This game is a beautifully executed game in my opinion. In brief, the game a great open world arcade game and sim game combined with over 200 cars with a beautifully designed map.

Incredible gameplay, twinned with a brilliant soundtrack and beautiful visuals make Forza Horizon 2 the best racer of the year. Quite possibly the best that the Xbox One has to offer.

Amazing visuals, gameplay, racing dynamics, graphics, music.
This game gets a 10 with its astonishing gameplay features and style. It allows any user to come and race they way they want to. If you like arcade style, keep those assists on and you're golden. If you more into realistic racers, give yourself a challenge and turn all assists off and you'll see how this game isn't as "arcady"

First thing to say is that it looks fantastic. The car and backgrounds are amazing.

Game play wise also excellent - if you want a session of serious racing you can do it - if you don't want o concentrate too hard then you can simply drive around the open world. If you want to go on the rampage and break stuff it there. If you want to take a Land Rover Defender and turn 90 degrees off

Want to take a classic for a gentle spin around the French countryside? hop in.

Boy racer - ok, let's design the paintwork and decals on your car. Red wheel sir? yes please.

There no micro purchases like Forza 5 Motorsport. It's as difficult and challenging as you want it to be.

When I sit down in from to f the console and can't decide what to play - do I really want the intensity and concentration needed to play BF4? Not today - ok let's fire up FH2.

    A simply fantastic game.

One of those games that just makes you smile when you play. Fun, fun, fun. I am generally not into racing games of any type, simulations or arcade style. However, this game is an exception. It is just a fun and enjoyable game with beautiful graphics. FH2 is a well balanced racing game.

A very deep, fun, and engrossing racing game. It's not the hardcore simulation experience the normal Forza games provide but it's a nice change of pace after Forza 5. Horizon 2 is a true next gen racer and I've been in love with it since launch. There's an easy 100+ hours of content here, so if you're looking for a racer that will last a long time go pick up Horizon.

Fantastic graphically, good sound design, great driving mechanics, and so much to do within the game that it keeps you hooked. The sky, the lighting , the perfectly modelled graphical effects used on cars overshadow the lack of visual flourish seen in more rushed and unready racers such as the 2014 flop driveclub. Also, in comparison, the multiplayer works perfectly and is integrated well into the game experience giving the community feel.
Decals and car design make a welcome return for those familiar with the Forza series allowing you to customise your car into a truly unique vehicle. All in all a fantastic addition to the Forza stable, a must own for all open world racing gamers.

The sense of speed is awesome. The sense of exploration is awesome. The attention to detail everywhere in the world is immensely impressive: From grass, to trees, to the buildings in the cities, to the way the light reflects off of wet surfaces, to the small water droplets that collect (and evaporate) on the cars, to the way the light accurately creates the correct color in the sky based on where the sun is present (Reyleigh scattering), to accurate rainbows based on rain/sunlight (what???!), to the accurately mapped star constellations in the sky at night...this game is insanely packed with details. The cars are very detailed, and even the crowds aren't static/boring.

Photomode and replay mode are awesome for playing back the game's fun highlights, and you can really get a sense for this detail this way.

I recommend anyone who is skeptical of this game to download the demo and play it for 20 minutes. If you don't come away with a big smile on your face, then you really don't know when fun hits you. And if you don't own an XB1, just download some of the gamersyde footage.

In short: the game is fun and beautiful. If you own an XB1, it is not worth missing out.

    PROS
    1. Graphics are top notch, greatly improved over the first game.
    2. The atmosphere feels more alive than the first game with the addition of weather effects, which look stunning, and more lively crowds that are actually walking around towns this time (in the first game they were only found at horizon event areas), albeit behind indestructible barricades so that you can't hit them.
    3. Good selection of cars to chose from. I think it's something like 200+ not including dlc.
    4. Custom paint job creator. Create your own or download someone else's, some people have come up with some amazing paint jobs.
    5. There is a lot to do. There are 168 championships and each championship has 4 races to complete plus 30 bucket list challenges(drive a specific vehicle in the game to achieve a specific goal such as meet a target speed limit at a specific speed trap), 10 barnyard finds(search for a rare old vehicle), 5 showcase events(race against a unique vehicle, a train for example), and bonus signs to find and smash(these offer xp bonuses and fast travel discounts). You also have the ability to challenge any roaming NPC/drivatar you find to a race which will be randomly generated by the game.
    6. The map is a very good size and the roads are not as enclosed as the first game, meaning you can go off road and explore the environment.
    7. The soundtrack is excellent and has more variety than the first game.
    8. No dumb intrusive story, just racing.
    9. Diving mechanics are solid and fun. Anyone familiar with the first horizon game will find driving in this game much the same.
    10. More rewarding then the first game. Every time you level up you get to either spin a wheel for a random prize(credits or cars) or you earn a skill point to spend on perks. Unlocking perks will help you earn credits and xp faster.

