    An ideal pack for nostalgic people who vibrated with the classics of RTS Commandos 2 and Praetorians and for all those who love the genre. An ode to Pyro Studios that comes to Xbox One.

    Commandos 2 / Praetorians HD Remaster Double Pack contains two excellent videogame productions with a glorious past, but the treatment reserved for at least one half of the package (Commandos 2) leaves something to be desired.

    The Commandos 2 & Praetorians HD Remaster Double Pack on Xbox One has one average game, and one way past its sell by date. Commandos 2 has certainly aged but has enough neat little additions that it looks like a spring chicken in comparison with Praetorians. However, it is still arguably not enough to recommend the entire package for a bang average game, especially when the other game is Praetorians. Even with the HD treatment, Praetorians looks, sounds, feels, tastes and smells bad.

    I’m not sure if anyone was really clamoring for this double pack on console, but here we are. While not a bad pairing, the main issue is that both games, Commandos 2 and Praetorians, suffer from showing their age. Time has not been kind to them, and while they’ve been given the “HD Remaster” treatment, it’s still quite a rough go visually and mechanically. I actually ended up enjoying Praetorians moreso than Commandos 2, but time has not been kind to both games.

Like I said earlier this is a remaster and not a re-imagining so go into it with getting two games of yesteryear made better and you won’t have any concerns. In the end the game acomplishes what it sets out to do, it’s ultimately up to you on your level of desire for the two titles in the bundled remaster for your Xbox One.… Expand
