  • Summary: Eternum Ex is a retro platform video game with the look and feel of the '80s arcade cabinet games. Titles that have inspired and most influenced its creation are: Bomb Jack (Tehkan, 1984), Ghosts'n Goblins (Capcom, 1985), Baluba-louk no Densetsu (Able, 1986) and Psychic 5 (Jaleco, 1987).Eternum Ex is a retro platform video game with the look and feel of the '80s arcade cabinet games. Sir Arthur has gotten old... too old. He has lost everything he had and loved, and with nothing more to lose he leaves for Samarnath, an evil subterranean kingdom (which no knight has ever returned alive) in search of treasures, adventures and the most important: five magical orbs that together provide: the Eternal youth.

Thanks to its progressive difficulty curve, and with a path divided into "worlds" of 5 levels each one, Eternum Ex is challenging, addictive and an ode to the nostalgia of the golden age of arcade games.

Eternum EX on Xbox One is a pretty good entry into the increasingly crowded retro market. It’s hard, challenging and, once you get used to the timing of the inputs, it’s good fun.

Eternum Ex is an 8bit 2D Arcade Adventure Game. You are Sir Arthur, Too old now to be a Knight, he ventures out to regain his youth. The gameEternum Ex is an 8bit 2D Arcade Adventure Game. You are Sir Arthur, Too old now to be a Knight, he ventures out to regain his youth. The game has two modes, one with continues and no progression saves, and the other with progression saves, but limited lives, allowing you to start over at the last world you've reached. There are five worlds, each containing five levels. The last level of each world is a tower climb, with a boss battle at the top. This game is very arcade, as score is just as important as advancing the stages. Scattered over the various stages are chests, Red unlocked chests, and Green locked Chests. You can unlock the green chest by Mario Style headbutting them from below, and doing the same to a closed chest of either color will open it. Opening a chest gives it a chance of dropping items that can help you out, like allowing you to throw fire, or blasting all the on-screen enemies to give you a moment's reprieve. The stages get progressively harder, introducing new monsters and spawning in more and more at a time. some moments can be overwhelming as the screen is nearly full of dangers. Fans of Retro style arcade-like games should have a blast with Eternum EX and it's extremely old school style gameplay. Expand
