This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. well, lvl 44 now so played a fair bit. It is engaging, the main storyline is pretty cool. The interplay with Johnny is cool. Night City is pretty extensive and you can spend a lot of time cruising around. There are some obviously flaws - random crashes, don't go into the settings menu (you can't get out!), I'm not sure if it's cos i'm late in the game but i can't find any crafting recipes any more to craft top tier gear. I do have legendary's etc but they are getting old.
Once you get a decent suite of quickhacks - combat is pretty easy - you can snipe bads from a long distance and they never touch you. Took me a while to find out that melee weapons were pretty good though (pretty powerful too). Levelling up is a slow process so each level is pretty powerful - the skill trees are well designed and make you think hard about where to spend your points.
I've done a couple endings now and there isn't really anything else left to do in the game - other than random side street encounters which aren't very interesting. I do like how some of the side quest chains continue at random times (not sure what the trigger is here) which keeps some side threads going nicely though i think I've run out of those too.
Over all its an ambitious outing and i hope they can tidy it up and add some more longevity to it.
Well worth a look if you like the genre.
(pity you can't get yourself an AV!?)
Playing on an Xbox One X - which runs fine for the most part.

The long awaited and now super hated Cyberpunk is here! So I feel like its impossible to not mention the technical issues of the game. I want to report I've only played this on the 2 xbox systems as mentioned. So far I've has zero crashes and few to no bugs. I will however note that HDR is terrible on this game and absolutely broken. The colors are all but drained from the game and it looks totally washed out on my 4k display. I don't have junk tv either im playing on Sony x930c and a Panasonic Zt60 plasma. So that my main configuration is on a series X on a 1080p display.

I have to first start out by mentioning that this is absolutely the most beautiful open world game i've played. The lighting in the game and reflections are night are stunning. The 60fps under performance mode on the Series X is the absolute best way to play on console bar none. I've had little to no frame rate drops or hitches in performance. The texture work is crystal clear too. In most games NPC look a whole tear down in quality vs the main characters but, this isnt the case here. The graphics really do show an evolutional step to a new generation. This however is at the expense that base console probably shouldn't have even been released.

The music is totally rad. I'm loving all of it and the only complaint I have is that its not on enough in missions.

The skill tree and leveling system is good but it is in no way unique or special. In fact this game is such a rip off of Deus EX I cant believe no one is pointing it out. If you liked Deus HR or MD you'll like this too even if its not nearly as good and is a blatant rip off.

Cyberpunk isnt this massive revolutionary game it was toted up to be and will probably let people down based on hype and expectations alone. However there is a solid open world game here. The missions while not flushed out and as polished as they should be can be fun. The real experience here is just how exceptional the main story mission is. Everything revolving around the scripted story is aces where as everything else feels like slapped together content. Over all I think its really fun game and experience that you should get around too albeit maybe a little later once its patched more and cheaper.

Cyberpunk is a mixture of massive open world possibilities and fabulous storyline/voice acting and linear gameplay and missed opportunities. There are secrets all around to explore from the different ways you can approach and play the game to the hidden objectives within the quests. You could get lost in its rich and crafted depth and yet the developers decided to opt for a skimming off the top of all this and leave you bereft of meaningful objectives.

The gameplay and graphics are excellent, and I thought I’d dip my toe in the game and do a few missions before I upgrade to the series x next year and the “Full Game” was released. The next thing I know, I’m about 5 short acts into the game and I’m prompted to save my game. I’m thinking at this point that I’ve hit the start of some main plot twist and then... “the end”...

I finished it. I thought I’d only just got started. I’d only done about 1 mission in the badlands FFS! Seriously, this has got to be the worlds shortest RPG...

It’s an RPG with the campaign length of a first person shooter. Really this product was not ready, and I’m not just talking the bugs. I would say it needed another year in development focusing just on the high end hardware. They really needed to flesh the storyline out across the whole map and get you immersed in the cyberpunk world. It’s a great game. Well worth the money, but it’s just such a missed opportunity that it’s a real shame.

