that it’s mercifully short at around 4 hours long.
