5 for only 5 missions...and the $20 I had to pay for those 5 missions (one being a lost sector) to be fair it’s way better than the first DLC

More of the same. Reskinned gear, enemies and story. Still focusing on shady and predatory loot boxes instead of gameplay. The story is maybe an hour and a half and almost exactly the same plot as CoO and RoI. This company continues to do as little as possible but still wants you to pay for it. Do not buy.

For a small DLC this one brought a lot of great thing into Destiny 2. While the story line was short (only 4 missions) and somewhat disjointed the addition of a new world and areas are great.

Overall definitely improvements to the game worth the $20 cost.

The people complaining about this game are the same people playing FTP Fortnite and base all of their hobbies on what's the most popular. I base mine off gameplay and off of good mechanics, graphics and sound. Destiny 2 is a well-rounded and underappreciated package, and this DLC is a great extension to the people that stuck with it like me.

Too little too late seems to be the theme here with Bungie. I shouldn't have to wait till the fabled september update that's supposed to fix the whole game and make it as great as Destiny 1 was while also dropping prob another 40 bucks on that upcoming DLC. If this had been the first expansion for the game instead of the Osiris one, I prob would have continued playing. As it stands though Bungie has burned through the last of its good will for me. I'd almost prefer for them to just go straight to Destiny 3 at this point and start from scratch and actually use the lessons learned from the previous 2 games to make it a masterpiece. Then I might consider playing one of their games again. Expand

The main complaint people have with this expansion is the story. Although I'd say the first half is good, it completely falls apart on the 4th mission. However though, this is just one aspect of the DLC. I am not giving it a pass, but I feel it is disingenuous to judge it on the story alone. People loved Year 1 after all & we know how great the story for that is.

It feels great to actually work for your light level again & have to complete endgame content to progress. There are also plenty of quests & gear for you to work on, such as new exotics & exotic masterworks.

The new patrol space is a little smaller than Io, but is full of collectibles, secrets & activities to engage in, such as the new "escalation protocol" which is actually quite challenging (although i am under-leveled so take what i said with a grain of salt).

So despite the admittedly botched campaign, i'd say this expansion has done a lot for the game. As of this review though, the raid lair is not out, so we'll see how that goes.

I still do not feel rewarded by strikes, in PvP and any other action. More weapons with the same perks and mediocre exotics. Nothing really new or shiny.

To give praise where it is due, Destiny 2 retains its elegant combat game mechanics and the DLC provides about 4 hours of story and additional content to keep players occupied for a while. Drawing the obvious analogy to a movie, it does deliver a reasonable dollar to hour of entertainment value ratio. But, there are many problems with this DLC.

As others have noted, while the patch fixes and addresses many issues, this does not really count towards the value of the DLC. To use an analogy, if I buy a D&D adventure and it contains several pages of errata for the core rules, I don't consider that an increase in the value of the adventure-addressing errors should not cost me anything.

I'm split on the new added features, like being able to dismantle items in the vault. While this is nice, they also do not seem to be a legitimate part of the value of a DLC.

As with the last expansion, there is massive recycling. This does not feel like maintaining consistency and the core world, but pure laziness and cost cutting. For example, while the Hive have been given icy skins and Mars now features icicles, it is simply fighting the same old foes in the same old places (Mars was in Destiny 1). I'll also confess to still being annoyed that Bungie has never made the planets/moons significantly different-there is, for example, no difference between earth gravity and lunar gravity in the game, Other games have done this, so it is obviously doable.

If you enjoy the core game mechanics of Destiny and want some minor variations on the past content (shooting icy Hive in some slightly different Mars settings and doing something slightly different in Destiny 2 locations), then you should get this DLC. Actually, you probably already have it.

If you want truly new content with interesting story advancement, then you should spend your money on some other game.

Here me out, this expatiation has its flaws and its story could have been so much better, but it also added so much to the game. Escalation protocol, a new/old area on Mars, fun unique exotic quest and so much more. This is a step in the right direction and I hope they build off of this in the fall exception.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The campaign is too short. You do not have to buy this DLC anymore. New weapons and armor were added to this game when this DLC came out but those may be known as reskinned gear. Expand

This new expansion expands the bundle and adds new content to help extend the life of Destiny 2, but the campaign is too short and much of the content is recycled.

Destiny 2: Warmind failed to deliver a compelling campaign and rushes its storyline in less than a couple of hours. Nevertheless, it adds a cool new end-game PvE event and many quests, which were eagerly expected by fans.

Unfortunately, Warmind fails to impress. It gives players new stuff to do which is good, but the story is ridiculously short and doesn't realize its potential. This is a waste, as the expansion could have been a lot better.
