Although I'd never heard of it before it randomly popped up on the Xbox One store, Factotum 90 ended up being an absolutely wonderful puzzle experience, appreciated for the compactness of its design and for the elegance with which it was delivered. Also... Noel and Barbara are kind of impossible not to adore.

Factotum won't baffle you like The Witness, but it will leave you highly satisfied after solving a difficult puzzle. You'll never feel like a genius, as the solutions are never too far out of reach, but you will feel smarter by the end of the game.

All in all, Factotum 90 is not a bad puzzle game. I had a decent little time with it and at the cost of six bucks, I’d say puzzle fans should give it a shot.

Good Portal-like puzzles and a nice sci-fi story make it an entertaining game for lovers of the genre. Too bad it's just single player, as its split screen visual would have been perfect for some local co-op puzzle solving action.

Factotum 90 is certainly not a game that will appeal to everyone, especially if you one of these people who likes to turn off their brain when they play, but for those who like a challenge and want to make the old grey matter work a bit harder, then this might just be the game you are looking for.

Short, simple and fun, Factotum 90 is a must-have addition to any puzzle game fan's collection. With a unique premise and an interesting plot, it only ever tries to be exactly what it is and offers enough of a challenge to be a satisfying experience.

Factotum 90 certainly makes up for with atmosphere, artistic direction and value. The limited exposition and the subdued musical score keeps the tone at soothing levels, creating a pleasant and rewarding experience overall.

Factotum 90 is probably the simplest and easiest puzzle game that I've ever played. You don't have any kind of time limit needed to beat each level so that frustration is completely put aside. To be honest, it took me about 6 hours to fully complete all the 30 levels.

The fiddly controls, narrow field of view and slow pace make this game much more frustrating than it needs to be, but it's built on solid foundations. [Apr 2016, p.90]
