The game isn't often the problem. Destiny is a huge pile of trash but other people are hell. If its not PVP sweats its raid groups. The 4/10 isn't for destiny its for the human race.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Multiple reviews I read here are very crazy mixed/negative reviews. About the game, I loved playing the game. I hated the unbalanced PvP but I do not think any supers or gears should be removed. I hated the feeling I got while thinking someone else said the supers and some gears should be removed. I disagree with what many people say about this but I am just not going to type more words about their thoughts about the game and the features of the game. Too bad the Destiny 2 PvP is very unbalanced. I feel like everything else or almost everything else about the game is very good. The activities are repetitive but very fun. I started playing Destiny about five years ago and I still love playing the game. Expand

Some of the worst design decisions in history, mainly the one where you can't even choose if you want to play a strike mission from the start, the game just slaps you into an existing game without anything you can do about it except quit and try again, and again, and again, even if it is the first time you play that mission so you miss all of the mission and the story, it can literary kick you into the game just as it ends. It is probably the most stupid thing I have ever seen in a game.

Did I mention the game is forced online? If your connection goes down even if playing solo the game stops. The developers did not even care to keep the site up where you gather your lore so that part of the game is broken just so you know.

    Also, microtransactions and loot boxes.

Bungie came back in full force with a game that was fun, easily addicting, and so great for all the years they put into making it. It played so much like Halo, yet was so unique at the same time you could lose yourself for hours doing either the campaign, raids, or PVP and it was always fun no matter what.

After several hours of grinding, I was slightly disappointed with what the game had offered. The game is not necessarily bad, but one that presents glaring flaws that took away from my overall enjoyment. Destiny is a good game, but it is nothing compared to the breathtaking adventure that was Halo. Firstly, the story quickly becomes underwhelming after its seemingly promising concept and premise, missions feels highly repetitive to the point where it becomes a bore, and content wise the game doesn't offer much for you to have the full experience (unless you want to pay extra for the DLC expansions). On a positive note though, the graphics and soundtrack are superb, gameplay mechanics work very well for a first-person shooter, and the landscapes and scenery are downright gorgeous. Unfortunately, you'll soon find out that the world is a facade, as it soon feels lifeless and mundane. In conclusion, Destiny is a good title that you are likely to enjoy if you wish to experience it, but don't expect to be blown away the same way you were with the Halo franchise. Expand

And apparently it’s the expansions because it’s not here in the base game...
And with activision shutting down multiplayer modes for those expansions the month this review comes out I’m not going to even bother them...
So while I’m sure Destiny is now this great experience with all its ad ons...
I’m going to just talk about the base game which is a repetitive and boring joke…
Destiny is a competitive and cooperative online only first person shooter where you play as 1 of 3 classes and create your own character
As an aggressive player I played as a titan..
There are 2 bases in this game that you turn in your quest progress 2, get new missions, fork out your real life cash for any weapons that are worth anything from loot boxes and get back to the grind of being a guardian…
    This game is co op...
But through my entire 9 hour journey in story mode I only had team mates in one mission…
The story mode is practically dead…
So you’re going to have to grind through this excuse of a story mode yourself…
Worse is that all 9 hours take place on the same 4 maps…
the missions just take your deeper into these maps each time..
There are some loot boxes here that are like playing a game of where waldo to find them...
so I just stuck to getting my loot from missions and enemy drops…
Leveling up in this game gives you upgrades for your grenades and suit
though the game doesn’t seem to balance in terms of xp if you are playing alone so late game missions are extremely frustrating..
I was playing through the final story mission at only level 14 because of how slow the game was handing levels out because it assumes I’m going to grind through boring story missions over and over or that I’m playing with other people…
I felt like I had to keep playing in these annoying no respawn zones over and over that would reset every time I died…
But these missions are all the same thing of bring up your ghost, go to a point on the map and shoot all of the stuff until there’s no more stuff to shoot rinse and repeat..
There is a competitive team based mode of 6vs6 like call of duty which is the best part of Destiny as a base game...
Here level advantages are taken away, but you’ll level up way faster than the story mode, you’ll get loot drops, and you’ll have way more fun doing it…
IF you were thinking about giving destiny a try before destiny 2 comes out there’s absolutely no reason to
there’s nothing here worth your time
    Give Destiny
    a 6/10

