    This a pantomine horses arse. Dreadful, arcadey mess of a game that is even more unresponsive. Full of scripting as always and the only changes from 20 made it worse. Good game for a simpleton perhaps. Don’t listen to the fan boys and EA plants on here - buy this game and you’ll regret it. Spend your 90 bucks in the pub instead and have some fun.

    FIFA has a big identity crisis. It tries to add little stuff every year but fails in having good and enjoyable game mechanics. Also, the graphics still suck, certainly compared to its biggest concurrent. It is broken in its very core. It also tries to knock money out of your pocket any chance it gets. EA is a lazy money-minded developer.

    The gameplay is awful, it's like playing 200kg players on ice, the ai got way worse, especially for goalkeepers. It's even less challenging than last years version and improvements in career mode are not only barely noticeable, they also make the gamemode more boring to play. Overall the worst Fifa I played since I started with Fifa 06!

It is really sad what this game has become.

    I am 300 wins 30 losses in fifa 20. 33 wins 3 losses in fifa 21. Why am I complaining? Becoz its awful. Ai defenders can't keep up with attacking runs.     Game is just getting worse. All about pay to win. Game is just about pace and doing random skills the leave defenses in bits. It's not about football at all. You can have an 88 rated striker but if he doesn't have 90 pace he's useless. Can have a 70 rated striker with 90 pace and he'll rip you a new one. Also skill moves are way overpowered, defenders don't know what to do when a skillGame is just getting worse. All about pay to win.     Broken in all aspects. No content added from previous FIFA’s is actually any fun or more use to spend an extra £50 every year. Career is broken with glitches leading to most careers being left 2 seasons in. Boring EA, needs a proper competitor in football games.

    I stopped play FIFA since 17 version. Tried this FIFA21 through EA play trial... wow, it turns to arcade party with fancy none sense dribbling. Not much changed since 17 version to this one.

    The menu navigation on Xbox one X is very slow and annoying... Frustrating that on the best console it's moving that slow. Only from there you want to do exit not to continue anymore.

    Career mode: Although there have been several changes to the mode, the same old gameplay hold back this mode's potential yet again. The simulation aspect to the manager career mode, where you can sim matches and jump in at any time you want, make subs, and change the way your team played, is what the community asked for many years ago. There will be no passes given on that. Also, contract and transfer negotiations still take longer than ever. There is no setting to change the speed of this cutscene, so you must sit there and watch your character barely talk through their lips.
    Ultimate Team: There have been no significant changes to make me want to play this game mode. Another year, another game to advertise to underage children and create bad spending habits. The stadium upgrades was something that I was looking forward to, but with no motivation to actually grind out the FUT Champs and Squad battles modes, there is no reason to play the game. EA continue to screw your decaying body by having a worse pack luck than Fifa 20. I spent $20 on both games to compare how many rare players I would get, and the result was staggering. Not only did Fifa 21 lose to its predecessor, but it was a chore having to watch the same stupid pack opening animation every time I opened one. You get no stars for the absolute shafting you give this game mode every year.
    Key Gameplay Changes: Fifa 21 did make some key gameplay changes with this Fifa. The frequency of attacking runs, and the lethality of these runs have been slightly modified to suit some players needs. However, it just seems like most of the time the players are lazy and not wanting to make attacking runs behind the defense, or opening up in space to receive a pass. It truly doesn't surprise me when EA said they would fix these things, and they are lack luster at best. And to be honest, I think that's all I noticed when actually playing the game. Everything else is STILL THE **** SAME.
    In conclusion, I realize that me saying all of this is not going to change anything, because us football lovers are stuck with Fifa. Playing Fifa is like an abused partner going back to the abusive partner. Battered Wife Syndrome I believe it is called. They keep beating us down with crappy cut-and-paste games every year, and frankly, I don't know what else to do. I just wanted to play a football game that can make me feel something. Some joy, some hope, some self-esteem, and make me feel like what I play is worth it. EA takes advantage of every consumer they manage to persuade. Like that same abusive spouse coaxing their battered partner back with promises, they themselves know they won't keep. What should happen with the next Fifa? It should be cancelled, class-action lawsuits should be filed, and us football lovers should get what we deserve; a loving company, who is willing and determined to give football fans around the world the ability to experience an AUTHENTIC, FUN, and UNCOMPRISINGLY GREAT GAME. I am fully for cancelling yearly releases so that developers can actually make good improvements to a game that I love very much. in closing, Fifa 21, EA, you are a disgrace to consumers around the world. And I hope that someday you will realize that making good games this the key to making money, not this phoney monopoly money you think is good, tangible success. I rate this game a 1/10.    … Expand

