Forsaken Remastered is a genuinely faithful recreation of the original, with just a little touch of smoothing over the visuals and the excellent addition of all previous content.

Sometimes, playing a game from decades ago is more gratifying than picking up the latest and supposedly greatest games. Working through the massive campaign is such a blast and I couldn't recommend Forsaken Remastered enough for fans of the genre.

With today’s modern additions such as leaderboards and online multiplayer for 16 players, Forsaken: Remastered’s 360-degree movement gives it something unique in today’s crowded shooter market. It might just be the resurgence needed for a game that didn’t get a chance to shine all those years ago.

The controls in the game surprised me a great deal because I didn’t expect them to feel as tight and responsive throughout as much as theyThe controls in the game surprised me a great deal because I didn’t expect them to feel as tight and responsive throughout as much as they did. Without a doubt Forsaken has never looked and sounded better and whilst it isn’t perfect I appreciate the effort that has gone into the presentation. It was really fun revisiting this game again because the gameplay is as fun as ever and it’s definitely aged well despite it being year’s old. Back in the day I found this game to be pretty frustrating at times, but thankfully I didn’t get as frustrated this time around because this version feels much more fair.
There is a decent amount of content for you to get to grips with and it will no doubt keep fans of the game satisfied for quite a while. I found that the game wasn’t as difficult as it was back in the day it’s still quite difficult and this high difficulty may be off-putting for some. Unfortunately the game is missing a few items which were in the N64 version and it would’ve been nice to have seen these items included. Does Forsaken Remastered do enough to get a recommendation from me? I was really excited to learn that Forsaken was getting a remaster and I bet I wasn’t the only one either because the original has quite a big following. Thankfully if like me you loved the original then I’m pretty certain that you’ll love this remaster because you can tell almost immediately that this game has had a lot of thought and effort placed into a number of areas and without a doubt this for me is the best version of the game because even though it’s missing a few items it plays better than ever and in a way it’s breathed new life into a game which is of course a bonafide classic.