The graphics are also amazing, even on your not-great last gen consoles. The world is very interesting and sucks you in. There are a lot more things Destiny does wrong though. First off, the mission areas and objectives are repetitive as hell, and Its hard to feel excited when you're going back to the exact same area for another boring objective. Another thing that Destiny does wrong is that the story is vague and underwhelming, the bosses are bullet sponges. Yet another thing that really ruins Destiny is the RNG loot system. So pretty much, in a Strike or Raid, all of the good loot is not given out according to skill, but according to a random number generator. That severely damages your experience with Destiny. The PvP is fun, but only because it's the same as Halo's multiplayer. And saying: "there will be DLC to explain the story" is absolutely no excuse to shove an underwhelming and uninteresting story in our faces. Only buy Destiny If you are a hardcore Halo or Bungie fan, and even then, you can just get the Halo MCC, or wait for Halo 5 to come out. Expand

    Cons:
-Very short and poor written story (even worst considering it was made by bungie)
-Repitive mission structure- Go to point A, scan this, defend point, point B and repeat with the occasional boss
    - Loot system is poorly done, as you can get rare or even common weapons after decrypting an epic or even a legendary
    - Reused and recycled enemies that look the same
    - Reused and recycled gun designs (apart from the exotics but poor you if you try to go for those)
    - Grinding for days
    - Bosses are usually just bullet sponges that can take heaps of damage. Also if you die, the boss gets all it's health back while all the ammo you used (that includes heavy and special ammo) isn't refunded back to you.
    - 'Expansion' packs galore, adding in what should have been in destiny at release. But what would you expect from activision?
    - Hardly anyone playing multiplayer. I spent like 45 minutes trying to find a match and didn't find one. So multiplayer is dead, at least in the Xbox one.

I don't hate this game. It has its fun moments, and it is fun teaming up with other players in missions. It just isn't what it could've been, which is a shame.

It's really sad, because this game had and has so much potential... Graphics are cool imho, Fights are nice (AI is stupid, but that's nothing uncommon in FPS...)and the artwork and design of the world is sweet.
But then there are some design decisions, that no sane person could seriously make.
For example, the PvP mode is just bad. There are literally thousands of fps out now with better PvP than this. It just feels random and unbalanced, like something an Indie dev team would make in like 4 weeks...
Those stupid raids, where you need 5 other mouthbreathers to _just_start_ this thing. And pray to god nobody drops out or that anyone is in the mood to tell you noob how this works (why haven't you read the guid?!)...
I mean seriously... I've played more complex things with only chat communication and random players. But Bungie (or whoever is in charge) tells me "you need to meet those people in some lobby or via facebook, collect some malware on the way and don't make any friends, because our community is only consisting of terrible people"

But the real reason for giving this game 0/10: it is a big sham!

There is a ton of dlc, but no really addition of gameplay... They just drop in a few new items and make your precious old gear useless (really useless, just throw it away... seriously!) They promised a story, that never came. I don't know what the **** is going on in this game. Why are we fighting? Who is the enemy? Why are there different fractions?

I could go on like this for a while, but I already wasted hundreds of hours on this game and I have to live on now... you should also do that!

I bought the "Destiny: Digital Guardian Edition" (which was around $80 or $90 back then) thinking that Bungie (the creators of Halo) could not mess this up, but they did.

So, I hopped on Destiny to play the campaign on day one, since my friends didn't invite me the first time of go, I went on the Destiny subreddit and found a cool/chill guy to beat the campaign. We played about 3 - 4 hours a day for 3 or 4 days maybe 5 (I don't know) straight, just the two of us. Once we completed the campaign we said, "WTF, thats it?," "All we got was a GUN?!?." All to be told, you get a gun that becomes useless when you level up in the future. The only great thing about the campaign was Peter Dinklage, but then he was replaced by Nolan North.

Let's face it, a company that's known for having great music, great online experience and a great storyline. How could they mess up the game?Overall, the storyline sucked (I mean it really sucked, they didn't explain nothing), missions are highly repetitive, online pvp is not balanced, people only use overpowered weapons in online and it just didn't feel good to play.

