Fall of Light doesn’t quite live up to its inspirational material, but even so, this is well worth your time and attention if you’re a fan of the core “Dark Souls” formula. There’s heaps of weapon, enemy and environmental variation across the board, all of which is tethered to an interesting world that’s full of lore and mystery. Camera annoyances to the side, Fall of Light is one that fans of the genre will thoroughly enjoy.

The controls could’ve been explained a little bit better and from time to time the awkwardness of them did cause me to experience a few frustrating moments.
In terms of content the game has a decent amount but it does get repetetive quite quickly so don’t play for long periods. Does Fall of Light: Darkest Edition do enough to get a recommendation from me?
When I first played Fall of Light: Darkest Edition I did notice quite a few similarities with that of the first Dark Souls game, but of course that isn’t a problem because obviously Dark Souls was a masterpiece. Thankfully though this isn’t just a copy and paste of Dark Souls and it does have its own unique quirks thrown in as well which when in full flow make the game very enjoyable. Unfortunately though the enjoyment can dwindle a little bit due to the game’s imperfections and these imperfections without a doubt stop the game from reaching its full potential. That being said the core mechanics have been done brilliantly and when you combine that with the satisfying and exciting combat Fall of Light: Darkest Edition does more than enough to get a thumbs up from me.
