Delta Squad brings the Heroes of Full-Blast into another Top-Down Twin-Stick shooter. The idea of a genre-jumping team recurring in different situations is neat but could have been implemented far better. With no congruency to their former engagements, the Battle-Hardened Delta Squad has moved from an Alien invasion to saving the world from a maniac general creating hordes of zombies.Delta Squad brings the Heroes of Full-Blast into another Top-Down Twin-Stick shooter. The idea of a genre-jumping team recurring in different situations is neat but could have been implemented far better. With no congruency to their former engagements, the Battle-Hardened Delta Squad has moved from an Alien invasion to saving the world from a maniac general creating hordes of zombies. There isn't really and cut storyline and missions are given to you with no real reasons behind what you're doing, but they keep you wandering the five area maps. You have access to these different areas at any time, further keeping progression from reaching the story. You can play with up to 4 people locally, but there is no online support to the multiplayer. Tackling the 50 missions alone can be a task not having support from the other classes, and some enemies can be insanely hard with the wrong character chosen. The world is portrayed wonderfully with a 3-D feel from your top-down camera, one of the few good features in the game. Delta Squad feels like it falls short in many places, but could be a good time killer for younger players. Delta Squad could have been much more than it is, given a coherent story. Expand

I try to see the good in all things, but Delta Squad puts that ethos to the test. It is at least 4 player co-op, so you can share the tedium with others and even poorly done, a top down shooter still has trace elements of fun – though ‘trace’ here is being extremely generous.

Delta Squad on Xbox One is okay for the price, but don’t expect more bang for your buck. You get a campaign, a survival mode and generally a time-waster that can be forgotten about in a day.
