This is an awful game. The only redeeming quality is the variety in the gameplay. Before I look up the studio I assumed it was developed by a 15 year old who had just gone onto the Unity asset store bought some stuff and put it together and I could respect that, but when I found out that actual adults (and I assume people who would call themselves professional game designers) worked onThis is an awful game. The art style is awful, the hitboxes are awful and for the fighting/platforming sections this is a real issue. The scenes where you have to dodge things like cars or dogs (yes dogs) are made far worse because you simply can't see far enough ahead to react in time and there's no warning they are coming. Expand

I could almost recommend Doug Hates His Job as a cheap, quick palate cleanser between meatier experiences, but for just a few dollars more than what Doug costs, any number of better experiences could be had. It’s tough to make a case for purchase here.

Jumbled, infuriating, and unfinished are a few choice adjectives I can attribute to Doug Hates His Job. The panoply of gameplay styles it wants to flex should be treated as a canary in the coal mine for other young developers. The mockumentary approach makes its dull humor more of a mockery than of the white-collar job climate it’s lampooning. As a result, Super Villain Games succeeded in helping me relate to Doug's plight in one crucial way: hating my reviewing job — if only for a short time.

It may offer a variety of crazy situations but the core gameplay of Doug Hates His Job is nothing short of sloppy and irritating.
