Fractured Minds while short, this shows and portrays how it feels most days dealing with depression and anxiety. To truly enjoy the game you must relate to the content, The message at the end felt....I felt like WOW, and It touched me in a special way. For anyone out there dealing with depression or anxiety, I highly recommend this game for their Xbox One library. Even if you don't connect with it as those who can directly relate. It's at least nice knowing that most of the proceeds are going towards a charity and helping people with these types of struggles. It's very comforting as a long time gamer, to see how gaming can be used to also help battle the struggle millions have dealt with in their life. I wish Emily immense success in her cause, the price is right and so is the game for the price and the reason behind the price is worthy of anyone with an Xbox One to pick this one up. Expand

It's good, but very short. I know some things are accurate from personal experience, and nothing is really inaccurate in my opinion.
My biggest issue with this is that I kept getting stuck in the environment.

There are 6 chapters, they are all quite short but they do all carry an aspect of what they're trying to represent. Most chapters were fine, but chapter three is just a hallway with 3 messages on the wall.
Not to take away from anybody's work but I just felt that was a small chapter relative to the others.
    Still a good experience overall

This is supposed to be something to do with anxiety/mental health...
As someone who suffers from anxiety and depression (amongst other things) I was intrigued. I vaguely got what they was trying to do, the smiley bloke is quite a good representation of things. One massive gripe I had though was you can't invert the camera... I mean seriously, in this day & age no inverted camera!? In the

In the bit with the red search lights it was a nightmare, which I suppose was kind of appropriate really.
For £2 (and the face i believe it was made by 1 person) this is alright, plus it's a very easy 1000 gamerscore.

Difficult to accurately rate because it is so short. The puzzles are okay (though the first one isn't really a puzzle), but the game took me maybe 30 minutes to complete.

A very short and adequate puzzle game with a nice message and touching ending.

I don't look closely at the games beforehand, Fractured Minds is about different chapters in the everyday life of a girl (17 year old Emily Mitchell) and her constant dealing with mental illness. The chapters deal with paranoia, fear, isolation, being completely alone with the disease, etc.

The whole is a short game and lasts about 15-25 minutes and is divided into 6 chapters. The game was developed by Emily Mitchell with the help of Wired Productions. A small excerpt from PC Games: "I developed Fractured Minds to help those with anxiety and other mental health problems," said Mitchell. "The effects of illness can be invisible from the outside, but debilitating for those affected, so it is important to continue raising awareness and offering support. I am grateful for the support I have received and want to help others wherever I am can. " Every detail in Fractured Minds, whether it be 3D models, text or game design decisions, was designed, written or programmed by Emily herself. According to her own statement, the development time was ten months.

The puzzles in the game are not difficult, the whole thing should just invite more thought about the topic, as well as draw attention to it in general, and the chapters offer images that allow space for interpretation.

Fractured Minds is fun, but very forgettable. While I did enjoy the metalinguistical aspect of the narration, it ultimately made the game very vague to have any impactful meaning, in my opinion. I get that the point was that you could relate to this game no matter what kind of mental struggle you went through, but I would think the game would benefit from a more direct story.

    With that

With that being said,I understand this game was made by only one developer, and considering that, I think she did a pretty good job, especially considering her age. For her first game, this thing is very solid, and has a message worth spreading.

Ultimately, the game will only take you 20-30 minutes to beat, and I recommend you check it out. For what it is, I found it to be enjoyable.

Krótka, dosadna i prosta w swoim przekazie. Brawa dla młodej developerki za podjęcie trudnej tematyki.

The truth is that to truly appreciate Fractured Minds and leave the game having been rewarded and touched by its content, it is imperative that you approach it in the knowledge that the actual gameplay and puzzling is entirely secondary to the experience and the message. Not that the puzzling is completely pointless, it’s just heavily weighted to the simplistic...If you can do that, what awaits is wholly unnerving and uncomfortable. Fractured Minds is an insight intended to open eyes wide to the daily turmoil mental health can raise. From the half-light of paranoia to the all too bright light of anxiety, this is a game that makes its mark, and in my opinion, makes those who play it all the richer for having done so.

Fractured Minds on Xbox One is a brave and admirable attempt at using video games in an effort to reach out to people who have to struggle silently with mental health.