It's a great game but the bugs really take their toll..Other amazing innovative games like Fall out and KKD had bugs but not this bad..The worst thing is they get worse the longer you play, so when the story is really picking up their is jenk pulling you out of the experience..The console version is miles from acceptable , still..But there really is a potential masterpeice under it all.

Unfortunately the immersion is broken by police that spawn out of nowhere and NPC's which ignore you walking around with your dong out.

The story though is engaging and enjoyable, with varied missions that aren't too laborious. Characters are likeable though there are maybe a few too many. Sometimes your phone rings non stop and different characters introduce themselves and it can feel a little overwhelming.

I trust CDProjektred and I think they will eventually deliver on this game. If any game has identified the broken vision of the harmony that Microsoft have tried to deliver across multiple generations of consoles, it's this one.

You can see that there was a lot that went into the creation and development of this game, but I have never had any console game hard crash as much as this one. Ever. I have had consoles since the PS1/PS2 era. Maybe I was fortunate in the past, but it makes it very difficult to give this game anything but a mediocre score if it's unplayable as it was intended to be experience. All of that said this game has the most vibrant, lived in setting I have ever seen. The voice acting alone has me coming back after every frustrating game crash because it is easily some of the best I've experienced. My biggest issue with this game, outside of the technical ones, is I don't really have a sense of what I'm supposed to be doing. Most of the time that's okay because there's so much to take in, but the tutorial level was frankly garbage. I'm so tired of VR tutorials. It's what a hack developer would do for their game (pun intended). I'm also in a little bit of shock at the core game loop and the action elements of this game. They feel old and dated. That's compounded because the controls are stiff and gun play at first is very loose as you need to progress and make your recoil and aim better and tighter. As far as the game play is concerned I'm not sure if the mission based "go here and do this" main quests/side quest really does anything but bring the game down because the behind the wheel driving physics are definitely lacking and getting anywhere in the car sucks me right out of the game. The hacking mechanic is fine, but ultimately confusing at first because there is SOOO much to keep an eye on for leveling your character and how your "RAM," or the cost of hacking, is utilized and necessary to execute any hack. The hacking mini game however still makes no sense to me and I will have to look up what it is they want me to do when that is happening.

I'm having fun in the game in spite of the above issues. I like the characters. I love the world and it's potential and I know in time this game will get patched. I know in time there will more content. However, this is the game that was released and the best I see this deserves is a somewhere in the land of mediocre.

    the pros:
    - the city and the atmosphere: really amazed by how living the city is. The city lights are amazing, feels like to be in Blade Runner. Loved also the different neighborhoods, and the badlands.
    - main story and character writing: the main story is short but very immersive. the side quests related to story characters are well-written and you bond with each of the protagonists. the cons:
    - exploration: the city is amazing to look at but feels shallow. you are free to explore very few buildings and apart from side quests/vendors, you won't find many NPCs willing to talk
    - nearly invincible police is very annoying
    - driving and not being able to customize/pimp cars
    - crafting and engineering: the former is very confusing and lacks explanation, the latter feels redundant

    the mehs:
    - items: there are many consumables but I only used max docs. do not feel like there is a great variety of armory and clothing. - romance: just one option per sexual orientation feels boring. They also could have made all characters bisexual as other games did. - side quests and contracts: side quests found in the world sometimes are fun and cheeky (my favorites), sometimes are too short or lack scope. contracts are just okay.

Hello! I played my version of Cyberpunk 2077 on an Xbox One X console, digitally bought.

    About the Bugs...
I can see the outrage with the bugs and other reviewers are extremely mad about it and to be honest... I understand why. When I knew there were going to be bugs I shrugged my shoulders and accepted that I would be receiving a bugged out game, but... was quite shocked to see the actual amount of bugs that plagued this game, which I myself started to question as too why there were so many. The bugs are there... freezes, crashes, missing art on guns, T posing NPC's the whole lot of them but with the quick save features, whenever I did crash or had to leave the game, it put me relatively super close to the area I crashed at so I was able to continue to play my game onward without any hiccups... until I found the next crash that is... Is it playable...? Yes.. it very much is, and you can get through the storyline and complete the game but it will feel like you're trudging through mud while doing it.