    CONS
    1. Drivatars can be very annoying/aggravating to deal with. I can understand bumping and blocking me in a race but it's annoying when it happens in free roam.
    2. This is just my opinion but I cannot stand the purely off road races, they frequently cross the lime from fun into frustration. I can deal with the fact you can't control your vehicle as much but I hate not being able to see where you are going and dirvatars being a bit too perfect on the off road courses. Plus there is the fact that a drivatar can miss a checkpoint and not have to turn around to go hit it but if you miss a checkpoint your pretty much f*****, better restart the race at that point because there is no way you are getting the lead back.

So that's it, everything about this game is mostly good. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

Then we have the new features and lack there of, tuning is a pretty good thing, removes the tricky tuning from FH1 making it a bit simpler, but. Drivetrain swops. For some reason T10 has an odd tradition of letting players make 2wd cars into 4wd, this is a bad thing. Playing competitively in FH1, the best cars you could use were 4wd, luckily only some cars in that game had that, now anyone can have any car with it, seriously, I've seen LaFerarris 4wd. Online lobby, where are they? Road trips force you to drive the (in my opinion) extremely dumb offroad races, this is not Dirt, nor a Dakar racing game, its Forza so ill take a normal car when I'm racing, something like a 2wd sedan, hatchback or sports car. Well in Horizon 2 your gonna need a rally raid truck. The ON road races aren't great either, many corners in FH1 had walls on the inside making shortcutting impossible, not in FH2, shortcutting over 5,10 even 20 meters of grass is commonplace, another bad thing for the clean online racers.

If your a competitive racer you'll probably dislike the game, if your a average racer using assist and goofing around in overturned cars etc, you'll probably like it. Really hope T10 can redeem itself.

I do like the game and enjoy most of the time i play, its just lacking features to get more points, graphics can't get you anywhere.

This is not a simulation racing game, if you are purchasing this expecting realistic driving you're going to be disappointed. Even with all the assists off you can come into a turn, slam into the brakes 20 feet prior, and take the turn cleanly and lose minimal time when compared to taking the turn properly.

I wasn't even able to salvage this game through its multiplayer as half of the game modes in a circuit are random gametypes that aren't even races.

Its a boring, uninspiring slog of childish tasks, that are really nothing more than a slightly different version of Horizon 1. To compound my dislike the multiplayer is just as lacking as the solo mode is albeit during the multiplaying its a wrecking fest soundtracked by screaming children and "adults" slinging abuse and yelling at one another. That aside, it thinks its Forza Motorsport because it shares cars, the tuning and upgrade options, and some of the presentations visuals. Its Forza in name only. Its a poor, rehashed, recycled Horizon 1. The graphical presentation is a marginal improvement of Horizon 1 not the massive improvement i was led to believe by most other reviews. The game world is large yet boring, the cars and mostly the same since Forza 3, and the general uninvetivness of things to do just gets repetitive after a while. Its neither fun, rewarding or challenging online or in solo mode. So for the overall experience ill be trading it in, sticking with Forza 5 and hoping that this trend of cashing in on franchises ends soon in the hope that something refreshing and invigorating comes along sooner rather than later. Great for arcade racers, silly kids and and wannabe race drivers. Being a hardcore fan of Forza I can't help but feel... indifferent about this. I'll keep it short. No saving replays, car classes instead of performance index, no photomode in multiplayer, the drift scoring system if faulty and rewards are ridiculous. If you beat the fastest rival time, the fastest time in the world... you get 2,000 CR (money). But if you pass a speed camera going 60mphBeing a hardcore fan of Forza I can't help but feel... indifferent about this. I'll keep it short. No saving replays, car classes instead of performance index, no photomode in multiplayer, the drift scoring system if faulty and rewards are ridiculous. If you beat the fastest rival time, the fastest time in the world... you get 2,000 CR (money). But if you pass a speed camera going 60mph you get 50,000 CR. Where's the reward for doing one of the most difficult things in the game? Players have posted some crazy times already, the Forza pros are out and they've set the bar. Should you beat these insane times you get near to nothing. Also.. maybe I'm just biased on this but Forza 4 had the best drifting mechanic I've ever seen. If you hold a long drift while keeping your speed you'd rack up some serious points. If you spun out of control or hit a wall you'll lost those current points. Here you can spin out of control and game thinks you're still drifting. The point system is odd as well, you get points based on your drift showcase points. It goes Drift > Great Drift > Awesome Drift > Ultimate Drift then if you're still drifting it will either stop or go back to Drift and continue.