For most, those types of people have played/put 100+ hours into Destiny and they love the game. They love the reward system, they love the gear grind and they love farming. But I couldn't bare with it anymore, it felt boring and I felt like most of the problem was Activision controlling Bungie to release this game with less content so they can turn it into DLC. It could have been a great game but the game wasn't there for me at all. It failed the game industry.

In the end, Destiny is a horrible highly repetitive non-open world console mmo and I will not be buying Destiny 2 when it comes out.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Bungie were adamant from the beginning that this game was not like an mmorpg and they were right. Bungie has a randomised loot system and no way to grind or farm for better gear instead you get to spend hundreds of hours replaying the same mind numbing strikes over and over hoping that you get a new weapon with the perks you want but that never really happens. Bungie to their credit have fixed some of the major flaws within the game despite taking over a year to actually address some issues present since launch. They were relatively quick to fix legendary engrams giving players materials or rares of course this is relative to the time it took them to fix shotguns in the multiplayer. Bungie keep claiming that they're releasing new content when really its the same strike just on a different section of a map or going the opposite way from another strike. The taken were the only really new enemies that were not just a reskin as they do have their own unique abilities no matter how spammable and annoying they are. The loot system in destiny is its major problem and has been since launch. Bungie have nerfed or removed every location where people could grind for engrams to try and force people to play the game fully unfortunately playing the game fully is no less tedious than sitting in front of the loot cave and holding down the trigger for hours. The strikes feel bland and unexciting by the second play through the only bearable strikes are ones where the boss isn't a massive bullet sponge who can just take sniper shot after sniper shot from your full fire team and that can be done fairly quickly. Unfortunately these strikes are few and far between and all have been left behind with the release of the taken king. Bungie have claimed to have a system in place that the game is less likely to give you an exotic you already have from an engram when you decrypt it but when you've gotten the same exotic 3/4 times you really begin to doubt that this is the case. The "story" of destiny I've always felt was extremely poor from the voice acting being beyond terrible to the mindless killing of enemies for no real reason. The year one version of the game with no DLC has possibly the worst story of any AAA title ever to be released, even calling it a story is a stretch. The reason for killing everything that moves in the game is to stop the darkness but the darkness is never explained. At the end of the game you have an extremely underwhelming fight against a giant floating black "heart" where all you do is kill the statues it brought to life and this somehow kills it? The taken king does a better job of actually forming some coherent story that is actually a story rather than your murderous adventure across the solar system where you watch your white orb shoot lasers at electronics until you kill the correct amount of enemies for the game to proceed. The game always tells you to protect the ghost but all the enemies completely ignore it and charge you until you've killed a sufficient amount, whether it takes you 2 minutes to kill the enemies or 20 the game wont progress because somehow the hacking speed of the ghost is directly related to how swiftly you can murder aliens. I would like to see a timer rather than just having to kill a certain amount of enemies or at the very least for the ghost to say "I'm in you just need to clear the area and we can proceed". I can appreciate them not having the ghost be the target while it hacks as this could make some nightfall strikes unnecessarily difficult to do solo but the ghost could say something to the effect of protect yourself while I hack instead of cover me.

The multiplayer has always been a part of destiny I never really enjoyed at first I thought it was okay but then as people got to higher levels and got better drops the shotguns with absurdly long ranges began to appear and ran rampant through the multiplayer for over a year. I personally don't like the use of the supers in multiplayer as it feels too easy for some one to come around a corner and panic super but considering everyone has access to the supers I'm not too bothered by them. I feel as though destiny would benefit from some form of skill based searching as there are far too many games where you either completely destroy the other team or you get destroyed and neither instance is fun.

It`s not that Destiny is a bad game but it`s very minimal story, repetitive mission design, and very unbalanced PvP is what is keeping Destiny down and giving it a bad reputation. I will admit that the raids and strikes are fun when playing with friends but that is it really. My main con with this game is the story. Missions are repetitive as it just scanning objects whilst killing enemies and the planets that you visit just feel empty and lifeless. One last thing, the fact that they cut out most of the game for DLC is absolutely ridiculous and the fact that you need DLC to progress with the game is just pathetic.
To sum it up, Destiny is a very average game that is occasionally fun but it is not enough to bring me back for a sequel.

