Very good game even ignoring all the hype. It's one that's going to evolve and grow over time much like a MMO so its hard to give it a final score. The game wont appeal to everyone, but its far from being as bad as all these low scores suggest. Expect this to be a larger and richer game in the future as the universe expands.

Love the game, it is like Halo/Boarderlands. Great music, great graphics, smooth game play and pvp modes. I think the people who don't like this don't play MMO's. There is going to be some repetitive play, because the drive is for gear.

The game is amazing. Mechanics, enemy AI, environments are blowing me away. It takes a while to get better guns and equipment, so don't judge until you're level 12 or so. I can see myself sinking hundreds of hours into this!

Destiny's genre is something very hard to define, its like Halo crossed with borderlands, crossed with mass effect and some MMO type stuff thrown in too. For me that results in a beautiful mix of genres I love.

    - Graphics are pretty solid, very nice background artwork seen in the form of skies and mountain ranges.
    - Solid controls easy to get used to
    - Rewarding upgrade system and levelling
    - Good variety of stuff to do (PvP, solo, co-op strike missions)

I am absolutely hooked on this game and am hoping to be fulfilled with the end game too. If any of the games mentioned above that are similar interest you, definitely check this out.

But most importantly, GIVE IT TIME. Play at least 5-6 hours before you judge it, explore a bit and see what is out there for you to do.

This is a great game, although I don't see $500 million into it I can't wait to play it was soon as I get home even though I've played like 120 hours since it's release.

Not sure what game some of these negative reviewers are playing. But anyways. I'm highly enjoying this one from Bungie. I have a level 10 Hunter and thinking about creating a Warlock. Fantastic gameplay. Looks great on the one. Story has me interested. Is the story as good as Halo? Of course not. It doesn't have to be. Great game all around. Looking forward to playing more.

The superior console to play Destiny on. Better online service (XBLive > PSN), identical visuals (literally. There is no fu*king difference. 1080p = 1080p), better controller.

Fantastic game. Some mildly repetitive stuff once you hit max level but that's the nature of MMOs, not sure why people are complaining. Once you get to L26-28 difficulty stuff the challenge far outweighs the fact you're repeating something. It's like redoing Halo on Legendary with friends, I love it.

The first raid, Vault of Glass, is awesome absolutely loved it.

Bungie, once again, delivers a game changer. Destiny is an absolutely fantastic game. I have been loving Destiny so far. From what I've seen most reviews are talking about this game like it's supposed to be a full game right from the start. So let me start by saying this: every review I have read so far has been a brash comparison to personal expectations of what this game should be. A common comparison I keep seeing is that Destiny should be the Star Wars of video games. For a time, I thought the same thing, and was ultimately disappointed by Destiny during my time with the Beta. After the Beta closed, a strange thing happened: I missed playing Destiny. Mostly because of one thing. It is fun. Really fun. The gun play is spot on. The loot is varied enough that finding it is exciting. The plot (while not up to the standards of "Star Wars" is pretty good for a shooter. I couldn't recite the plots to any FPS at this point. They're all pretty standard. Can anyone remember Halo's plot, other than Master Chief is on a Halo and shoots a bunch of aliens and eventually blows up the Halo? It looks to me that Destiny's plot is pretty on point with Halo's. It seems really re-playable too. That might be the most important aspect to a game for me. The plot could be the video game equivalent of "Citizen Kane" but it won't matter if I don't want to fully invest my time to play it. In the end, this is just my opinion. I think Destiny is really fun and worth the investment in time and money. Expand