But if you're looking for points why bother drifting when you could just go as fast as you can while passing cars... getting Speed and Pass points that can rack up nearly 10,000 points. Or just hold the stick left and get Burnout points. It's too easy to manipulate the game. Want 4 million CR? Go to a speed camera and go through 60mph then do it at 62mph then 64mph, as long as you beat the next rival which is usually 1mph off you get 50,000 CR for each time you beat someone. Do it over and over till you've reached your top speed and there you go, you're rich. The car classes are also annoying as all hell. This is one of my biggest issues. If you like racing muscle cars with a few upgrades you'll be somewhere in A class or B class... but that doesn't matter anymore because muscle cars are in a class now called Classic Performance where your rival time will go. So if someone has a fully upgraded S2 (or R1 for old school fans) car, their time will be up against your B class car. So of course you'll want to just get the best cars in the class and fully upgrade them. Taking any and all personality out of the game.

I miss drifting rivals too... Forza 4 had an entire section of rivals just for drifting. Drag rivals too. I know it's not Horizon, but this is a new Forza game which means it's supposed to surpass the previous titles. And yet Horizon 1 still feels like the better game. Replays is a big miss out. I remember this video of a pro Forza drifter made a replay of him doing the most insane drifting down Fuji mountain and he was drifting backwards... that video got millions of views on YouTube. Things like that are the reason people love the game so much.

If you just want to race and you don't care much for the extras it's a good racing game. Everyone always says "OMG look at these graphics!' but I don't care too much for graphics, even though they are nice. I just feel... disappointed.

It looks great, handles like a cookie cutter Forza game. but the major problem with this game, like many others on consoles: 1. It's a racing game. 2. It runs at a measly 30 fps. The reasons why it runs at this ridiculously low fps and not 60 fps at the very least are unimportant: it's the fact that it does. Racing games should also be at 60 fps. Go big or go home.

    Pros:
They made an easy difficulty that allowed even a noob like me to find the game accessable and enjoyable. For the first 1/3 of the game I used the easy mode and then gradually stepped up the challenge. Really well done.

Pretty looking game; not the greatest graphics nor the most scenic settings but better than average.

Car sounds were very realistic and enjoyable....easy to find immersion just cruising down the road.

    Cons:

Biggest single player gripe is the radio stations. I get it that songs people know are expensive to license, but everyone else seems to do it. I see fanboys positing that it is done purposely for this reason or that but it is obviously a money issue. The most popular music of the people your games a geared to is pop, rock and hip hop and yet we get 1 station of classical, and 6 stations of indie house music garbage. Neddless to say I, and I imagine the vast majority play with the radio off.....at least allow us to customize a playlist.....huge fail in a driving game.

Largest gripe in the online play is there is no penalty for damaging your car....sure it looks damaged, but it doesn't impact performance, so every race turns into a smash and crash.....like laying Hold'em with no stakes....every fool goes all-in every time.....another huge fail.

Outside of racing there is very, very little to do......even the road trips are a race...sure, it says take your time, enjoy the scenery and yet you add dozens of AI vehicles all around you going your exact speed, no matter what it is, and smashing into you.