There are many horror storys about this. This is the only mode EA care about as nothing has changed in the other modes in half a decade. Avoid at all costs people

    Fifa 21 is the worst fifa in last 5 years. I gave 2 only because they improve career mode a little bit. Gameplay is the worst one i have ever played, as in ut as in career. Sharpness in career is so unneccesary thing. Pace doesnt matter because pique is faster than someone with 90 pace. FIX FIFA!!!!

    It's just FIFA 20 copy and pasted. So many assets are reused from the last game. To charge full price every year for this is just flat out criminal. The career mode has had some new tweaks but the menu and gameplay still feel exactly the same.

    If this was a new IP, then it would score higher (a 6 maybe). But after fifa 14/15 nothing has changed massively. The only improvement, which was a feature in older FIFA games, is the simulation option in Career mode. You can step into the match at any point.

    For the rest, you are playing an old game with new rosters and old bugs that excist for years, which are still not resolved.

    For all those who do not know how stupid this game is, I will only mention the "momentum" / "handicap", which during the match causes your players to move in slow motion, have delayed reactions, cannot pass hard enough to the runner forward and Mbappe is slower than Hummels (really). The AI ​​of the defenders and midfielders in this game is Monty Python. I've already tried all the settings, but they are still passive. They do nothing. The defenders still break the offside line, and the midfielders come back on a slow walk. I understand that the game is created by a North American company, where football was watched by few (maybe it was modeled on MLS). Neglect is evident at every step. FIFA’s online Fantasy Squad Building Mode, Ultimate Team, FIFA still has focus on micro transactions but could the game cranked out remotely and still deliver on the expectations of the football-starved masses of the long time franchise. First impressions point to a subtle update of the kind you might expect under pandemic conditions, but extended game play reveals a game that is fast, fluid and full of ways to score spectacular goals. In comparison, FIFA 21 is outright outrageous. Goalkeepers are no longer easily beaten at the near post, but can barely save anything else. Finesse shots are back along with headers being feasible. You can even chip the keeper possibly too much. Close control while dribbling with elite players is right on par, and you can direct off ball runs using a suite of contextual controls that prove satisfying and fun to master. Overpowered tactics have been refined. Skill moves can be chained together, but complex ones have their issues, and though Team Press is now useful for pursuing the ball when you lose possession but it’s not something you keep up for 90 minutes, which feels more realistic. Football fundamentals feel stronger, most notably on passing. Moving the ball around has always been FIFA fast, but is now clearly tied to the players real capabilities. This emphasis puts the onus on learning to defend, where the odds are stacked against you. The game sports less automatic defensive support, goalkeepers feels as though there are less unfair rebounds as well. You can at least get away with the less effort leg breaker, because refs are more lenient. Away from the pitch, the biggest change to Ultimate Team is the addition of co-operative play. Both will receive rewards and progress for playing, but there’s no online matchmaking, so you’ll need a regular Fifa friend to utilize the feature. Fitness and training cards have been removed as well, which is a welcome update. New stadium customization and “live FUT friendlies” features are less exciting. FIFA 21 also retains and evolves its Career and Volta modes. Career is a single player pursuit that now has shades of Football Manager as you survey games from an overview and develop players by converting them to new positions as they improve. Volta is five on five street football that lacks depth, but it makes up for that in fun. If you can tolerate the semantics and the fact that it’s basically a playable version of TV ads, the Volta story mode is a solid diversion, I suspect Volta won’t be hot until fully integrated with Ultimate Team. FIFA 21 is off to a strong start. If you’ve played FIFA over the years, you’ll have no trouble picking it up and scoring for fun, and if you want to probe more- there’s a lot of new to learn and the endless siren call of regular Ultimate Team events to keep you coming back for more, even in the absence of any massive new features. Football has been hard to enjoy this year, but FIFA 21 easily makes it easier to enjoy on your Xbox One.… Expand

