    Unfinished garbage. Just after everyone realized how boring the endgame is, i.e. doesn't exist, they gutted every class. Their solution to having a boring endgame was make it take longer to get to endgame.

    Instead of addressing class bugs like the minion necro and making it more playable, Blizzard seems to be more focused on turning the game into a grind-fest due to the live service model.

    It's a bit disappointing as players would prefer improvements in quality of life and bug fixes rather than increasing the grindiness of the game.

    The vast majority of the public, on all channels, on all social networks, did not like the changes and nerfs, every day asking everywhere for Blizzard to change and improve what they did and they just don't care about us.

    blizzard decided to slow the already slow game, nerf the already crappy loot, and fix 0 actual gamebreaking bugs that are hurting the community in first patch... but they can hotfix shakos out in minutes if they feel players are getting them too often... don't buy

    The game was launched at an "ok" state. Good enough to have some fun. The grinding and itemization was pretty terrible though. On 07/18/23 however they released patch 1.1 which has completely and utterly ruined the game.

    Damage was nerfed significantly. Survival was nerfed significantly. XP was nerfed significantly. Cool down reduction was nerfed significantly. All the multiplicative affixes butchered and yet Vuln, Crit, armor, cd post nerf still far outweighs the additive dmg buffs....this change solely destroys eternal realm and pushes you into seasonal as you now need seasonal malignant hearts to get anywhere NEAR TO VANILLA dmg and even then your survivability will not compare. All wePatch 1.1 ruins the game and this is not an exaggeration. All we have to do is a little knapkin math. vuln crit cd armor still BiS post patch. 100x 25+25 is still far less than 100x1.25+1.25. Vuln crit cooldown reduc and armor still only stats to roll same as armor so this patch doesn't change damage buckets at all it just kills the Eternal server, forces you into seasonal server and destroys literally any fun that this game had to offer. The additive buffs are literally irrelevant. This patch kills s1 hype completely. This review is from a lvl 100 Twisting Blades Rogue who despite the insane lack of end game content was still having a ton of fun before this new patch. I'm boycotting s1 and probably won't return w s2 unless major rollback to these changes. This is a " wait till the first major expansion" game now.… Expand

    Players provided plenty of quality feedback yet Blizzard took that and thought to do the opposite. Most recent patch, to me, renders the game unplayable. I feel like I got robbed. The beta was so fun, which is why I got the game, but now they have literally CHANGED THE ENTIRE WAY THE GAME IS PLAYED. For more money.

    After spending approximately over 2000 hours in Diablo I and over 5000 hours in Diablo II, this feels like a game made by 2 teenagers with google searches on a Friday night drinking spree. I regret buying this product and I feel scammed. Sadly I cannot sue them for this scam because I would in a heartbeat

    Reduce exp gain, add more walls, slow them down, make them wait longer.

    1.1 patch is a giant dumpster fire. Anything past level 80 is completely pointless. There have been no meaningful QOL changes that have been desperately needed already, not even but a little over a month after launch. 90% of what the community has asked for has been ignored/communication has been radio silent. I do not recommend touching this game for at least another year at this rate

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As a game playtester myself, this is a AAA++ title, released for full retail price, that is in reality a beta. I have played enough beta versions, pre-release titles by indie devs to see it plain as day. Do not spend money on this game. Do not support this company, do not support Microshaft/Blizzard/Activision/King. There are shameful business practices in place to milk the consumer of every single dollar & cent possible, with zero shame or remorse. The cash shop was in place on pre-release. IE, myself, someone who paid for the Ultimate Edition, aka I could physically not pay more for the retail price of the game, was not given 100% of the game's content, which was behind a paywall. This is the OnlyFans of video games. More than a bait and switch, there is no fish, no meat. The game itself is dull, boring and uninspiring.

    The story is this: Lilith is back, you chase her around, a **** ton of every potentially interesting NPC dies and leaves, and you go and put Mephisto's soul in a new soul stone you craft. Because Lilith was after him to try to gain power so she could stop the war on Sanctuary. You then go and murder Lilith cuz reasons. My own character is not my own character; they are an NPC added in last minute, in what I would refer to as Lilith the MMO, or Diablo IV beta, take your pick. The story has no good plot to it, I skipped nearly all of it as my own character has nearly zero interactions. You will sit and watch cutscenes that don't involve your own character at all, engage in "dialogue" that your own character barely has any lines for, and then run to kill more meaningless bosses, to go and sit and watch other NPC's chat.

    This is by far, the worst video game I have ever played. Items are bad, loot is bad, voice acting is bad, music is bad. The art is amazing...but I can't tell where my character needs to walk, as I can't make out a door from a wall.