    Story:
I was a bit disappointed at first with the story... I was confused during the beginning of the game as to what was the point of pushing through the story if it was kind of... typical, and then.. it hit me. The story got good and real fun. There's a lot in this game.. A LOT of MEAT to tear and chew through but when you get to the good story plots... you've put your seat belt on and are fully on for the ride! The story is worth it in the end, its a slow burner until it "hits the fan" per say and when you get there... it will absolutely be worth it.

    Sound:
With the heavy amount of guns and cars throughout the game... I thought that some of the sounds might have gotten overlooked but to tell you the truth... It didn't. Different guns... from the same TYPE have different gun shots to them. When you shoot someone with a pistol that is supposed to be stronger.. you do feel the power and feel like you're holding something lethal in your hand when fighting different enemies. Enemies that look scary, feel heavy, and different cars that range from expensive to cheap all have their heavy engine sounds to them which I was pleasantly surprised to find.

    Gameplay:
Here's where we finally get to the good stuff. The game is fun. Not going to lie to you. I played as Male V wielding a Katana and Sub machine gun while hacking my way through enemies. You would think... wielding a katana sounds weird right? Well... I wanted to try it and built my way towards a melee build and it was absolutely viable. Normally, when you do any kind of melee build in an RPG game that was marketed for gun play one would assume I would be struggling quite alot with a bunch of game over screens but that was not the case here. Investing points into the right perks made me feel like a bad*** samurai slashing my way through enemies and feeling awesome while doing it. It felt fluid and smooth when I ran... crouch slid into cover then jumped out of cover as an enemy came at me and pulled my katana out for a righteous bloody kill. Its awesome and I recommend everyone to at least try it. The AI... its not that bad, they play fairly smart. Its not as bad as people says it is... really... you will have fun no doubt... especially if you've got a bloody katana in your hand slashing through enemies like Raiden from Metal Gear Rising.

    MISC:
The inventory and amount of items in the game are just overwhelming.. At the start of the game you will be selling or dismantling alot of your gear with a bunch of stats you won't really understand until you reach a certain point in the game. The amount of food and stat buffs there are to me personally bulks the game down.. its just baffling to me why there's so much food in the game you won't really have the chance to even eat. The standard "Med Hypo" thats like any red potion in an rpg was good enough for me..

    Overall Final Thoughts:
This game should be a 9... BUT. A HUGEEE BUT. There are technical bugs that just hurt the entire experience for me. There are minor gripes that I have with the menu and inventory system and the game crashing every so often makes me... *sigh* with sadness, but what kept me going was the amount of fun I was having killing guys with my katana and enjoying the storyline. If the bugs get fixed and the graphics can be played at the resolution it was suppose to be played at, this would be an EASY 9.5/10 for me. But as the game is right now... My final score is a 7.75/10. I didn't go lower for one reason. CDPR WILL patch these nuisances up... It WILL be fixed... Do NOT Fret my boys, and when that glorious day happens, I will be the first to change my score from a 7 to a higher score. All we need is patience and in my humble opinion, we should all just be happy we are even allowed to play the game... even in the state its in... instead of seeing another scary "Delay Email" again. Peace, love you guys.

People, let's are honest, it is a masterpiece with bad optimization and in all cases, it deserves something higher than a 0 or 1 that you put. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Overall, i’ve had a good experience with this game. I’l break it down into performance and gameplay, and then my feelings on the story.

Performance/ Gameplay: On Xbox one, semi decent, far from perfect. Far far better than it was on launch, a lot of annoying freezing issues fixed as well as graphic issues, but a fair few still remain (Answering text while driving causes you to carry on with zero control, etc) I’ll be replaying it on the Xbox Series X once i’ve got one, as i feel it’s hindered the game a fair bit playing it on a 6 year old xbox. Shootings decent, as well as combat, very detailed environment with plenty to do, i quite like the almost jokey feel to a variety of the descriptions of items and job’s too. Drivings a bit flakey, but i’ve played racing games all of my life, so i’m probably a bit more judgmental on that aspect. Love the aesthetics of the game, really blade runneresque. Cars are super cool too, with a really cool design take to them. Techno radio station is cool too, if that’s your bag.

