Dead or Alive 6 looks absolutely stunning and when combined with the sound design it makes this game one of the most immersive fighting games I’ve ever played. The Dead or Alive franchise doesn’t get enough recognition and I was a little disappointed with the previous game in the series I was still excited for the release of Dead or Alive 6. From the beginning the game the presentation made me take notice because visually this is probably the best looking fighting game ever created. The wow factor thought, because that is reserved for the actual fighting in the game. I’m excited to say that they’ve hit the mark as every move feels fluid and satisfying. You’ll be playing for hours on end for quite a while because in terms of content the game has quite a lot of depth. There’s also a couple of new additions as well, as I really enjoyed the new quest mode because it was very rewarding and it gives you reasons to continue playing the game. Dead or Alive 6 has very few problems and the problems, it does have are very minor ones but in the end you almost get a perfect experience so the game gets a huge recommendation from me. Dead or Alive 6 is a game you should buy even if you only have a slight interest in fighting games, the eye candy alone is simply stunning with gameplay to match! Thumbs up! Expand

This game fails with the fans, lack of game modes, extras like private paradise, and boring costumes because the west can't handle hot women.
The best things are the new characters and the graphs. Other than that was very disappointing.
I feel bad for the new characters. - Changed costumes to satisfy people that can't handle a woman in skimpy costumes; - Changed Kasumi default

Game runs amazing on the One X. But once you're bored with the fun gameplay you're left with just grind an expensive microtransactions. It's a shame this could her bring the game that brought DOA back on top.

Man this game is good!I can't believe I'm saying this because I played so much Tekken and hated the DOA series for the longest, but wow it's really turned around for competitive players!Looks great and the roster is huge for the start of the game

Huge ripoff. It has input lag issues, horrible online play, weak single player content, arcade mode is bad, story mode is bad and costume unlocks system is horrible. Day 1 dlc practices galore. Screw this game.

DoA6 is actually full on action fighting game, just like DoA always is . you can side step to avoid, you can rotate around the other fighter, you can push and kick your opponent across walls and of ledges to find yet another beautiful level to fight on, the fast paced action never stops.

DoA 6 brings it like DoA always does.. full on fast pace action, not over complicated controls and simply gorgeous levels. does it have a deep story, no of course not . It is a fighting game, imo it does not need it .

One negative critique I can give is definitely the really expensive Season pass... but honestly I do not feel it is worth to deduct a point for it because the season pass adds more or less clothes, that is it. There are several clothes to unlock and included in the game as it is .. and the clothes makes absolutely no difference to how the game is played making the season pass very optional.
If you like to customize your characters more then playing the game .. buy the season pass.. if you do not care about more clothes, do not .. does not effect the game what so ever, and therefor it will not effect my score.

No game ever deserves a 10 in my opinion, as every game ever made always have something that could be better ..there is always rooms for improvement. So as a DoA fan for years i give this game a solid 9

While this great game will NOT be featured at this yrs EVO videogame event in August, due mainly from my knowledge an event held in Japan during a live stream, it does not warrant blacklisting from the event but it happened. However, I am not swayed by whatever "EVO" states hence why I decided to support the game via purchase.

Overall, I feel this is a solid offering from a developer that does NOT possess the sheer amount of recourses that a Namco, NRS and Capcom possess yet they offered much. And while LOBBY MATCHES not being available at launch stings; however, I will remind EVERYONE the s**t show that happened during the launch of DRAGON BALL FIGHTERZ regarding its own take on lobby matches *Ring matches*

No game is perfect however but at launch DOA6 has:
    1) Arcade mode
    2) Story mode
    3) Double the roster at launch
    4) Many customization options
    5) Extensive training mode
    6)Intuitive guide for new players
    7) Can choose who you're fighting in Ranked
    8) Has listened to many fan complaints about the game to ensure a great product

So, while it has an insanely priced Season 1 dlc and Lobby matches will be available later in March, It's nice to see this game has tons more content on launch day than STREET FIGHTER 5 did and that must not be understated. As for the dlc, it's mostly costumes and 2 characters from what I've seen...
Personally, I'll purchase whatever costumes I like and buy the two characters due out in June separate from the main season pass price. SO to reiterate, you are not FORCED to purchase this season pass lol! The price of $92.00 is an OPTION but you will be able to buy individual items.

