    Id actually give it an 8 but there are so many god damn 12 year olds that were not even alive when the first Devil May Cry came out voting this game down because Dante does not have "white hair" its getting stupid.

    To counter act the nobends I must say the following: Capcom have stated its a parallel universe and not part of the main DMC line of games.     To counter act the nobends I must say the following:

    Capcom have stated its a parallel universe and not part of the main DMC line of games. They are making the 5th one as we speak.

    The game plays fantastic , Dante hair does turn white, Dante has stupid one liners, Dante thinks he is Gods gift to women, Vergil and Mundus are still dicks. Its DMC by the numbers I dont get some of the hate this game gets U_U    … Expand

    Nice mechanics, awesome combo system, variety of weapons, wonderful section designs are really nice hacks and slashes. It flows officially but the story is a bit dull and Dante .. I say that I do not say it but one of the bad sides of the game is that Dante is really an emo character. Luckily I have the "Classic Dante" costume and the "DMC1" costume I played the whole game with thatNice mechanics, awesome combo system, variety of weapons, wonderful section designs are really nice hacks and slashes. It flows officially but the story is a bit dull and Dante .. I say that I do not say it but one of the bad sides of the game is that Dante is really an emo character. Luckily I have the "Classic Dante" costume and the "DMC1" costume I played the whole game with that costume. Apart from these, the bosses are really easy. I did not expect it to be so easy playing Devil in hunter mode. I did not have much trouble except Bom Barbas boss. Anyway, it's a not bad Devil May Cry game.     Amo cada segundo del juego, el combate frenético, la dificultudad, la historia, todo es bastante perfecto, lo que mas me encanta de el juego es hacer combos y combinaciones diferentes, la historia esta muy bien, los graficos, todo, no hay ningún error que le encuentre al juego, lo que mas me encanta es que hay diferentes armas que usar, y no te obliga a usar solo una en los combates, yAmo cada segundo del juego, el combate frenético, la dificultudad, la historia, todo es bastante perfecto, lo que mas me encanta de el juego es hacer combos y combinaciones diferentes, la historia esta muy bien, los graficos, todo, no hay ningún error que le encuentre al juego, lo que mas me encanta es que hay diferentes armas que usar, y no te obliga a usar solo una en los combates, y todos tienen algo diferente que las hace únicas!… Expand

    I like DMC sense of humor. The game is nice, playable and offers everything that you should expect of demon slasher. Combat system is a pro here, many types of attacks, we all know that. But what more? Play classic Dante, not that "don't know what". There are some minor problems with camera and moving character, some locations are extremely difficult to reach.     An excellent game? It sure is! AA good reboot? More like a good side story than a reboot. DMC is a "reboot" of the famous Devil May Cry series that was released back on the Playstation 2 which casts you as the new, but not so much improved, Dante who is being hunted down by Mundus, a Lex Luthor lookalike. Dante teams up with his brother Virgil and a human companion named Kat so thatAn excellent game? It sure is! AA good reboot? More like a good side story than a reboot. DMC is a "reboot" of the famous Devil May Cry series that was released back on the Playstation 2 which casts you as the new, but not so much improved, Dante who is being hunted down by Mundus, a Lex Luthor lookalike. Dante teams up with his brother Virgil and a human companion named Kat so that together, they can finally take down Mundus. It's a really good action game with unique weapons that are both holy and unholy, an upgrade system that actually has relevance and aren't for stupid stuff like shooting accuracy like in Watch Dogs. You also have some variations in enemy types like colored enemies in red and blue to signify which weapon hurts them and you also have somewhat disturbing boss fights. Playing this on the Xbox One feels pretty damn good. I can't speak for the other versions but I can assume that they must play pretty good too. Plus, you can even play with the classic Dante costumes from the original series and some other special costumes. There is one in the end that just color swaps the hair to white but thankfully, like I mentioned earlier, you have the real Dante costumes in this game. There is also a DLC side game that tells the story of happened to Virgil after the ending of this game which is I thoroughly enjoyed and took it for what it was like I did with DMC as a whole. Is it a worthy reboot of a beloved franchise? Not a chance in hell. However, if you take it as a side story, like how Dragonball GT is to the Dragonball Z universe, then I'm sure the enjoyment level will skyrocket for you. But be weary, the personality of Dante is somewhat cringeworthy at times but can be gotten used to when the story progresses. Overall, a well polished game with a minor jab that happens toward the beginning of the game that keeps me from giving this game a 10.… Expand

    Se não tivesse o nome "Devil May Cry", certamente seria muito mais amado. Pois sua gameplay é uma das melhores do gênero, mesmo que sua historia seja bem fraca.

    If only all the other 60 frame a second games played like this. I generally rank these games like god of wars. I didn't care for God of war. But it reminds me of dark siders. I like the music and the one off feel.
    The price was right and your missing out on one of the best games in prior years should you pass this up. They only had one copy on the Xbox one left at my store.