Finally, for as expensive as it is to make these games, adding a few extra towns so you aren't asked to take road trips to the same 6 spots over and over again would be relatively inexpensive and yet would go a long way to cover up the monotony.

Horizon 2 is no different, yes the story is naff and yes the character are cliche - but the open world is beautiful and varied, and all of the different cars are so so very good. There is deeper car customisation and tweaking this time around which is very much appreciated, and the level of detail is turned up a notch. There are some seriously beautiful moments when it starts to rain and the sun is shining at the right time on your car.

Personally I love the music - though it will not be to everyones taste. And the myriad of open world activities are great, but not in your face if you just want to drive around like a maniac.

I truly cannot think of much, if anything, bad to say about Horizon 2 - it is my favourite racing game on new gen consoles....

If you loved horizon 1 - you will love horizon 2, if you are a casual driving game enthusiast then you will love horizon 2.... if you're looking for a hard core sim then perhaps this is not for you. But currently as it stands, there is no better open world racer on the market and I cannot begin recommend this any more than I already have.

Of course you got the Car Pass which will add additional Cars to the Roster and also we hope for more updates like turn 10 have done with Forza 5. The graphics are top notch (although there is the odd pop in from time to time). The Gameplay is Fantastic, it feels as though the Drivatars which debut on Forza 5 seem a lot more nailed on. The even cooler addition with the Drivatars is with regards to the open world, you can follow the Cars in the open world and they drive anywhere, meaning if your struggling to find a hidden barn find or any xp or discount boards you may have a chance of finding some which I think is a pretty neat feature. The Single player Mode is Fun to start but I felt it was getting pretty repetitive after doing about 10 road trips so I would say to change car every trip just to keep it fresh. As usual you do certain amount of circuit races, point - to - Point and also some cross country which takes full advantage of the open world places of the map. you aim to win 15 championships in order to proceed to the final Horizon in order to become Horizon Champion.

Single player pretty much covered, now for the multiplayer

Multiplayer also allow you to compete in road trips across the Horizon Festival with up to 11 other online players. this also adds extra playing time for the game, you can also compete in Infected and King which make a return from the first horizon. you can also just casually free roam across the map with your friends and do new bucket list challenges with a friend (These are also in single player which also adds additional challenge and playtime to the game). Again, online road trips can get repetitive so again I would use a different car to keep it fresh.

If you are a car fan and loved the first one this game is for you. this will keep you going for months on end.
I fully recommend this game to ALL racing fans, Playground games have nailed it on this one.....

There are tons of events and unique races, with several amazing modes and features to play on or offline.

With an open world map and dynamic weather, the on and/or off road races keep the game challenging as opposed to other racing games that only have several tracks where it is easier to anticipate every aspect of the race (bumps, turns, dips, etc). With an open map, and wide checkpoints, every racer will have their own racing style that completely changes the games outcome. And of course there are Point A to Point B races, where you take any route you want. It's nice to choose your own path in life, and in games!! :D I'm really impressed how this game turned out overall.

I believe Driveclub looks better than Forza Horizon 2, but I'm more interested in gameplay, unique and valuable content, features and replay value. For me it was such a good game that I can overlook some things like sometimes cars becoming unstable when turning, or always burning out when the race begins, even not being able to take your car for a spin before making up your mind and buying it.

Until now, i just finish 30% and too excited to try horizon 3. I'm quite sure that horizon 3 will be perfect game. my rate is 9.5/10 , but i can't choose 9.5 so i prefer to choose 9.

The soundtrack is one of my favourite features of the game, consisting of 7 stations that each play various genres of music like indie rock, garage rock, dance, EDM, classic etc. and the 260-270 strong car count makes driving to the music an absolute blast! Not to mention the graphics of the game, wow is all I can say. Full 1080p, high-res textures and stellar lighting, particularly at night, it is simply pure eye-candy, and the music and the driving just add to the sugar rush! Seriously, if you have an Xbox One, and you're looking for the essential racer, look no further! So get in your shiny new Huracan, blast some of the best tunes of 2014 on your stereo, and prepare for the summer festival of your life (even if it isn’t really summer)! Expand

Fun game, great soundtrack. Graphics and the driving feel aren't as good as Forza 5 but I suppose that's to be expected for an open world game. Recommended for casual racing fans.