The character customization is disappointing with very few options, as well as character development. However like I said, I cant stop playing this game. The game offers hard bosses that are very hard to beat alone. The game allows your character to dance, wave, and point at other players. Speaking of which, in this game you have to have a internet connection. The acting in the story very bad. It feels like a robot is directing the game or something. Destiny is a game that pulls me in opposite directions. On one hand, it tries to be like too many games at once. On the other hand, it does such a good job at that. Certain times, I would love it, and hate it other times. The story is a huge letdown, but the gameplay is solid.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game has incredibly been one of my favorite games. It is nice how it is based on different planets. The game is good for ages 11-15 (Recommended). What is great about this game is that it has a story mode that can be played with six people online. It takes 50 minutes to do one raid but it's worth it. What is kind of sad is that Xbox Live must be bought to enjoy multiplayer missions. Once you are done with all levels, it is very boring and some people may not have the dark below, the taken king, or the house of wolves so you just do levels again. The people without Xbox Live look at the levels and feel very jealous that everyone else has it and they don't. On level 34, I did patrols and I couldn't gain any experience, something was wrong. One suggestion is to make expansion levels unlocked so it doesn't get so boring. Xbox is ridiculously stupid for having to pay online. Expand

If you haven't realized by now, THE WHOLE GAME IS A FINANCIAL SCAM. As this review was published, Xbox Live is offering a deal of $59.99 with the game and all the Expansions available, but a game get's the full judgment during launch, and with this game during launch you would have to pay over $100 to get the full experience. Enough said about the financial scam, let's talk about the game it'self. The game starts when your character gets revived after maybe a few hundred years ( they never explain ) you get revived by your new companion, a small robot that calls himself a ghost who will maybe give you a little help, and also someone who will get you killed almost every time. The game takes place during the aftermath of a war against aliens, you become a guardian and your objective is to save the remaining people from the aliens, along with all the other players who purchased the game. I apologize if I'm wrong is just that the game doesn't explain the story well. After a 4 hour adventure trying to find "The Black Garden" you finally start your adventure, only if you have the season pass. And if you do, get ready for an endless grinding adventure. You'll be better off with another shooter game. Expand

On one hand, you've got interesting open worlds where you can bump into other players here and there and tackle meaningful content with small 3-player groups. The missions and boss fights are highly replayable and customizing your character to a certain play style is outstanding within the FPS genre. On the other hand, Destiny isn't built well enough to weather the gaming world. It is a flash of excitement, praise and continued consumption one moment, an abandoned war fortress the next. The worlds of Destiny are limited in their scope and the content barely exceeds skin depth. You cannot throw yourself into this game and feel both challenged and interested a month or two later, because once you've reached a level cap and played a handful of "strikes" and done your "raid", it all quickly comes to a halt. Like World of Warcraft, the game is meant to be repetitive, but what sets most MMORPGs above the cut is how meaningful the game is once you get to where you're ultimately going. The challenge to take on the game's most difficult moments and come out victorious with your friends, the champions of PvP (competitive multiplayer) showing their skills and being rewarded for it. It's these things that hurt Destiny in the long run. I absolutely love this game for its butter-smooth gunplay and feel. Nothing feels wasted or worthless (even if I don't prefer fusion rifles, they serve a purpose and have their strong-suits). Bungie is perhaps king of balance, and their creative sparks show up in spots, but you cannot deny that this is very much a Halo 2.0, or what Halo could be like if you opened up the sandbox and went to town. That would be fine if the story wasn't so muddied and incoherent most of the time. This is the first year of Destiny and, despite all of its shortcomings, is still worth the price of entry. That's the true incredible feat here, but if you're jumping in to the game late, be prepared to miss out on the end game content that was worth playing in the first year, because after two short DLC packs, year 2 is upon us with a grander Taken King expansion that is taking this game in the direction it should have always been going. What shooter fan wouldn’t want a Halo meets Borderlands game? The music and level scripting from Halo and the shooting and looting of Borderlands, 2 great tastes that taste great together. Perfect! Since then the game has launched and the reaction, both personally and professionally, is lukewarm. The reviews have been less than expected from what Bungie’s pedigree would have predicted and the internet has been ablaze with hilarious Twitter parody accounts. But I digress. Despite the lack of story and the busted loot system, I have been enjoying my jaunt around the universe. Maybe a little too much…
I am a recovering WoW addict, always will be. Farming, raiding, grinding, you name it, I did it. So going on to my second full year of being Blizzard free has been a learning experience. Needless to say, I can spot a MMO when I see it. I really don’t care how Bungie tries to spin it, Destiny is a MMO.
If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck, it’s not a raccoon. We have the easy comparisons. Raids, colored items and weapons, rep farming for rewards, collectable mounts. All real easy to spot as a MMO trope and Bungie can’t deny it. But what is harder to spot and not as easy to identify as a characteristic of an MMO are the social features and implications.
Arguably the best thing to come from Destiny is the loot cave. An endless spawning black hole of green, blue and purple shinnies that have players huddled around a dirt mound shooting in a straight line. It was a fruitful process and netted me many new items and materials. And now it’s gone, hot fixed in a Thursday morning patch. But the social experience continues. Years down the road we can say “remember the loot cave?” While it does live on in a web based game, those that missed out will never know what it’s like to mindlessly shoot into a hole. Well, at least the way we did. A similar comparison is the war effort in WoW. Do you remember where you were when the Gates of Ahn’Qiraj were opened on your server? I don’t, because I wasn’t playing when that happened. That killed me as a WoW player, and continues to kill me as a Destiny player. I don’t want to miss out.
These kind of social experiences and events are what keep me going back to Destiny. I don’t want to miss anything that the world will be talking about tomorrow. So much so that I used the Destiny LFG to join a raid group full of people I don’t know. I was in the Vault of Glass, shouting out terms like “burn the adds” and “I can rez in 5”, all for what? To say I completed raid content when it was relevant? We all know it’s not for the gear that drops, or lack thereof.
Social gaming is a powerful tool. It keeps players interest and motivated, a blessing and a curse. But for me, it triggers too many old feelings of having to log just so that I don’t miss out on that all important pair of pants or new accessory for my digital doll.