    I have played ever single dmc game but this game beats all except 1 and 3 so i will give it a 10 even though it dose have a missed up version of Dante it has a awesome set of levels and great action game play

    this is a good game, the only error is that CAPCOM called it Devil May Cry. i am writing this review because there is still people saying "this game is trash" without having played it...

    I found this game outstanding. The combat is fun, it never gets stale because you are consistently given new ways to open up your combos. The scoring system is fair and gives you a fantastic sense of achievement when you get that SSS rank.
    The highlight of the game for me was everything surrounding the gameplay however. The characters' facial animations are spot on and the voice acting    I found this game outstanding.     I love this game, everything in it is special, I have finished it in the ''Nefilim (hard)'' difficult, and now I have a new difficult, when I finish that I will have 3 new!!! Just amazing...

    The 60 fps makes a bigger difference than I previously thought! Nice & smooth!!! I changed the game to "hardcore mode" and I am no longer getting anymore SSS style points, thanks fanboys!! lol But seriously now that they have mostly fixed the combat, and added some difficulty levels I can see myself playing this for a while, and its a good thing too because the Xbone has no other hack nThe 60 fps makes a bigger difference than I previously thought!     Superb game made better with the new turbo mode. Combat system is awesome. Story is fine... i dont know why people moan about it. I really believe that people think if they give it bad enough feedback that capcom will go back to the old devil may cry. Personally, i'd love to see both.     This is the best Slasher of 2013. Best gameplay of the series and fantastic
    atmosphere. One big minus is a characters and story, but story was never best side of the franchise. New modes is interesting and fun and of course gorgeous 1080p60fps

    WOW this game is incredible! The dreamy worlds, badass enemies, epic comabt and the whole feel of the game really sucked me in. Never played a DMC before and glad i didn't because the fluid 60fps makes this so much better!
    Only miniscule minus I have is the rock music in combat. Although I do like the music I feel it pulls me a little bit out of the excitement and atmoshpere this game    WOW this game is incredible!     Devil May Cry is a good game but there is no reason of making a more HD version of the game. DMC Definitive Edition did nothing new but just make it look better and then you want to tell me about the new costumes but that does not warrant a butter looking game with the same controls. even the makers of this game know it just a copy and paste game that the game is $40 it not worth buyDevil May Cry is a good game but there is no reason of making a more HD version of the game.     Tameem Antoniades self insertion as a videogame character is a joke,dumb down gameplay,ham-fisted history with tryhard edgy characters makes this the perfect example why graphics are not everything in a game

C'est bien entendu aussi pénible pour la manette que pour le pouce et le bras lui-même qui se crispe et se fatigue à répéter les appuis forcenés sur les touches afin de distribuer les mandales que réclament les vermines innombrables de l'Enfer... avec évidemment 10 coups pour chaque monstre. Ou 20 ou 30, on ne compte plus. Sans compter les boss, cela va de soi.

    Pendant ce temps, un filet de bave dégouline de la bouche, la cervelle n'appréciant que modérément cet exercice d'endurance de marteau-piqueur dégénéré pour manette. Des cinématiques (avec une espèce d'histoire, si, si) amènent des pauses bienvenues mais insuffisantes dans cette purge démoniaque répétitive qui n'en finit pas. A noter que par ailleurs des passages de plate-forme tentent de varier en vain cette litanie débilitante.

    Au moins, la réalisation est d'un assez bon niveau et bénéficie des 60 im/s, une caractéristique souvent trop rare qu'il faut saluer. Autre surprise avec la présence d'une VF de qualité, très rare dans les jeux des éditeurs japonais !

    A moins d'être un salary man défoncé au saké, on ne saurait trop recommander d"éviter ce "jeu" qui n'en est pas un, trop pénible pour être amusant en quoi que ce soit.    … Expand

If you've never played it before, then you've skipped out on a stellar action title. Although it's a non-canon entry, DmC: Devil May Cry is arguably the best entry in the series.     DmC is my first meeting Devil may Cry game. And know what? it is cool, fun, omg, look at that combo! Everything in this game is fun, music, characters, level design, visual and etc, etc.
    I've played in Devil may Cry 5, that also great game, but DmC from Ninja Theory is just my love!!

    an excellent game even if this isnt cannon i think its better than capcoms Devil May Cry Series part 3 even fails were this doesnt specifically in the way weapon changes can be incorporated even the controls are perfect for dmc and i will use this control scheme if i can in the other titles i own all of them now and will experiment with changing the control scheme in dmc1, 2, 3, 4 and 5an excellent game even if this isnt cannon i think its better than capcoms Devil May Cry Series part 3 even fails were this doesnt specifically in the way weapon changes can be incorporated even the controls are perfect for dmc and i will use this control scheme if i can in the other titles i own all of them now and will experiment with changing the control scheme in dmc1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 apart from that i love this dmc for more than the Capcom versions… Expand
