    Gas Guzzlers Extreme might be a small time release, but it’s full of pure, unadulterated, racing heart.

    After a repetitive and slow start due to the slight grinding process, Gas Guzzlers Extreme starts feeling exciting, while delivering tons of wild arcade racing fun, just like the good old classics did back in the day. However, it’s a huge bummer that this version of the game lacks any form of online multiplayer like its Steam counterpart.

    May not have multiplayer features or a high level of spit and polish, but it has an enjoyable gameplay loop, a wealth of unlockables, and, more importantly, it’s just fun to play.

    If you really miss arcade racers and have been incredibly disappointed with other franchises like Need For Speed, then this is definitely worth your time and money. If all you want to do is race around blowing up other cars with your friends, you’re better off saving your money.

    Had it included multiplayer modes, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to award Gas Guzzlers Extreme our Highly Recommended award, but without it, prospective players should think long and hard about what they expect to get out of the game.

    Gas Guzzlers is more of a junker than a Ferrari, and it shows in its technical underperformance and uninspired track designs. If you really have nothing else to play, the game packs a couple cool features that will occupy you for a few hours — if you don’t get carsick before then.

    While Gas Guzzlers Extreme attempts to fill a niche that is seriously lacking in today's marketplace, it falls short of success due to performance issues and a complete lack of multiplayer capability.

    A lifeless vehicle combat/racer with a gaping hole where the multiplayer should be, Gas Guzzlers Extreme is not worth your time. If you must, play the PC version for the multiplayer.

    Gas Guzzlers Extreme strikes me as a project that likely held much promise when it was conceptualized, but was probably hindered by a lack of resources. With a simple, accessible premise, uncomplicated control scheme, and action-oriented approach, the title could have served as a nice change-of-pace from hyper-technical racing sims and overdone street racers. I doubt I’m the only gamer who imagined it might be a modern-day Twisted Metal, but Gas Guzzlers never quite captures that spirit.

    it´s a bit unpolished, looks like an early 360 game, initial loading takes forever even on a series x. but nothing of that matters at allit´s a bit unpolished, looks like an early 360 game, initial loading takes forever even on a series x. but nothing of that matters at all compared to the great gameplay. smooth controls and framerate, great responsive combat. just the right amount or arcadieness in it´s car physics.
    it´s a great mix of twisted metal and burnout. you can customize and upgrade your cars and weapons.
    all game modes are fun. it´s obious that whoever made this, didn´t have much budget but knew exactly what they were doing with the resources they had and knew just was made twisted metal and brunout great. utterly underrated game, a true hidden gem. this would have been just my kind of game when it came out 7 years ago, and it still is yet i never knew it existed until now. hope it can the recognition it deserves.    … Full Review »