    Story:
(Spoilers) Really enjoyed the overall story of the game, very well developed and written, characters are very detailed and interesting also. Good length to the main story too, i’ve finished it in about 25 hours. (I’ve done next to no side missions bar Panam’s quest line) However, my main issue with the story is the ending, and Panam’s quest line.

Once you come to the end game, it will jump back to your save previous to the end game section. I’ve never been a fan of this in most games, as it sorta feels like i’ve not finished it, and my actions in the end game section don’t really have any bearing as they essentially never happened. Panams story line is absolutely wicked. So it’s a real shame that a character with so much depth and a huge cool story line attached that could be so much bigger is literally just cast off once you complete it, (until end game) you literally go from being really interested in it and wanting more to almost feeling like your favourite TV series has finished forever and thats that. Pretty annoying tbh, but this and the ending are my main issues with it. Overall, glad i bought it. Very unique game, with an interesting story and plot, very enjoyable and i’ll be playing more of it. I’d recommend waiting it out a little so a few issues are fixed if you’re on PS4/Xbox One.

I know my expectations were high.. but I genuinely do not want to play the game until it’s fixed - or I upgrade my hardware. I’m playing on the most recent patch (12/14/20) and have spent hours tinkering with the settings. Even @ 1440p with HDR off I feel forced to fast-travel. Load screens and vape breaks are better at holding my immersion. In terms of story and gameplay, Cyberpunk has met most my expectations. I was hoping for some kind of reinvention of the wheel.. but it would’ve been nice to see some kind of innovation when it comes to the RPG elements. There is the typical amount of life-draining trash accumulation (loot) and scrapping for parts. Nothing new. When the world isn’t buffering it looks amazing. Audio on all levels is top-shelf. Starting missions is always exciting and feels novel. And even when it isn’t, the gunplay holds up well enough to fill in the gaps. I expected more options when it comes to your living space(s), and was pretty let down by the vehicles. Luckily, everything is so well modeled and designed that the lack of customization doesn’t feel like a total compromise, maybe just a personal preference. I’m not sure why they put so much “detail” into the character creator.. when none of the choices you made are relevant, and none of them can be changed. Hope you don’t get to level 15 and find out you chose the wrong nose.. They can give you missile arms in 2077, but not a haircut. Compared to other games and my expectations: 85/100. Based on the performance of the game (which has been in development since 1973.. supposedly FOR my console.. does no one that remember Keanu was on the Xbox stage?): 65/100. I preordered the game based off the devs track record of not being EA (if you’re reading this and you buy HUT packs I hope you don’t see 2021). I’m not looking for a refund. I know they will fix the game and add amazing DLC and fee content. I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed. I came to the realization that CDPR is my favorite of the big game developers.. but that’s just like saying they’re the most polished turd Expand

Has some issues and does crash occasionally, but I have no doubt it will get the Witcher or No Man’s Sky treatment - and will get patched up to a solid 10/10 if the PC is anything to go by (I play on xbone, my fiance plays on PC so I have a direct comparison)

It’s the tapeworm mission glitch and the patch didn’t do anything i’m currently deleting all my data in hopes my game will be fine. I think it’s because you have to do quests in a specific order even though you have the options to do them in any order. It definitely needed another few months maybe even a year. If you’re one of the people who say “Maybe you should get a next gen console or PC cyberpunk was supposed to be a next gen game” 1st of all its not the game was in development about 8 years ago it was planned to be in a last gen console and they were always ambitious with it. They should’ve posted something saying the game would be buggy if they released it now and maybe a poll would be nice. I preordered it for Xbox hoping for an amazing but instead i’m in the hole 60 dollars and disappointed. Expand

