Cooking Simulator has delivered on all ends. When I play a simulator game I look to see if the game lives up to its name and this one has exceeded my expectations. If this were an actual restaurant it gets five stars from me on its Yelp review. Now it’s time for me to put my virtual skills to the test and try them out in the real world. Totally won’t end badly, right?

Cooking Simulator is a simulation cooking game just like you can get it from the title alone. In spite the fact that I don't enjoy simulationCooking Simulator is a simulation cooking game just like you can get it from the title alone. In spite the fact that I don't enjoy simulation games myself this game created a different vibe and I reluctantly actually enjoyed myself. This might also be the first game that I have played that has too much controller feedback. For example If you’re holding something and bump into a counter, there’s not a light rumble to let you know that happened, but instead a long and continuous rumble until you stop touching it. There is the option to turn the rumble off completely, but not to just bring it down a tad, and if you’re going to play with your sound off, then the vibrations are a big aid in telling when your timers are going off. There is a visual cue, but it can be easily lost, especially when playing in handheld. You have a set amount of cash in the game and continually earn more as you progress, so your success as a chef will improve your overall reputation, give you access to more ingredients, recipes, and improved cooking equipment. Put everything to a side and you can say the game is really promising fun for everyone even if this isn’t one of your usual genres it’s worth looking into for your Xbox One console. Expand
