The art style is quite good. Characters are well designed and everything is colorful and has a chucky look to it. Sadly, the game around it is just a poor attempt at following a trend in gaming. A good rogue-lite puts the fate of the player in their own hands; success or failure depends on your grasp of the mechanics. Here, unless you are really a fan of the X button, frustration soon gives way to boredom.

With slow dialogue, repetitive and stressful combat encounters in which enemies glitch out of the map and push you into lava far more than you deserve, and a game length which is rather insulting for the price, I can only be honest and tell you to stay away from Claws of Furry.

The game can be fun at times when played on your own this game shines it’s brightest when played in local co-op with your friends and family. In terms of content the game has a decent amount for you to get to grips with and each mode has enough variety to keep you coming back for more. The gameplay doesn’t suffer with many problems at all and I really enjoyed the beat-em-up style they went with because everything performs well. The enemies can be fun at first It would’ve been nice if they had a little more in terms of variety. The game does take a bit of time to get used to and the difficulty at the start can be a little overbearing and cause you to experience a few frustrating moments. Sometimes it’s hard to see what is going on the screen because when there’s lots going on it’s hard to follow your character. Does Claws of Furry do enough to get a recommendation from me? All in all arcade brawlers are my bread and butter and to say I’ve sunk a massive number of hours into them over the year’s would be a massive understatement. As you can imagine then I was eager to get to grips with Claws of Furry, and thankfully I’m pleased to say that it’s actually a pretty fun and decent game. It’s not perfect though and you will have to contend with a few imperfections here and there but when in full flow you tend to forget about these little imperfections. Without a doubt the best way to enjoy this game is with friends in local co-op because when played this way the game’s charm and beauty is in full light. Speaking about beauty the game’s presentation is beautiful to say the least and this was easily one of my favourite things about the game. At the end of the day Claws of Furry has a retro feel to it and even though it’s not the best arcade brawler I’ve ever played before it still does more than enough to get a thumbs up from me. Expand
