For a seasoned hidden object player – particularly those who feel oversaturated with the horror and fantasy themes of the Xbox One library – I can give a Kevlar-guarded recommendation. And if you haven’t played a hidden object game before? It’s hard to make a case, as there are better examples from the same publisher.

Situated in 80's Miami, with tones of the numerous cop shows stationed there, you play the role of a detective. After a body washes up on the beaches of Miami you delve into the murder case of your career, and uncover a twisting plot that uncovers a family's dark secrets. The music and location art set a great mood, but unfortunately it fringe to a halt here. The Hidden Object scenes felt over detailed, and under filled at the same time. Items I would scrutinize get passed over and ignored as possible clues. This clutter could have been used to further the game time, or offer red herrings to explore, and determine as dead ends. The Voice acting was off and on good. Some characters stood out, and had personality all their own, and other not quite so much. I also found most of the characters to have a similar appearence, further striping them of their personality. The Object searching, and uncovering the winding plot was still fun even with these minor issues. As a Cop story, its obviously satire, and its puzzles were fun. Fans of HOPA style games should thoroughly enjoy Family Mysteries, a good addition to your hidden object library on Xbox One. Expand
