    Overall, Forgotton Anne is a phenomenal addition to any gamers collection. From the character development to the beautiful hand-drawn art all the way through the game, it is evident that love went into this game. You'll see that from the beginning all the way to the end. Go out and buy this! I promise you, this will not be a game that will soon be forgotton.

    Forgotton Anne is a lovely looking game, with the constantly moving art really impressing as you advance on the adventure, creating a world full of interesting characters. The story starts slow but comes into its own as you delve deeper, with sadness, humour and joyful moments all part of the experience lasting over six hours. Capping it off is a beautiful orchestral soundtrack that is often relaxing and never feels out of place.

    Forgotton Anne houses a gorgeously fitting art direction that’s not too dissimilar to Laputa: Castle in the Sky. This design sits extraordinarily well with its carefully crafted platforming and puzzle elements, collectively putting forward a wonderful adventure that never loses its grip. The dialogue may well be hit and miss at times, but the overarching plot is captivating, well paced and thoroughly entertaining.

    A fascinating interactive anime, with an adult story, satisfying gameplay and great art and sounds. Some bugs and imprecise controls show it could have been refined more, but it's definitely a worthy experience and one of the most interesting adventures released lately.

    Those who already enjoy anime in both its art and its typical sensibilities will likely adore the game. Others who may have avoided anime to date but enjoy a story-driven adventure game should not overlook it either. Its premise is strange, but always charming and engrossing too. Issues with controls and platforming hinder the experience, but not enough to sour all the good that is present, like subtly branching storylines and a host of memorable characters. Anime fan or not, you won't easily forget it.

    I love a game that has a story that interests you from the get go but unfortunately if a game has a very good story then often or not theI love a game that has a story that interests you from the get go but unfortunately if a game has a very good story then often or not the gameplay tends to take a backseat or it ends up having quite a few problems littered throughout. Forgotton Anne though is one of them rare games that manages to do both aspects extremely well and in the end it delivered in almost all areas, which is great. Without a doubt the best thing about this game is its story. The story hooks you in straight away and it never lets you go throughout your time with the game because it stirs up a number of different emotions and you become attached to the characters quite a lot. Speaking about the characters each different one is interesting and unique, and the best thing is that they make the world that’s present in the game come alive in all areas. Another thing that makes the world come alive is the choices you have to make in the game. Each choice you have to make feels very important and by making each choice matter you become even more invested in the story and what’s taking place on the screen. In terms of the gameplay there are quite a few mechanics in play at the same time and for the most part they hold up really well. You would think that they would focus more on the story than the gameplay, but that’s not the case here because they’ve put an equal amount of effort in both and by doing this it makes the gameplay both challenging and rewarding at the same time. Whilst the gameplay is very good for the most part it does have a couple of niggling problems present from time to time. The main niggling problem is that the controls that have been implemented don’t always feel responsive and precise and this can cause you a few problems every now and then especially when you’re involved in some platforming events. You will also get a frustrated with a few puzzles in the game because some of them do overstay their welcome a little bit. I was however able to look past this because most of the puzzles are intersting and have quite a bit of variety going for them. One of my favourite things about this game was without a doubt the presentation. Visually the hand-drawn art style is packed full of charm and when you combine this with the excellent sound design and voice acting you end up becoming even more immersed in the game’s fantastic story. At the end of the day I can’t recommend Forgotton Anne enough. It’s managed to combine a number of different elements together extremely well and when these elements are in full flow you end up having an adventure that stays with you long after you’ve completed the game.… Full Review »