    The game itself is not fun. My own motto for a slogan for it would be, "I can't keep from putting it down!" You will have 99% boredom playing alone. The forced multiplayer is a giant detractor for me. You will have kids running up to you, spamming the voice emotes, ruining your immersion. Speaking of, your own hero will never feel as such. Just another generic adventurer, dashing around town to try to scrap maybe an ounce more power out of the **** gear you have found. As the game also has leveled enemies. So you will always face the exact same level as your own, you never feel strong, or powerful. There is no going back to farm a previous zone or region, to possibly get new items for a new character or new build you might want to try. You can get say, x1 item for something new, hope to try a build around that & miserably fail.

    This game is bad, bad beyond words, bad beyond comprehension. As a writer I can't think of any more blistering, scathing, deep seated rage & anger I've felt while in a game before, at having played this pile of trash. I've been called slurs in WoW that had less negative impact on me than this game experience has had on me, overall. From playing both betas, which were just server stress tests, with carrots of cosmetic items to get people to get playing the game initially. To the first x2 hours in game, dying, and realizing I had zero interest in even starting over again, no desire to play the Zero FunTM beginning of the game again. Where your hero is duped into helping some villagers, poisoned and is ready to be sacrificed to Lilith, when you have blood petals poured down your throat, which you puke up shortly after, but seems to really do nothing at all story wise after. Your own "character" is only important to the story, as a fact because they had an interaction w/ Blizzard's version of their own, "fan favorite" NPC in the franchise. There is barely a mention of Diablo, at all, in this entire Diablo game.

    I can not strongly enough express my boredom in playing this game. it is horrible, if there was ever a game that was an Anti-Diablo 2, as fun and a masterpiece as that was, this game is it. It is anti-fun mechanics on top of boring gameplay on top of bland music, dull, lifeless world and no content. It's a cash grab, not a business model. It is not, "just the way things are." I paid for an early release of the video game, The Forest. As it was from a tiny developer at the time, one who would need revenue to continue a project. This is the exact opposite of Blizzard, now a part of one of literally the largest companies on the planet. The cash shop is beyond ludicrous for its prices, most of which are 1/3 the base cost of the full retail game, for a single set. No cosmetic should cost more than barely a few dollars, for a free game at that. There should never, ever be a cash shop for a game that has a full retail cost.

    Game was covered by an awesome story and animations but once you dig deep itemization sucks which was supposed to be the heart of any arpg game such as Diablo. It’s true that the old Blizzard is dead. Pre-season was decent 6/10 but from there just down the drain. Will not pre order Blizzard games on the foreseeable future.

    The once great Blizzard North was bought out over a decade ago and none of the brilliant minds still work there at what is now called Activision Blizzard. I didn't know this until after buying D4. Blizzard pumps out flashy games with no substance and puts the Blizzard stamp on it to cash in on nostalgia and utilize predatory in game cash transaction practices. Their games are pure marketing & sales. Look at reviews for any of their games in the last decade. I wish I had.

    As more and more people reached the end game and realized how truly lacking in depth this game really is, the tone amongst Reddit, Twitter, Discord, and Forums started to shift. That was two weeks ago.

    The fact is, people are getting bored. This is an ACTION RPG with slow-paced action. It's a LOOT hunter with boring loot. This is an MMO with no social aspects. A dungeon crawler that feels more like a game of fetching the stones and putting them on the pedestals.

    The cracks are starting to show in the end game, and people feel like we're playing a paid Beta, you decide now is the time to drop a patch that **** on every build. What better way to push everyone over the edge than to nerf everything?

    Damage? NERF
    Defense? NERF
    Cooldown? NERF
    XP? NERF
    Power Leveling? NERF
    Helltide? NERF

    Sure, some builds needed to be fixed, but you didn't have to completely gut entire classes while you were at it. But the nerfs are not even the point of this post. I don't even care about them. I'll adapt and overcome, I'm not afraid of a challenge. But this patch made me really think, why play season 1 at all? You didn't address a single one of the NUMEROUS valid complaints about this game.

    6 new uniques? If you think adding 6 new unique items for every 3 month season is an acceptable pace to bring some depth to the sorely lacking itemization in this game, I might as well not play until season 30.

    No leaderboards? No in-game trading with an option for self-found mode? No paragon board reset? No Occultist changes? (Cost or listing possible outcomes) No group finder? No stash tabs?

    Nothing, in fact. Not a single thing to shine a bit of light on this **** sandwich. You made the game slower. Mobs take longer to kill, and yield less xp, and we're now gated to lower world tiers until the "recommended" (now mandatory) levels of 50 for WT3 and 70 for WT4.

    So on Thursday, we're expected to start over, but this time it's all slower, less fun, time & experience gated. And all to get to the end and realize what an unfinished and lacking game this really is. Again. Still.

    Maybe if you spend less time trying to "balance" a SINGLE PLAYER PVE GAME WHERE NOBODY CARES ABOUT BALANCE, and more time adding things that are actually fun and immersive, you might sell more battle passes and cosmetics.