This game was amazing, a lot more fun and free world feeling than Forza Horizon. The mechanics were smooth and felt very good. Favorite game from Forza as of right now!

And I'm not even talking about online mode. Crazy fun, no regrets for buying it. Expand

If you like drifting, GET THIS GAME, Ive always enjoyed drifing in Forza, but you couldn't really do it very well in the first horizon because you couldn't tune your car, which was dissapointing because drifting around a real city rather than a race track would have been great. but then horizon 2!! and you can drift! they even put 4 very decent areas to drift on the map.

If you like drag racing you in for a bit of a dissapointment, now don't get me wrong, they put everything in this game you need to drag, and a nice place to do it at as well, HOWEVER drag racing is kind of ruined by one single car, the alfa romeo 33 stradale. There is no other car in the game that can even come close to the speed and just raw acceleration of that car, which kind of makes drag racing boring because everyone just pretty much races those cars. BUT if you find a good group of people to drift with it can be a whole lot of fun.

I think the only other complaints I have are that it seems to rain way too often, and the xbox 360 version they released was just a complete rip off, not cool. But the map is great, theres sooooo many cars, they even released a porshe pack that wont completely destroy your wallet like the last one.

If your looking for a driving game, THIS is the only one worth getting (until forza 6 comes out at least)

It's a simulation racing game, you do events, collect faster cars and race them against tougher opponents. Liked the off roading aspect but the story line was kinda iffy and the premise was not immersive. There was no objective other than more cars or any kind of real endgame pulling me along.

OMFG this game is just awesome! Huge open world, 200+ cars and the ability to drive everywhere.

The game takes place after 2012's Forza Horizon and yes this is a direct sequel to Forza Horizon. The game features a wonderful array of cars, from jeep wranglers to Lamborghinis there is no shortage of fun here. The events are just like Forza Motorsport 5. They are arranged in Championships.

The game features a wonderful array of cars, from jeep wranglers to Lamborghinis there is no shortage of fun here. The events are just like Forza Motorsport 5. They are arranged in Championships. Basically choose a car category and you are done. Select the car category, buy or choose a car you currently own and just race. During when the championships are over and you have the option to choose another championship and you pick it you are given a mini task to drive to a certain area on the map in a limited amount of time. But only if you want a small but satisfying cash reward. You can always rejoin the same championship and still possible beat the game with only one car.

The map is also so huge. The time spent to get from one side of the map to the other side horizontally is almost 15 minutes. You'll also find fun car challenges that you can race in. They are called Bucket List challenges. All you have to do is follow the simple instructions on the car challenge bio and just hop in and drive. But you can only use them for the event. They also feel like test drives. In case you haven't got Pagani Huyura you've always wanted, try it out, you love it, like it, or hate it when it comes to its driving. Next we will talk/type about the special events. These are given out at a random time but you have a high possibility of earning a free car which is very nice. You can either face against train, airplanes, and hot air balloons. They are spectacular and don't get too boring. Rain and fog is now implemented into the game and they are both meant to enhance the simulation a bit more.

The game also features a leveling up system. When you level up you get a chance at winning a free car or rewards ranging from 2,500 credits to over 100,000 credits. Its a really nice touch. You don't just get a free risk taker thing, but you also get a perk point. You can understand how this will go if you've every played an rpg. The game runs at an unbreakable 30 Frames Per Second at 1080p. Amazing how the frame rate never drops not even once. And did I say how good the game looks. HOLY F***ING S*** it gave me a boner. The game almost looks photo realistic. Bye Bye.

If possible I would give this game a 9.5. I used to only be an action, shooter fan, but this game made me a fan of the racing genre. Presented racing in an exciting way that made it approachable to someone with no racing game experience. The offroad gameplay was fun as well as the storm island DLC. The Porsche DLC was okay and the fast and furious DLC sucked but was free.

The gameplay is fun and open world with a variety of settings. Want to go for a coastal blast along the Med in your LaFerrari? Do it. Want to turn an old Abbey into a rally stage with your Escort Cossy? You can. How about a 235mph blast down the highway connecting France and Italy? Just hop in your Veryon and GO!