Destiny had so much potential. The concept for Destiny was great, actually (only if one liked the grind). But Bungie decided to release an unfinished game and mark it at full price. Not to mention vanilla Destiny was a year long beta.

Lets do some math real quick:

Assuming the player bought the expansion pass**

    Destiny: $60
Expansion pass(included Dark Below and House of Wolves): $30 (save $10)
    Taken King: $40

So to actually have full access to Destiny, someone had to spend $130 or $140 if one didn't buy the expansion pass. That makes no sense. $130 could have bought two full priced games. It seems that Bungie is only worried about money.

Other than Destiny being a very expensive game- the story or campaign doesn't exist. It's literally the same mission with slightly different environments. The character waits for the Ghost to open a door that just happens to take three(3)*waves of enemies to open. The raids are kind of what saves the game. Just for the fun factor though.

So basically, Destiny is an expensive unfinished game that requires the user to buy the DLCs to play the game properly.

    Breakdown:

Story/Campaign: +0/2 (Story is extremely unclear)
Graphics: +2/2 (Very futuristic and crisp)
Mechanics: +2/2 (Every mechanic works great. Rare frame rate drops. Little to no lag most of the time)
DLC: +0/2 (only because the DLC is basically required)
Matchmaking: +0/2 (Some weapons are incredibly overpowered than others- like shotguns)

    Total: +4/10

Bungie and Activision have somehow tricked players into paying a lot of money for not a lot of content and being absolutely disregarded by their developer.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. When I first played the Destiny beta, I had high hopes for this game. It looked great, and the area that was available on earth was spread out into large open areas, while also having some close quarters areas.

That led me to decide to buy it soon after launch. What I found out after putting some time into the game was that I might have been better off giving Shrek a spare key to my home. While the earth area seemed cool in the beta, It turned out that Bungie had taken the earth map, and colored it different colors to make the other worlds, then took a hyateus to spend some time jerking off to cortana pictures in a claw foot bathtub filled with money from the Halo series.

