What a game.. This is like blendig Forza and PGR4 into one game. Beautiful.. Lots of cars... Hours of gameplay with a new awesome DLC out, this is in my opinion one of the best car games ever.

So I was hugely excited to unbox the XB1 yesterday and dive in to a multitude of games, however in the 7 hours I played last night this was the only game to get any play time!

I have to say that I thobk this is the racer Ive been searching for for a long long time. I loved the freedom to tune and modify the appearance of my cars in other Forza games, but were so sim heavy that it became a bit soulless and repetitive after a while. I also loved the Project Gotham games too, absolutely loving the kudos system as well as it being a really decent racer. I was just craving a touch more seriousness and more variety of cars and customisation options. I'm also a massive GTA V fan, and for years I was crying out for an open world driving game where you can drive to the race itself, then race! I tried out Test Drive unlimited but found the car handling physics massively lacking.
So take the Forza we all know, make it slightly more of an arcade racer without cheapening it ( it's more like PGR but not massively so ) and give it some lushous open world scenery such as you find in GTA V ( but not as vast ) and you have one pretty perfect racer.
Style points are awarded anywhere, including when just driving in the open world. You dont have to enter a certain race or mode to win these style points, and so you will be racking up the XP points in no time. I'm normally a racer who uses manual transmission and very few driver aids in the other instalments, however here, for the time being at least I'm driving in auto with assists as its still so much fun, being easily able to kick the back out and hold a power slide with relevant ease. I haven't played on line yet so time will tell whether I have to resort back to manual to pick up my pace, but for the moment it's fine as is.
The feeling of speed is incredible. One thing lacking from the GTA V game where even in a hyper car you just don't feel you are travelling all that fast. I tell you this, doing 210mph in the McLaren through town with traffic was a proper adrenalin rush!
If you want an out and out sim, this is not the game for you. If you want a game that combines the best elements of sim, arcade and open world freedom, you simply must buy this game. At time of writing I just cannot recommend this game highly enough. Bravo. :-)

Then we have the new features and lack there of, tuning is a pretty good thing, removes the tricky tuning from FH1 making it a bit simpler, but. Drivetrain swops. For some reason T10 has an odd tradition of letting players make 2wd cars into 4wd, this is a bad thing. Playing competitively in FH1, the best cars you could use were 4wd, luckily only some cars in that game had that, now anyone can have any car with it, seriously, I've seen LaFerarris 4wd. Online lobby, where are they? Road trips force you to drive the (in my opinion) extremely dumb offroad races, this is not Dirt, nor a Dakar racing game, its Forza so ill take a normal car when I'm racing, something like a 2wd sedan, hatchback or sports car. Well in Horizon 2 your gonna need a rally raid truck. The ON road races aren't great either, many corners in FH1 had walls on the inside making shortcutting impossible, not in FH2, shortcutting over 5,10 even 20 meters of grass is commonplace, another bad thing for the clean online racers.

If your a competitive racer you'll probably dislike the game, if your a average racer using assist and goofing around in overturned cars etc, you'll probably like it. Really hope T10 can redeem itself.

I do like the game and enjoy most of the time i play, its just lacking features to get more points, graphics can't get you anywhere.

Again, this is an arcade style game so it's the type where you hit a wall going full speed and you just bounce off, and it's nice to see a game like this outside of the bored 'Need for Speed' world. This really does feel like a fresh version of the open world 'Need for Speed' games with visuals that will have your parents thinking they are watching a real race. In short, wouldn't recommend this game for the tuners looking for realism, but more the people that went to the local arcade to enjoy games like 'Cruisn USA'. Expand

There are tons of events and unique races, with several amazing modes and features to play on or offline.

With an open world map and dynamic weather, the on and/or off road races keep the game challenging as opposed to other racing games that only have several tracks where it is easier to anticipate every aspect of the race (bumps, turns, dips, etc). With an open map, and wide checkpoints, every racer will have their own racing style that completely changes the games outcome. And of course there are Point A to Point B races, where you take any route you want. It's nice to choose your own path in life, and in games!! :D I'm really impressed how this game turned out overall.

I believe Driveclub looks better than Forza Horizon 2, but I'm more interested in gameplay, unique and valuable content, features and replay value. Forza Horizon 2 does that while exceeding your expectations. It is the best value for your money, and the greatest racing game on the market right now. You can't go wrong with this one.

This really is, at the time of writing, the pinnacle of open world racing. Forza games have always been great (for me anyway) - they have been that right mix of simulation detail and arcade racing depending on what you want. Forza is simply one of the most accessible games you could hope to buy - catering for any type of player.

Horizon 2 is no different, yes the story is naff and yes

Horizon 2 is no different, yes the story is naff and yes the character are cliche - but the open world is beautiful and varied, and all of the different cars are so so very good. There is deeper car customisation and tweaking this time around which is very much appreciated, and the level of detail is turned up a notch. There are some seriously beautiful moments when it starts to rain and the sun is shining at the right time on your car.

