Keep dancing. Keep feeling. Keep grooving, and let the universe guide you to Floor Kids. Though perhaps when it’s on sale.

Floor Kids isn’t a bad game per se, it’s actually quite fun during the initial stages of play. The drawback, however, is that the game fails to shake-up its formula throughout. Whilst there may well be some energetic variety as far as its dance mechanic and its character selection is concerned, there’s little else to get excited about. The end result ironically makes for a very monotonous experience, one that gets old, fast.

There is a decent amount of music tracks available in the game and each one has variety meaning things stay fresh when played for short periods. I found the gameplay to be very enjoyable when playing with somebody else and this did keep me coming back for more. There isn’t a ton of content for you to get to grips with the content is unique and it has concepts present that make it stand out from other rhythm games. The tutorials in the game are a little too basic and they don’t explain the more intricate moves you have to do very well. If played for long periods the game does get repetitive because there isn’t much depth to the gameplay. There isn’t a great deal of content for you to sink your teeth into which means the replay ability is a little on the low side. Rhythm games are few and far between and that’s a shame because when done right they can be an incredible amount of fun. The problem with rhythm games though is that they don’t have a lot in terms of replay ability and the fun factor tends to dwindle quickly. Floor Kids is no exception to this shortcoming but even though the replay ability is quite low and it does get repetitive, when played in short bursts it becomes evident quite quickly that this game is a unique addition to this specific genre. One of the biggest things that makes this game unique is its presentation and I must admit that I was very impressed with how good both the visuals and sound design were. The presentation is further enhanced by the variety of music tracks available to you and whilst the game doesn’t have a huge amount of content for you to get to grips with the content that is available will no doubt deliver a number of fun and enjoyable moments. At the end of the day despite Floor Kids suffering with a few shortcomings here and there it still gets more right than it gets wrong and if you’re a fan of rhythm games then you can do much worse than this game.