I could go on for paragraphs about destiny, but ill sum it up in a list of "The Top 10 Things You Should Know About Destiny Before You Buy" (Yeah, yeah, I know, we have all seen too many top ten lists on the internet already, but i promise this one wont be filled with adds for Buzzfeed)

!. As I said earlier, the maps are basically re-skinned versions of each other. Here are some examples:
EARTH: Mainly open tundra with some easy enemies and airplane/ship parts scattered around.
MARS: Red version of earth. Also has morbidly obese enemies and wrecked buildings.
VENUS: Earth that let its pubes grow to long. Jungle-ish area that looks like it just held a convention for people who like Battlestar Galactica, and everyone dressed up as cylons.

    2. It takes way too much grinding to level up.
The way you level up is by obtaining some 420Swag armor that gives you the points needed to level up when wearing it. The problem is that the equipment you get is in no way related to how well you do in missions. For example, you could be doing a raid with friends and be racking up clips for your N0Scop3 montage and have a 9000/1 KD ratio. But when the prizes are handed out at the end of the mission, your buddy who sniffed a little too much glue in middle school get the game's equivalent to the Nobel peace prize, while you are stuck with a dead raccoon tainted with chlamydia ..

    3. Online PvP Multiplayer (the crucible) kinda sucks
To give credit where credit is due, bungie knows how to do multiplayer. The success of Halo in both public and competitive settings is a testiment to that. Thats why I was confused with bungie's deciision to appoint Hellen Keller as the new head of the multiplayer devision of destiny. The end product of that poor decision is a multiplayer mode that feels like a bad knockoff of the halo style of multiplayer. It looks pretty from a far, but it is definitely far from pretty. The whole experience of getting online to pwn some scrubs seems totally lack luster and devoid of any true soul or passion. It doesn't commit any cardinal sins of gaming but it also doesn't have anything to call it's own. If you want to play some quick andeasy multiplayer, pick up call of duty. It you want fast paced competative action, play CSGO. And If you want larger maps and some vehicles, play Battlefield.

    4. In the fine print it says you will get robbed of all your money.
When the game released, you could buy the "Expansion Pass" for $35 which includes expansion #I: The Dark Below, and #II: The House of Wolves. Each expansion sells for $20 seperately. By now we are all used to the DLC buisnes strategy. It involves releasing paid content that is supposed to further the experience over time. Most companies also release a season pass or expansion pass which will entitle to all of the upcoming dlc for the game at a slightly discounted price than buying each one seperately. There are two major issues with how destiny does dlc. The first is that it was found out that some of the content in the expansions was originally to be included in the game but was cut out in favor of charging more. The second thing is that the people who shelled out to get the game and the expansion pass are getting reamed a new one my bungie. Bungie anounced a while ago that they are adding another dlc which wont be included in the supposedly all inclusive expansion pass. This means that those who bought the pass at launch expecting to be set on dlc content for the rest of the game's life cycle also have to shell out an aditional 40 doll hairs if they want to get the "full destiny experience" (Dont worry, this will be the last hidden and over priced. DLC...... hopefully). Oh, and all the DLC;s in the past have added were a couple missions and a small hand full of top tier guns and armor which you are never going to have enough luck to recieve in the game anyways.

Now, despite all the stuff ive been saying about destiny, it is nowhere near the worst game I have played. It manages to retain some redeeming qualities through it's well done mechanics and great CoOp aspects. I found that I had the most fun celebrating the defeat of a difficult boss with friends

...which Immediately turned into cursing when we find out that we got jack **** for loot.

However after a long time of playing it, it does get a little repetitive, especially the story mode. Once you have completed the story it gets a lot better, when you reach level 16 you can play Strikes with people online, for example with friends or randoms.

If you buy the DLC you can get loads of brilliant, good looking armour and weapons. Making your guardian your own is one of the best things, you can make them whatever colour you want by getting different shaders etc.

Overall I think it is definitely worth buying, especially if you're into First Person Shooters and that kind of thing.

This game by yourself is not going to be nearly as fun compared to when you are doing anything with your friends or even random online players. The game has small flaws, mostly PvP balance and lack of end game content. Not to an extreme (End Game wise) but there could be more to offer post 20 like Sparrow races, gambling, etc. I mostly would just like to see side activities as the 2 just listed to do with friends that isn't combat scenario's. Mini games, parkour challenges, really anything. Just something more to the game other than Raids, PoE, Strikes and PvP.