Personally I love the music - though it will not be to everyones taste. And the myriad of open world activities are great, but not in your face if you just want to drive around like a maniac.

I truly cannot think of much, if anything, bad to say about Horizon 2 - it is my favourite racing game on new gen consoles....

If you loved horizon 1 - you will love horizon 2, if you are a casual driving game enthusiast then you will love horizon 2.... if you're looking for a hard core sim then perhaps this is not for you. But currently as it stands, there is no better open world racer on the market and I cannot begin recommend this any more than I already have.

The gameplay is similar to the previous Forza's with a little bit of an arcade touch added to it (obviously since you can drive super cars off-road). All the customization options for your cars are present from the previous versions including custom decals.

The gameplay has a ton to do ranging from championship races, bucket list challenges, barn finds, and even just free-roaming to find billboards or level up your perks and wristbands. Easy game to pick up on and off and every minute is an enjoyable experience just off of the atmosphere and gameplay. You can also join a club and do some of the wide range of online activities available (something I am just now getting into).

I believe what truly won me over is the soundtrack and southern European setting. It is one of the truly beautiful places to drive a car around. The graphics are top notch, don't listen to that "oh it's only 30 FPS" because this game runs silky smooth with no framerate issues. Weather effects are a nice touch as well. I have about 25 hours into the game and I feel like I have only just scratched the surface.

This game pretty much sums up why Forza is one of the kings of racing games along with Gran Turismo. All these other games to show up in the last couple of months (and not show up in the case of Project CARS) are just pretenders. If you love cars, racing games, or are just looking for a ton of replayability then you do not want to pass up on this game. One of the must haves on the Xbox One.

Of course you got the Car Pass which will add additional Cars to the Roster and also we hope for more updates like turn 10 have done with Forza 5. The graphics are top notch (although there is the odd pop in from time to time). The Gameplay is Fantastic, it feels as though the Drivatars which debut on Forza 5 seem a lot more nailed on. The even cooler addition with the Drivatars is with regards to the open world, you can follow the Cars in the open world and they drive anywhere, meaning if your struggling to find a hidden barn find or any xp or discount boards you may have a chance of finding some which I think is a pretty neat feature. The Single player Mode is Fun to start but I felt it was getting pretty repetitive after doing about 10 road trips so I would say to change car every trip just to keep it fresh. As usual you do certain amount of circuit races, point - to - Point and also some cross country which takes full advantage of the open world places of the map. you aim to win 15 championships in order to proceed to the final Horizon in order to become Horizon Champion.

Single player pretty much covered, now for the multiplayer

Multiplayer also allow you to compete in road trips across the Horizon Festival with up to 11 other online players. this also adds extra playing time for the game, you can also compete in Infected and King which make a return from the first horizon. you can also just casually free roam across the map with your friends and do new bucket list challenges with a friend (These are also in single player which also adds additional challenge and playtime to the game). Again, online road trips can get repetitive so again I would use a different car to keep it fresh.

If you are a car fan and loved the first one this game is for you. this will keep you going for months on end.
I fully recommend this game to ALL racing fans, Playground games have nailed it on this one.....

This is not a simulation racing game, if you are purchasing this expecting realistic driving you're going to be disappointed. Even with all the assists off you can come into a turn, slam into the brakes 20 feet prior, and take the turn cleanly and lose minimal time when compared to taking the turn properly.

I wasn't even able to salvage this game through its multiplayer as half of the game modes in a circuit are random gametypes that aren't even races.

It looks so realistic and with the game play it really makes for a pleasant experience. Sometimes I just like to sit down and just drive around the free, open world and for me to do that, I like to have music. I personally really liked the soundtrack of horizon 2 and it really contributes to that relaxing feel. I also like how there is so much to do being an open world racer. Things such as bucket lists, speed traps, championships there is so many things to do that you hardly get bored. The online free roam and online road-trips are amazing as well. It's a really fun experience and I especially like how the game rewards racers with skills instead of just barging into one another and having a scrappy finish. That leads on to skill points. I really enjoyed drifting, gaining air time and doing skills to earn skill points. There are 25 skill perk available (I believe) I really enjoy that side as I felt it gave me something to aim for and,at the end, would have a perk such as 'Its the lottery' which enabled you to get better prizes on the wheelspin. The online is also more rewarding if you're with a friend. In the road to the horizon finale I really enjoyed the side quests after championships such as train in vain. The cars sound amazing as well, especially if you have it in bonnet cam. My only negative of Forza Horizon 2 is that I feel it's quite easy to get a really good car early on in the game, as you earn credits easily. Whether that be from wheel spin, which is also intriguing to see what you get, or, do some online racing. I found myself with a Lamborghini Huracan with still 13 more championships left and 500,00 credits in the bank. Overall Forza Horizon 2 is the best racing game on the xbox one market and if you haven't picked it up yet... Go do it now! Trust me Expand
