While Dead Effect 2 had its bumps and rocky moments, I certainly enjoyed playing through the game. I’d even go as far as to say the bad dialogue and accents sort of grew on me by the end. For $11.99, this game feels like an absolute steal when considering the high replay value and three different types of classes to play as through the story. Dead Effect 2 is worth the buy.

A decent experience. It’s a mobile game that was ported to console and that much is very apparent.

Dead Effect 2 is a game that offers a fantastic visual experience, but lets itself down with very basic issues. That said it is in no way a terrible game, and those looking for a viable first-person shooter should certainly give it a bash if you’re fed up with the usual titles on the market. If precision and polish is something you can’t look past though, then you may feel slightly disappointed.

Dead Effect 2 offers us a frenetic space shooter were we’ll have to fight hordes of zombies while we find out that problem’s reason. With some evident issues in its mechanics and the graphic aspects, this adventure will give us hours of entertainment if we achieve to get used to its rough controls.

You can sense the good will and the intention to deliver a decent shooter . And while the splatter factor is satisfying and the shooter mechanics well thought out, technically this needs a lot of work – or the change to the newest version of Unity as BadFly implemented it on PC in September already.

Dead Effect 2 is a game with big aspirations that simply doesn’t reach the heights for which it shoots. Every neat premise is compromised by shoddy balancing, uninspired combat or strange design decisions. While there is a ton of content with 20 story missions and a bunch of additional game modes, none of it is as fun as it could have been.

Dead Effect 2 is the perfect example of how not to make a port of a mobile to console game. It is a 'free to play' game turned into a payment game, with bugs, repetition, and a totally absurd plot with horrible gameplay. At least, they have not included micropayments like in mobile versions and it has a good amount of weapons and customizable character features.