I really do give this game a 10. Why? Not because it's perfect but this game has turned into one of the best Co-Op experiences I have ever had in the past several years. Probably the best since the 1st Borderlands. I have put so much time and had so much fun with my friends that I can't not give it a 10. The game itself may not be perfect but all the wonderful experiences I have had is rare with games now a days. No other game this year has made me and my friends do nothing but enjoy our time. Wether it was the first VoG run, bouncing the ball at the Tower or just being idiots in general. I have had an amazing time.

I simply love the game because it has been a super fun experience, with loads of hours and craziness. Many challenging moments, many epic PvP kills and tons of those "moments" you won't forget. That is what to me, defines an MMO. Something unforgettable with friends and random people online that turn into an awesome night of gaming.

I still play today and probably will for a long time. Thanks for reading.

    Cheers!

Disaponting. The story looks as if it was written by a autistic pumpkin. lets look at one of the many plot holes. At the start when you first meet the voice of the traveller he says he could tellm you about how the darkness came and destroyed most of earth... emphisis on 'could' because he never tells you. If you have been dead for untold centuries don't you think someone might fill you in. Your 'Character' (if it can even be called that, serioulsy you have like 9 lines.) is supposed to be a protector of earth or a 'Guardian' (definately nothing like a Spartan totally not ripping of their own game (BTW halo was a rip off of a book called ring world)). How about we talk about the story missions now. Here is a diagram I have made:

go here ----> Look for this ----->ghost looks at something----> fight waves of terrible AI----->AGAIN AGAIN!

seriously destiny is such a asinine game. I felt like bungie lured me in with Halo then slipped a roofie in my drink then raped me with this hunk of **** I hope someone from bungie is reading this. if you are just scrap Destiny 2: Electric boogaloo. Destiny is already repetitive enough we don't need a second one. plus I find it funny that Bungie has the audacity to make you pay the high prices for the ****ty DLCs they're making. if my mathematics are correct if you buy all the DLCs you're paying more than the game origianally cost. Bungie you are just sellouts you have gotten rid of halo, the only game that could ever redeem you from this mess. But then again you probably don't care you're probably there, pockets full of cash smoking a cigar, with big grins on your faces because you know there are morons who are going to buy the DLC. I hope your company goes under you lie spewing, money grubbing bastards. I hope other companies don't **** up like you have. I don't know what i'd do if Todd Howard ****ed up fallout 4 like you ****ed up destiny.

Everything looked great...everything felt great. And then I ran into the dome, the wall that surrounded the deceptive existence of the game. Re-playability became monotonous. Character uniqueness was all but vacant as I developed. Everything was wake up, go to work, go home.

The whole time I did this process, Activision was laughing in their sky office as they let me pretend I was playing a long-term title. The only thing that is long-term in Destiny are the same models and areas used for just about everything. The end game is horrible..even as they add raids and missions. DLC is another term for "same old crap" in Destiny.

The gunplay is well done, but brings nothing new to the table and feels like a large step backwards compared to other current titles.

The MMO aspects are very poorly implemented - each class plays identically save one or two tricks (which make PvP a disaster). Gaining new gear does not change your character in any meaningful way other than a flat % damage increase. Interactions between players in PvE is all but non-existent; the only meaningful action between players is reviving one another after death.

There are truly only 9 weapons in the game, but their stats are randomized so that only a few are worth using. Jetpacks are incredibly clunky, vehicles are not fun to use or fun to play against.

Destiny's PvP is one of the worst experiences of any shooter in the past 5-10 years. If Halo and Call of Duty were combined, and all of the good parts taken away, the result would look just like Destiny. Yet PvP is essentially required to obtain the best gear because of the broken loot system.

Leveling up past 20 is only done by obtaining gear, which is either totally random or a 30+ hour grind to obtain reputation.

In summation, Bungie took all of the negative feedback that was given for Halo: Reach, and shoved it right down the players' asses, making a game that the majority of players will not enjoy.

This game is not what was promised or hyped. The PVP is especially awful. Unbalanced maps combine with terrible lag issues, easily exploited game mechanics (lag locking the other team) and "i win button" super powers. The fact that we're forced to play PVP to earn certain guns only angers the players more. This company doubles down on bad decisions and just keeps making beginner mistakes.

