Their restful prison, where they would remain until the end of time, was foolproof. But thanks to a greedy shop owner and an analog cinephile named Joe, those mischievous creatures not of this world were free once more. They would make Joe pay for disturbing their slumber. Become the alien. Invade Joe's prized film collection. Dodge his remote-controlled attacks as you destroy that which he most cherishes. Be gross. Be evil. Be EPIC. Expand

If you’ve got a handful of pals to entertain, Epic Loon fits the bill and the failure to succeed will only add to the occasion. It’s not a game to be played for long spells though and should you be riding solo, then, frankly, there’s not much point in buying it.

Epic Loon is a game of that ilk and to say I enjoyed and had some crazy fun with this game would be a massive understatement. From the moment I first saw it I knew this was a game for me and after sinking a few hours into it I’m pleased to say it didn’t disappoint. Without a doubt from the moment you play Epic Loon you’ll be addicted straight away. The gameplay is fast and fluid and at the same time it delivers a fun yet challenging experience throughout. I would recommend though that you take it easy at first and get used to the gameplay because at the start it can take a bit of getting used to so expect a few frustrating moments every now and then. Thankfully though it doesn’t take long to get used to and you’ll be pleased to know that once you’re used to it there is quite a decent amount of content packed full of variety for you to get to grips with. You’ll also be pleased to know that the technichal side of the game is pretty much perfect. This is very important for me in a game like this because if the controls didn’t always remain responsive then the cheap deaths that would’ve no doubt come from that would’ve been a massive turn off for me so I’m pleased they got this aspect of the game spot on. There is something in the game that did turn me off a little bit though and that is the swearing. Don’t get me wrong I don’t mind swearing every now and then but Epic Loon seems to push it down your throat to the point of being rude. That being said that was basically my only real gripe about the game and when it’s all said and done it gets a lot more right than it gets wrong. One thing it especially gets right is the level design. Each level has been designed extremely well and the amount of variety present in them meant it was very easy for me to carry on even if I died multiple times on the same level. The presentation side of the game plays a big part in making the level design so good and I was especially fond of the visual side of the game which definitely had a uniqueness to it. At the end of the day if you love platformers with a twist then you will absolutely adore Epic Loon. In a way this game isn’t like any other game and because everything has been done really well I can see this being a game I return back to time and time again. Expand
