    Crown Trick warrants a play from all Roguelike or turn based games, a worthy challenge with a change in pace from a typical one life only game. A truly joyful movement-based game with amazing art and combat depth, try it out if you’re a part of Game Pass day one.

    Despite these drawbacks, Crown Trick very quickly dug its claws into us. While it may not be everyone and isn't as approachable as other recent attempts at the genre, it's unashamedly challenging in all the right ways. It has a beautiful art style, a fantastic soundtrack, complex gameplay and an addictive loop that will make you want to have just 'one more go'. It's a perfect Xbox Game Pass title and a fantastic game in its own right.

    Crown Trick on Xbox is one that encapsulates the true depth and intricacies of the random chaos in roguelike RPGs. The gameplay systems and mechanics are both rich and daunting, and they lend themselves to an organic turn-based experience which is deceptively simple on the surface, yet imbued with strategy.

    Crown Trick surprised me with its synchronous movement mechanic, adding a unique layer of strategy but allowing me to play at my own pace. If you’re into dungeon dwelling or roguelites, there’s something of value here with its charming style and great artistic style. For those not sure or on the fence, Crown Trick is available on GamePass, making trying it out as simple as it gets to see if it hooks you.

    Fun strategic rogue like game. Cute graphics. Puzzle rooms with extra gold are a bonus. Took me 2 about weeks to finish the game.

    Solid roguelike that has kept my interest for a while. I'm knocking a few points for some buggy situations with the controller but it's stillSolid roguelike that has kept my interest for a while.     PROS
    - love the more standard roguelike mechanics but the additions of Blinks and various types of weapons make it pretty fun to try out different combat types
    - campaigns have different chapters and are fairly long which breaks the monotony of the standard "run" in most roguelikes
    - weapon type variation is pretty cool. i have mostly preferred ranged but had a good time with a few melee builds as well

    CONS
    - Story makes no sense at all
    - ranged weapons are tempting because they are significantly easier to build around
    - many buggy situations with controller sensitivity making it clear it's a PC port. Buttons press twice, extra movements trigger on one stick move, cursor is hard to get onto enemies to preview them, X mapped to blink and interact causes issues with interact disappearing and requiring a move to get it back. mostly harmless but i find myself having to be VERY careful at times in combat.    … Expand

I only played through this a few times as I find the genre repetitive and time-intensive, and am no longer willing to make the commitment to get really good at one unless I see something special. There was a good variety of enemies, abilities, power-ups, and encounter scenarios that I saw in my brief playthroughs, and the game was fun and different enough from other rogue titles to stand on its own.… Expand