This game may go down as the most disappointing game in history if CD projekt red doesn't get on with the patching! It is absurd that the game had so many delays extending the release date back year after year and it feels like they accidentally released the alpha version instead! There is soooooooo much to do in this game and the story is really good and the graphics are fantastic but those points are only a minor part of the story. From the moment I boot up the game I get bombarded with minor irritating glitches all the way up to game breaking crashes. In my around ten hours of playtime I have experienced these issues, among others! Falling through the ground under the map, rubberbanding, rendering not able to keep up with itself while driving. Everytime I move from one room to another I have 5-10 people popping up from delayed rendering. I also have buttons not recognizing they were pushed, sound skipping and repeating, and multiple full game crashes! With this huge list of problems with the game I still give it a 7 because everything else besides those issues is a flawless game that tries a lot of new things I just really wish even half the glitches weren't there because the game itself has me hooked!! I have been playing for over 10h and I have experienced only a single crash (base Xbox one). Most criticism are correct, but not accurate or at least, they do not represent my playthrough. Frame rate drops are very rare (at least to the point it is noticeable), it happened to me only once. The biggest hindrance I have experienced is when an event occurs while driving (for exemple, you get attacked while being driven around NC). When this happens, the game will freeze for 10 to 20 second, where I'm convinced the game crashed, but textures keep loading oddly and then the game picks back up and continues. I believe the biggest criticism is around the marketing. They have been presenting a vibrant NC, when in truth it is rather barren. But to be honest, I am not really disappointed. I'm used to the incredible "in game video" used for marketing that look incredible, when in truth it is fairly ordinary. As such, my expectation for CP were similar and I expected a very tone down city and graphics. The story is incredible and very engaging. I have never been so invested in the events of a game. The shooting is ok and sufficient for an RPG. I would recommend this game on Xbox one to anyone who asked, assuming they can distinct marketing from reality. It is a far from a flawless game and anyone giving a 10/10 is a ignoring its unpolished state, but nevertheless it remains a very entertaining experience. Expand

If you as any review rating this 8 or above on Xbox, ignore it

Behind all the optimisation is a great game (with some missing content)

Story is great and so are the characters but I’m waiting until the Series S is back in stock to start again because the One S is unbearable

Gram na XSX i jedyne co mogę powiedzieć dobrego o tej grze to ilość detali tego świata i to, że sama gra może być dobra, ale tutaj potrzeba ogromu pracy.

Love the game but it has quite a few bugs. Npcs t-posing when being touched slightly with a car, cops spawning inside buildings but can still shoot me, character going bald when equipping Headwear, textures now loading quickly, and some others.

The frame rate and bugs are terrible. But it's an amazing game if they can work out the issues it'll be a 10 out 10

    - current PS5 version is NOT final next generation console version

    - PS5 upgrade for PS4 version owners FOR FREE
    - XBOX Series X upgrade for Xbox One version owners FOR FREE
    - in next gen versions Night City will not look "dead"
(now it does somehow, due to the need to reduce number of NPCs)

Warning: This game needs up-to-date hardware to function properly!

What do owners (I am myself) of PS4 or Xbox ONE expect?
    No graphic glitches?
    No crashes?
    60fps?

You also may play this game on an eight year old PC and get similar results.
CP2077 is not the first to look really bad on old gen consoles (and old PCs) and wont be the last.

Get used to it or get powerful hardware (as soon as it is available)!

It’s because of this fun gameplay and this great story that it’s such a shame Cyberpunk 2077 performs like it’s still in alpha.

Overall, I think there’s a lot to like when it comes to Cyberpunk 2077, which has been unfortunately marred by poor performance issues on a number of platforms, and some poor communication (along with some overpromising) on the part of the publisher. It’s clear that a lot of work went into putting this game together, and it’s unfortunate that it had to release in a state that feels a little unfinished. It’s still a game you can very much derive enjoyment from, even in its current state but your ability to overlook open-world bugs and performance issues is certainly going to factor in quite a bit.

Cyberpunk 2077 didn't meet my expectations, but also didn't disappoint me. It delivered an RPG experience like no other, delving deep into themes like control, awareness and addiction. The combat is great and the graphics are amazing, but the bugs and some under-cooked systems make it seem like the devs got lazy, and that's always a bad sign. (Played on Xbox Series X)
