Rarely have I seen an Xbox game with clunkier control functions. Are developers actually still using pie menus in their games? Are developers actually still using pie menus in their games? I haven['t seen that for awhile because I don't ordinarily play games that look like they're 20 years old. This game forces you to operate the two toggles simultaneously while switching back and forth between two competing pie menus that are on two different sides of the screen. So your eyes have to go back and forth to see which of the 8 functions you need to deploy to make the bucket on the backhoe go the right direction. Instead of being able to keep your eyes focused on one menu. Which is an asinine set-up. The equipment control functions should all be on one menu. The buttons and triggers are way under-utilized and that's one of the biggest give-aways that this game was not meant for console and was adapted. It may work on phone and PC, but don't waste your money on the console version. You'll be cussing up a storm just trying to dig your first hole. The controls are really that bad. Expand

Construction Simulator 2 gives a fascinating insight into building processes, and a deeper appreciation of specialist construction machinery. Once past the initial learning curve, the gameplay is methodical with a meditative quality that will make it relaxing for some and boring for others. It strikes a good balance between realism and accessibility, and it’s genuinely satisfying to complete projects. However the realistic aspects of the game leave no room for creativity and will limit its appeal to those who can find satisfaction in completing set tasks. It's a niche game, but if you're interested in construction you might dig it.

Yes, it’s just a port from a successful mobile game and the controls might work a lot better on a phone, but it does the job intended of it and will appeal to a lot of sim fans.

Construction Simulator 2 is so unrelentingly strict in its stringent adherence to following set tasks, there is absolutely no chance for imagination or creative outlet. Put simply, failure to follow the precise steps laid out for any particular task results in a breakdown that negates the contract or job, resulting in lost time, revenue, and any potential for enjoyment.