    - You just want to see what the fuss is all about. You can literally finish all non-dlc contents within 6 hours or less of gameplay. Perhaps the raid is all you're missing, but I'm not sure if its worth spending 50 hours grinding to level 31 just to play a 2 hours raid, which people just rush rough anyways.

Destiny is an artistically beautiful game that falls very short. The most disappointing thing about this game is the lack of story line. Repetitiveness, for a game that claims not be an MMO and the lack of the content does not help. Greetings fellow Guardians!! What are all of you thinking when playing destiny??? Bungie claims to have worked 5-6 years on this game. A game that is suppose to be an mmorpg. Now let's take a look at what those 5-6 years have brought us. When you venture into the realm that destiny Has to offer; Your immediately captivated by the marvelous display of the landscape and even more so as youGreetings fellow Guardians!! What are all of you thinking when playing destiny??? Bungie claims to have worked 5-6 years on this game. A game that is suppose to be an mmorpg. Now let's take a look at what those 5-6 years have brought us. When you venture into the realm that destiny Has to offer; Your immediately captivated by the marvelous display of the landscape and even more so as you gain progress in story. One Main issue dawns upon the players when they realize there's no chat box to commuicate. The only way to socialize it to add gaurdians to your fireteam(1-6 players at a time). You can see why this Is an issue since the main component in all mmorpgs is the ability to socialize with other players.

Furthermore, there is an extreme lack of story. All role playing games come with a major focus on Lore. Remember when you were young and all you lived to play for were those cutscenes? All you get from destinys story is a few cutscenes with still a major lack of story depth. Bungies response is....oh wait there is none. Bungie continues with the "expansion pack" called Dark Below. Witch does nothing to help the Storyline of this supposedly "Epic" game. Don't get me wrong the game is fun but it comes to end all to quick. You can only do the four same strikes a few times before it just seems repetitive. The loot system is another let down. Its all random based witch evidently makes destiny just more grinding based to get the best Weapons and armor. Bungie is obviously holding back to profit from destiny in the long term.

In Addition, where are all the planets and Galaxy's were going to be traveling to? Destiny as is does not allow us even to explore our suns entire solar system.less when it comes to the planets. We only get access to Earth, the moon, Venus, and Mars. With one medium sized area for each planet. this game has been more of a let down above all. Don't get me started on the tower..not having raid matchmaking is mind boggling. There's no excuse. Yeah its "hard and needs strategy". Thats why a guardian soloed crotas end raid with no guns. Players can manage with a team of strangers. Time has proven so. How did Bungie go from Halos Magnificent story to Destinys major lack of one? There's hardly anything to do beside grinding. Why not add a Sparrow Race Playlist? And a Ship Race Playlist? Why not add to the story to create more things to do in destiny like side quests in addition to the bounties all ready available.

where's the Character Build Up? Every class is practically the same with minor tweaks. levels don't seem to hav much of a purpose besides being able to equip better armor; however, theres hardly anything about the armor that makes your character unique. Take final fantasy for example the range of weapons and armor are so vast no one character looks the same. When you actually play Destiny you keep thinking its going to get better but eventually you find out it never does. You reach level twenty without even knowing who the travelers are or what it is we are fighting against besides there name. even more so when the story mode is completed. This game needs to take tips from fallout and mass effect. Now Bungie is talking about the next "Expansion pack" House Of Wolves. Seriously?? Expansion pack? Compare them to Final Fantasy Expansion packs and they don't even come close. Bungie needs to rename these expansion picks "Add-ons". Bungie releasing the game in portions through DLC is not going to make this game last as long as halo.

It's a slick, mechanically sound, and lavishly produced shooter that uses beauty to try and mask the potentially great but uninspired gameplay inside. [Issue#117, p.62]

Destiny feels like the key elements of an FPS and an MMO gently resting shoulder to shoulder, instead of being fused together in a truly creative way. It plays and looks great, and offers many, many hours of entertainment to anyone okay with repeating the same tasks, but it isn’t exactly the game-changing science fiction epic we felt it was aspiring to.

An ambitious if repetitive combination of shooter and loot based ARPG. A boost in loot drop frequency could definitely boost the fun/score. [Issue#254, p.47]
