    Game of Thrones, while a solid Telltale experience, has limited appeal. The Venn diagram of interest is flatly composed of people who love Game of Thrones with people who like/tolerate Telltale's experiences. If you love Game of Thrones and enjoy Telltale's previous offerings, you shouldn't hesitate to pick up the game.

    This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. Telltale Games found a good mix of story and gameplay in Season 1 of their Walking Dead series. It had plenty of great story and characters, with just enough point-and-click, QTE, and exploration segments to keep a player from forgetting that this was, after all, a game and not a show. They haven't really recaptured that magic since.

    Both their Walking Dead: Season 2 and Game of Thrones series' have the story and character parts in equal measure to TWD, but the gameplay segments are much fewer and greatly farther in between. The result is that the player feels less and less in these two subsequent series that they are involved in any way.

    Game of Thrones is a story about a Northern family struggling to deal with the changing political climate of Westeros in the aftermath of the Red Wedding, and it really is a good story. The members of this family and their surrounding bannerman and support people are entertaining characters, and their story balances tragedy, perserverance, and humor in equal measure. You do end up rooting for them very quickly.

    The main problem with Game of Thrones, as a GAME, is that it's premise is that the player's decisions will affect the events of the story and the ending (which hasn't released as of this writing). The nagging feeling I get through multiple playthroughs is that this is not necessarily the case. One example: In one of the episodes, while playing as Rodrik, you are tasked with securing the marriage pact with a sympathetic Northern family. In one playthrough, I succeeded and she pledged her family's strength to the Forresters immediately. In another playthrough, I failed. "Well, that's not good," I thought, but come to find out that subsequent events put this family on your side anyways. It makes me worry that no matter the decisions I've made in past episodes will not have a drastic impact on the story's conclusion. This is a major issue with a game that's strength claims to be the player's ability to make key decisions.    … Full Review »

    Sadly, its one of the worst telltales game. There is a lot of dialogue and NO puzzles at all, and a little bit of combat. The first 4 episodesSadly, its one of the worst telltales game. Sadly I doubt it will have any tie in to the show or books ever, Story wise Telltale delivers another solid game. Not quite on par with their best but solid none the less.… Full Review »