This is designed to push people into engaging with the battle pass, which only rewards free players (although I use that term lightly on a game that comes with a triple A price tag) up until the midway point. This comes with MOST of a set, however the final piece is locked behind the paywall. This is intentional manipulation.. it's an common ploy to take advantage of the unease of a partial set. It might not work on you, but it doesn't have to. Enough people will be pushed into buying the pass for this reason alone, regardless of the completely lack luster design of the free items. This is scummy on its own, but that's only the beginning!!! The seasonal quests begin with trivial tasks to lure players into rapidly progressing through the early rewards and ramp up the challenge towards the end so the average user won't be able to complete it. But that's okay!!!! Blizzard has kindly graced us with the solution!!!! You can just pay to skip to the end!!! I wish this was the end of it, but the final issue is what really tips it over the edge. They provide players with a little premium currency. Not enough to buy anything, but some.. this is to coerce people into buying the next season pass. It's designed to cause players to think it reduces the price of the next season to only a few dollars, but the premium currency packs don't even out. And it never will. The season passes don't provide any gameplay enhancements, but they don't need to. They only need to lure in a player once. The game isn't going to be designed around player enjoyment, it's going to be centered around separating you from your money. This isn't a "games as a service" it's a whale farm. As a reminder, this is the FIRST season, in a triple A game!!!! They still haven't fixed the issues littering the game (resistances, uber unique drop rates, and inventory management), they still haven't fixed significant bugs, they still haven't balanced the skills limiting players to a handful of builds, and they still haven't added a fulfilling endgame. They're still missing core content, they haven't even introduced diablo... In a diablo game... They still haven't added sets, some classes are borderline unplayable, but they have the audacity to ask for more from us!!! This game had SO MUCH potential, it has the best story to date, the graphics are amazing, and the community is incredible!!! This is a series I loved!!!! I grew up with it, this series was on par with final fantasy vii and legend of Zelda ocarina of time to me!!! I was a dedicated fan, but this is the end for me. It was fun, it really.. really was.     This is not a game, it is a platform for Blizzard sell cosmetics, battles passes and any other stuff they will implement down the line. They ruined WoW, Overwatch and now Diablo IV turn.

    Nightmare dungeons : bugged. You can't go in with friends because you will be desynchronised 1 dungeon out of 2.

    08/06/23 22h30 GMT+1 : Crash server. Can't play. Only 2 days since release.

    Enough with server problems. There's also class balance problems. Barbarian is Godlike, rogue is too squishy (gets one shotted by almost everything), necromancer has literraly 0 mobility, druid is unkillable, and sorcerer is the only balanced class.

    Let's talk about campaign : Act 1, 2, 3 ,4 and 5 are Star Wars Disney tier. Act 6 is a real masterpiece.
    Campaign boss fights are for retarded ppl. they have 0 mechanics, they just have a ton of hp.
    Only Lilith have a real boss fight. And Elias after the campaign will have a real boss fight too.

    The Artistic Direction is perfect. that's why i give them 1 point.
    Sound Design is good, but Lost Ark is better at it.

    There's a lack of features in the UI. We can't see other player's profile. there's no statistics, can't watch playtime, there's no ladder.
    There's no search bar for items in the stash. Gems take too much space

    And there's a ton of other bugs, like sometimes you can't use any ability or dash. Sometimes the horse's pathfinding will totally bug. Cinematics will sometimes bug when you play with friends, only 1 in the group will the dialogues / cinematics.

    There's no diversity in the bestiary and the dungeon bosses or in the decorations. All monsters are recycled with different color, and they are spread all over the entire map. Dungeons are procedural but you will see always the same monsters in them.
    Dungeon Bosses are catastrophic. Distant / Mage bosses are retarded, they do no damage so you can just burst them with any build.
    Melee Bosses are a nightmare, they run faster than you, have an attack speed higher than the light speed. So you almost can't kite them and if you don't play barbarian, druid or sorcerer frost you'll just instant die.

    To sum up, this game is **** tier and doesn't deserve your money, let Blizzard sink.    … Expand

    sometimes we drop several items on the ground and as the backpack is small we don’t want to pick everything up and in the other diablos I could hold the ALT and hover the mouse and have a visualization of the item on the ground without needing to grab it to decide to pick it up or not

    when I watch a video I don’t know if the player is a hardcore player or not, when I go to my friends list to invite someone to join the group, I don’t know if the player is a hardcore player or not, if it were possible to play together, fine, but it’s not It’s possible so I need to know with an icon or other things if he’s playing in normal or hardcore, as was possible in other games of the franchise…

    the very big interface that gets in the way mainly with huge names on the item floor, horrible for those who play on a larger screen and especially in 4k because you usually play close to the screen since you have no problem seeing pixels because it is in 4k (if you play in 4k super far from the screen you are throwing money away yes)

    Pre access was fun. Game freezes when mounting or riding horses. All the time. Game crashes because of this. Nothing has been done. Don’t sell it on Xbox One if it doesn’t work. Also. Shop prices are ridiculous. Skins cost half as much as the entire game cost. I’m not allowing digital goods to be scammed out like that. They need to get real or get bent.