    Again the same problem with the connection disadvantage and bad server location. It's the same thing every year. For single player it's not that bad as there are many improvements. However for Multiplayer there are no improvemens at all!

    That's a big issue but the rest of the gameplay is fairly good
    Credit where credit is due gameplay is far better
    But menus are buggy and slow
    Especially ultimate team,menus lag for no real reason
    Stadium upgrades is a great little addition
    The removal of fitness items is a fantastic thing, quite the game changer tbh
    Pro Don't listen to these clueless clowns crapping in the game for no real reason
    It's not anywhere near perfect but it's a decent game,best fifa as of right now before the first big patch in a long time

    They improved the passing, and heading in gameplay.
    They also have new features in career mode and FUT, but still disappointed by pro clubs not much changed except for AI customisation.

    The real reason why FIFA 21 is great is because Career Mode got major improvements. I love it. Feels real. Gameplay is better and the game of football is always nice. Overall, this is soccer. And the experience on playing on the pitch is always a dream.

    FIFA 21 is better than FIFA 20 but there is still a lot to become "good" again, not to mention that dribbling became too appealing and the gameplay had no innovations but more bugs, the new development system is the only feature that works 100% in the game the rest contains many fails.

    i love it best game made ever, assassins creed valhalla was a disappointment and same with watch dogs 2 and call of duty world at war sucks ass so im happy at least one game is good this year unlike rainbow six vegas for the xbox 360

    Every year more and more functions are cut off of the game, FUT 21 now forces you to play online to grind for coins, but instead of FIFA 14-15 where you could set FUT matches to be 4min per half now it is 6min and the grind is so insane ppl will abandon the match unless they can easily win, so you will not have a good match online. In an exhibition match (me vs wife) the game gave me a penalty cause the GK (with the ball secured) got up on his feet but there was one player close to him that fall off and well... the game called that a penalty.... this is the worst FIFA I ever played since the first I recall in 94.     Ultimate team is the biggest pay to win scripted pile of trash I’ve ever seen. If you don’t spend money and have an amazing team. You don’t win. Plus it don’t matter about player ratings this year as only a handful of players actually preform.

    Awful. Defending is difficult, shooting is crap, passing is even worse. The amount of blocking is beyond a joke, FUT is just a money whore. Pro clubs is the same sorry sight it's been since fifa 17.

    Pro clubs could be brilliant if they stopped thinking about money and focused on the players would make it a brilliant game mode.

    I refuse to give this company any more money. Played the trial in hope of a new satisfying career but it seems like they've ignored us again. They even rubbed salt in the wound by putting "build a stadium" in FUT? Why cant I do that with Salford in the Prem?

    FIFA 21 hasn't re-written the wheel but it is fun, fast attacking football and hopefully EA have big plans to shake up the franchise next year for its true next-gen console experience.

    Fifa 20 continues its dominance, albeit in the absence of real competition. The new tricks give us more entertaining offense play and the career mode is more dynamic than ever. Volta has also been updated to the point of almost becoming a separate game. Despite this we do notice that EA cannot go further than this on today's consoles, and we look forward to a new entry for the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X.

    Chances are that you’ll already know what you’re getting into with FIFA 21; while it may be broadly similar to last years effort in its game feel, with a few good tweaks and subtle changes, that’s kind of to be expected with an annualised sports franchise. The improvements that have been made across some of the modes are welcome, and offer up new ways to enjoy the series. It’s also rather lovely to look at, and should be a fine showcase for the upcoming Series X|S come launch day!
