Extremely shallow game. Overly-simplistic controls and fighting mechanics combined with a lack of differentiation in weapon feels. Basically what this game boils down to is spending 5 - 30 minutes button mashing the same two buttons.

The depth just isn't there to keep interest. This could have been lined up with an early 2000's arcade game and I wouldn't have been able to tell the

Seems bland and cheap , looks like a quick grab for the monster hunter audience . Also the loading screens take years so I have barely experienced the actual game.
    Connectivity issues insane

Ignore the positive reviews attempting to call out negative reviewers. This is is unfinished, unpolished, and downright boring most of the time.

It's a very basic monster arena. I cannot stress just how basic it is. You'll understand the entirety of the games complexities without the tutorial or any help at all because it's that shallow. It's the exact same artstyle as Fortnite. If

It's the exact same artstyle as Fortnite. If that's your thing, neat. For me, it wasn't. It makes it feel unoriginal and uninspired.

On the PC version there is no option to quit matching-making once started and you are FORCED to join a group and play a hunt even if you're not interested or you misclicked. The only way out is to close the game entirely and relaunch. What were they thinking?

All the weapons feel the same. Yeah sure some are faster and some hit harder, but ultimately their variety doesn't matter. It's a bunch of extra stuff for nothing.

This game could be good but I feel like it's the love child of the developers... The love child that's a product of incest and should have been aborted.

    Just skip this one.

Dauntless kind of took me by surprise. While I expected a game that was Monster Hunter-like, and it is, I actually prefer Dauntless’ progression path, as it’s not discouraging overall. Yes, there’s a big grind the higher tier you get, but the payoff for finally crafting that new armor or weapon is fantastic. If you’re paired with a poorly skilled team, you’ll most likely fail, but I love that it’s simply fighting the Behemoths without useless filler in between, so getting right back into the thick of things doesn’t take long with the cross play enabled. It’s free to play, so might as well check and see if it’s a hunt you’ll want to partake in.

Dauntless is essentially Monster Hunter but simpler. That’s certainly not a bad thing in my eyes. And to sweeten the deal even further, it’s free. You can spend money to speed up certain processes and make your character more unique if you like, but it’s not required to have a lot of fun. Unlike many other free-to-play games, Dauntless never makes you feel like you’re missing out if you don’t spend any money. Needless to say, if you’re after an action RPG along the lines of Monster Hunter to really sink your teeth into, you can’t go wrong with Dauntless.

If you’re a fan of the action RPG genre and love to dish out major pain to monsters that would otherwise eviscerate you, you’ve found the game.
