    I am age 42 & played a lot of Diablo 2 when it came out. I am also a professional video game programmer.

    Pros: => Great for game preservation. I really hope this is successful so more games can be preserved like this. => Console controls when moving and attacking are really amazing. IMO, this is the number 1 reason to go back and play this game if you are an old gamer ... to play    I am age 42 & played a lot of Diablo 2 when it came out.     Pros:
    => Great for game preservation. I really hope this is successful so more games can be preserved like this.

    => Console controls when moving and attacking are really amazing. IMO, this is the number 1 reason to go back and play this game if you are an old gamer ... to play from your sofa on a console. Given this is a "remaster" of PC, not a full "remake", it really has been done amazingly. Compare this to other games (like Titan Quest) who tried to do the same thing with an older game, the combat controls are amazing!

    => I love the skill system and classes in this game. Diablo 3 was weird with skills. IE: You have a bow equipped, but can use a fist skill. You have a bow equipped .... NEVER shoot arrows unless you have the crappy "normal attack" assigned, which is buried, nobody uses and just gimps your character. D3 skills and animations are just WEIRD. Diablo 2 just makes sense. You actually use your weapon you have equipped. You have a normal attack and then skills that consume mana. My brain just comprehends and accepts this easily.

    => I care about LOOT in this game. I never really did in Diablo 3. I just looked at up or down arrows, and didn't read stats all too much. IMO D3 gives you way too much magic loot. It gives you so much loot that its all meaningless & its so good on the drops, very early on, that the merchants are meaningless.
    In Diablo 2 however, I truly read what each piece of loot does. I actually wear non-magic loot sometimes. I also save up to buy things from the merchants. I also like how the stats don't change much over time. How constant the normal weapons are is similar to Dungeons & Dragons or Elder Scrolls, and I dig that. IE: A basic dagger will do the same damage for every plain dagger you find. Somehow this makes me care more about each piece of loot I get. It also end up learning their stats when they drop so the earlier stuff you don't even have to read the description for non-magical items.

    Neutral:
    => Updated graphics are great for the most of the game view. BUT ... USER INTERFACE still has rough edges for Blizzard standards. Like the XP bar just moves up statically with no animation and is a yellow square. There's a lot of rough UI elements like that. I get they just wanted to "remaster", but it just looks weird to see things that rough for a $40 Blizzard game by todays standards.

    Cons:
    => The Inventory, Skill & Store interfaces really aren't that amazing. It's a hybrid of console controls and virtual mouse with console stick. A virtual mouse is notoriously the worst way to port a PC user interface, but I understand how they wanted to preserve making shapes in your inventory.

    => Inventory space is so small, potions don't stack. I know they wanted to preserve the original. But you have to go to town SOOO often. lol. I'm sure game design-wise this serves a purpose to force you to manage your loot and think about your inventory more. But if not having stackable potions or expanded inventory was ONLY decided as a safeguard to not offend the whiny purists. Then I wouldn't agree with it. Me? I wouldn't complain if we had stackable potions... I think thats some of my life I cold get back.

    Take away:
    Overall. I am having lots of fun playing this game!

    I'm not mentioning the server problems at launch, because we all know Blizzard will fix them and always has.    … Expand

    i got a really good sale on the Diablo® Prime Evil Collection. Basically got the diablo 3 stuff for free & a discount on D2-R.
    So far i am really enjoying playing D2 before i play the expansion.
    On xbox 1 X it runs very well & looks great, not sure if i would get this on PC but would love to play it on a series X. I don't care too much for playing with other people ATM since my game    i got a really good sale on the Diablo® Prime Evil Collection. Basically got the diablo 3 stuff for free & a discount on D2-R.

    Great nostalgic game for me, and a great new game for my fiance. Absolutely love it minus the few issues on day 1 which were fixed in the first couple hours for the most part.

    This is a remaster done right. Graphically it's very similar to the 2d ones, but in 3d. They've added some new features, which in my opinion haven't really broken anything (picking up gold, shared item box).     I don't understand the whining of players on Metacritic. Guys, this is a remake! Of course, it will have some of the flaws of the original game. As for me, I think the game is just great. Updated graphics and voices, added several useful functions (such as auto-picking gold), the ability to use several character skills at once, in general - solid improvements and such a great game!

    Great game if it was playable. Constant crashes, inability to login, and implementation of a "login queue" as a fix to incompetence are unacceptable. D2 is possibly my favorite game of all time, but after this release I may not even look twice at D4....

    You have verrrrry limited storage and you drop ALL YOUR GEAR when you die. Oh god it is a frustrating mess that doesn't deserve the hype, it's all nostalgia goggles except for the art design and atmosphere, which are excellent

    В целом игра нравится, затягивает не по детски. Оригинал я пропустил , вернее играл в него от силы 2 часа. Вот сейчас так скажем наверстываю упущенное. Ну, а теперь о печальном это он лайн, вернее отсутствие его. Уже который день сервера лежат и играть не возможно своим персонажем, доступен только офлайн персонаж и это очень напрягает и за это столь низкая оценка.     Servers are down more than they are up, even single player suffers roll back, character loss, item loss and the biggest roll backs. It's missing key features they said it would have. All in all, they miss sold this product to us, mislead us, and ultimately have lost all my trust and future purchases. Avoid this like the plague

    I really love Diablo. However it is not playable on xbox. Falling servers all the time and yeasterday I played several hours. today I lost all my progress in game.

    Do not waste your money on this game. Servers have been down for about 8+ hours every morning for the past 9 days. Blizz is not giving refunds even though they completely failed this launch and even went as far as to blame the players for farming to much

    Diablo II Resurrected brings a new breath of life to the 2000 classic with a new graphic layer of the best quality, and some minor touches to its gameplay that makes it more comfortable to play, while remaining true to its roots. And what's more important, its great arrival to consoles has made the title more accessible than ever. Vicarious Visions has proven again that they are one of the best studios at the time to remaster these classics, and we hope that they can achieve to stay afloat on the downward spiral that is isolating Activision-Blizzard lately.
