Creepy Road is a mixed bag of pros and cons. Whilst it looks and sounds the part, handles quite fluidly, and comes with a diverse variation of enemies and weaponry, there’s just too many glaring issues holding it back. Chief among them being lazily designed boss battles, poor hit detection, and several environmental bugs. It’s a shame really, because had the developer held the game’s quality to a higher standard, this could have been a hit.

Creepy Road is a game filled to the brim with promise. It presents a cool, stylish world with a really vibrant art style, but is ultimately let down by glitchy game mechanics.

After playing the game, then the presentation was definitely one of things that shine in it, and while the gameplay isn’t perfect it still remained fun despite the little small control or detection issues. The game as a whole, is simple to grasp and you never get bogged down by details so you’re free to shot and destroy the enemies that you come across along your journey. The game can be quite unforgiving, and the difficulty will cause you a few frustrating moments on occasion. You’ll also have to deal with a few technical issues I mentioned along the way as well. Despite this, I still carried on with my side-scrolling adventure, and I’m pleased I did because there’s plenty of humor packed into the story and characters within. Creepy Road is a great game to pass a bit of time every now and then and even though it isn’t the best game, it offers enough fun and enjoyment to get a minor recommendation. I'm overall on the fence, I enjoyed it but not sure it's for everyone that may journey down the Creepy Road. Expand