In conclusion, for anyone complaining that this game does not have the Tag team feature, that is something Team Ninja states they MIGHT bring back depending on the success of the game sales wise, but they also decided to focus on the 1v1 aspect of the game and I am glad that they did since this iteration is an amazing product. So, if you're on the fence, PLEASE take it from me...an old Tekken veteran when I say this game is: Fun, looks amazing, nice music, varied characters, surprisingly deep gameplay for those who take the time to do more than just mash buttons. And a rich Story mode that's no just 10 mins long. Go out and show your support.

There has never been a 3D fighting game that has developed each characters personality better then in this series. Tecmo has always done a great job of providing the clothing options that meet the personality of each character and they always are a perfect fit for them unlike Soul Calibur and Tekken where clothing can be too big or just not look right.
It is for this reason I believe that the DLC is a great way to keep the game fresh and I hope that they will continue to add new fighter and costumes as they did with DOA5LR.
As for how the game is, well if you liked the DOA5LR then you won’t be disappointed acccept for 2 main issues the 1st is that the removed Tag Team. I loved this mode and no one ever has done it so well the interaction that the fighters had with each other was a fun way to show the way they feel about on another. Removing this feature will be missed and I hope it finds its way back. The 2nd issue is the problem I have with the destruction of the clothing in DOA5LR it was random depending on the outfit it was natural looking if clothing could tear that easily. Now however it feels tacked on with every female fighter no matter what they are wearing there mid drift is exposed after a powerful strike. This is only true with destructible clothing. With some male fighters their shirts are ripped off completely. The problem with this is that if you turn off the Violence Minimization setting to not see the clothing distraction but you want the violence to show facial damage it can not be done.
Those issues aside I love this game and am looking forward to its evolution I am looking forward to trying out Mai Shiranui and the New SNK fighters along with the others they will be adding the game.
One final note, the two new fighters Nico and Diego are both a great addition to the series.

The game is fun to play. Going through the Unforgettable scenery that is the DoA Museum fills me with nostalgia. At least 500G for the hunting-achievements just exploring the game and playing. The theme of missions and the randomness of the fragments forces you to play with all the characters. Its modular structure of "data catalog" allows you to play and buy in the store with real money the articles and characters that you want you are not obliged to have all the extra content. The story continues right where DoA5 stayed

The bad: The triangular system disappears (in the manual it says that it is but playing you realize that no) and the combats are a frenzy of crushing RB without penalty and blue bar powers. It is not clearly explained how to unlock certain costumes or fragments for costumes or entries in the Encyclopedia. Now in version 1.01XYZ you can not play with friends online or make lobbies. Currently you are not penalized for leaving the Ranked Match. This story seems to be more part of a DLC or expansion of DoA5 and with the exception of the Ninjas, the "stories" of the other characters are completely disposable and are only there to fill. There is a section of Data in text to explain certain things about the interaction of the characters, but in previous versions they tried to make each character have at least their cinematics of these interactions.

The Meh!: The previous stars of DoA have grown and everything seems to be in family and comes a generational change with Honoka, Rose Mari, Eliot, Kokoro ... The stories of the characters that are not the Ninjas go from the sublime to the ridiculous and in the end they are just funny or absurd excuses. Diego goes from being the new boy to runner-up / champion and Nico with interesting background becomes the most hated and stays in a huge cliffhanger (which suggests that there will be more ...)

The gameplay is great. It feels like a mix of virtua fighter and tekken. The micros are just costumes. Given most fighting games don't have that insane amount of customization who grinds for just a costume? Just play the game and enjoy it for what it is, a sophisticated 3d fighter that's not Tekken.

While the lack of a decent story mode disappoints us, the other modes such as arcade mode and DOA Quest will provide more than enough entertainment for a long while. Dead or Alive 6, for better or for worse, tries to do things a little differently in this its sixth installment, and it is definitely a game worth taking a look at.

Overall, DOA6 is a nice package. While the grind for the costumes is real, the quest modes is a great way to learn more about all the characters in the game, and while the online mode is sparse for now, the support for this game will come in due time. Aside from all of that, the most important thing is the fighting mechanics and DOA6 delivers in that aspect. This is a great fighting game for both beginners and advanced players. The ins and outs take some getting used to, but once you do, you feel the satisfaction of pulling off that amazing counter and finishing up with a devastating combo, and end the end, that’s all that matters. Fighting game fans will have a great time here.