A 0 is a game thats broken and will not play a 5 is a game in the middle of the ground. Now that said lets give this gem a real review. Destiny is a Shooter first and foremost that has some light rpg leveling to it. The gunplay is as tight as anything on the market, then guns have a nice feel to them ans aiming is spot on. The servers which you are tied to are more stable then any launch game Ive seen to date. The worlds are detailed and draw you in the rain in the jungles of venus drip on your screen making you feel like your their. Enemies who once you barely survived soon run in fear as you come back leveled up. The guns have all your bases covered, sniper, assault, hand guns, rocket launchers, shotguns and a few extras for fun. As good as the gunplay is the real treat here is using the light of the traveler to destory your foes. This is were the rpg elements come into play and have a somewhat mass effect feel to them which is great imo, using you massive powers to wipe out waves of enemies is a thrill like no other game can offer. The multiplayer which is built in at the core is top notch you may find yourself at the edge of defeat when someone else will come along in the nick of time, the singleplayer elements are also top notch. The story is great and has that Halo, Stars Wars, Mass effect feel to it. The strike team missions are among the best co-op out there and should not be missed killing massive enemies with a squad is the best part of this game. PvP is there in all its glory it has vehicles, powers, and a few new twist and a great feel to the progression of it and great rewards. There really is not enough great things to say about this game it is the best shooter on the market the blend of singleplayer, multiplayer, and MMO forms a hybrid that is hard to put down. If your a fan of Sci-Fi this is a must have, if your a fan of great shooters this is a must have, if your a fan of building a character into the savior of the World this is a must have. Or if you just love great games and shooting people in the face with a rocket launcher this is a must have. This game lives up to all its hype and so much more do yourself a favor and go to the store and live you Destiny I for one will see you there. Expand

This game by yourself is not going to be nearly as fun compared to when you are doing anything with your friends or even random online players. The game has small flaws, mostly PvP balance and lack of end game content. Not to an extreme (End Game wise) but there could be more to offer post 20 like Sparrow races, gambling, etc. I mostly would just like to see side activities as the 2 just listed to do with friends that isn't combat scenario's. Mini games, parkour challenges, really anything. Just something more to the game other than Raids, PoE, Strikes and PvP.

I really do give this game a 10. Why? Not because it's perfect but this game has turned into one of the best Co-Op experiences I have ever had in the past several years. Probably the best since the 1st Borderlands. I have put so much time and had so much fun with my friends that I can't not give it a 10. The game itself may not be perfect but all the wonderful experiences I have had is rare with games now a days. No other game this year has made me and my friends do nothing but enjoy our time. Wether it was the first VoG run, bouncing the ball at the Tower or just being idiots in general. I have had an amazing time.

I simply love the game because it has been a super fun experience, with loads of hours and craziness. Many challenging moments, many epic PvP kills and tons of those "moments" you won't forget. That is what to me, defines an MMO. Something unforgettable with friends and random people online that turn into an awesome night of gaming.

I still play today and probably will for a long time. Thanks for reading.

    Cheers!

The gameplay itself is fantastic, the controls are very smooth and fluid which makes for fun general gameplay. The PvP and Strike missions at level 20 really help to spice the game up, especially if you're playing with friends, it gives a challenge aspect and I do mean CHALLENGE. The game just needs more content (which is coming up in the near future DLC) and it'll be golden.

Destiny is its own unique game and I enjoy every bit of it. I REALLY like how they did the endgame piece that there is another stat on armor, called Light, that is what brings you past lvl 20. So it means that if you are with all lvl 22 players then you have around the same level of equipment. This makes endgame strikes(dungeons) and raids a lot easier to play, as you can clearly see that a lvl 20 player doesn't have good enough gear for a lvl 24 or 26 strike.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First of all let me start of by saying there are a few things you need to know to get the full enjoyment from Destiny. First, the game is pretty boring and difficult if you try to play solo. It becomes infinitely better when joined by 1 or 2 friends. Second, you should adjust the sensitivity for aiming because for some reason the starting is just 3. Now that that is out of the way let me just say Destiny is amazing fun. The strikes are super intense even with 3 people. The strike on the moon with the giant chained up Ogre is madness. I can't even imagine what will be in the raid. I haven't had one connection error since the midnight launch which is amazing for the launch of an always online game. Destiny feels like the key elements of an FPS and an MMO gently resting shoulder to shoulder, instead of being fused together in a truly creative way. It plays and looks great, and offers many, many hours of entertainment to anyone okay with repeating the same tasks, but it isn’t exactly the game-changing science fiction epic we felt it was aspiring to.
