Although the game has some technical hiccups, the game is too fun and addictive to pass up.

If dated graphics, some bugs and a “shaky” frame rate does not scare you, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare can give a lot of fun, especially thanks to the solid combat system.

It's not a pretty game and it lacks in content as well as having slightly awkward mechanics. However, there are decent maps to be seen and a couple of the modes work very well for the game, namely Team Objective and Free for All. You'll get frustrated with the game deign, but also laugh out loud at how ridiculously entertaining it can be at times.

A change of pace from the running and gunning games, though with slight blemishes in the armor.

Hindered by generic looks, technical issues and a hit detection that could barely flail its way out of a paper bag. Perhaps there's a reason we've moved on from medieval times. [Feb 2016, p.84]

Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is not a good game. Perhaps if there was a single player campaign, some competent combat, or even some unique online modes, it might be redeeming, but as it stands it is a textbook example of how to ruin a great idea.

A lacking port across the board, and a terrible multiplayer experience for all involved. Any decent content it possesses is buried under a pile of rubbish-based visuals, poor hit detection and missing content. If you must get medieval, be patient and wait for Ubisoft's For Honor. You'll have a far better time – and get a better quality game to boot.

At least console players dont get the ''fun'' of dealing of people using mouse macro's and high mouse sensitivity bodydragging to create attacks you cant actually see on speeds that are unworldly.

    Very disappointing game.

I am highly agitated I spent $20 on this game because it is a hot piece of garbage. I contacted XBOX to get a refund, and that is not going to happen, so unless you are just some die hard medieval fan, you will hate this game. Game play is sloppy and choppy. I can deal with cheese graphics if the game play is fine, but my goodness, it is a disaster. I cannot remember the last time I played a game that was so terrible. Two thumbs down. Full Review »

The mains problems would be graphics (I would rate it a tad worse than the last gen console version of skyrim) look a little bit poorly because other games such as the witcher 3 look so real, when a game like this comes along, a small step down, it is something you will notice at first. Friendly fire is also on, so you might get hit by teammates who are swinging and just hoping to hit an enemy.

The combat is superb, but this does depend on a good ping. There is nothing like getting into an intense, frenetic duel in the middle of a huge battle, only for it to end with someone losing a limb! The various objective modes are very fun. This game is just a big bucket of enjoyment. Every mode is entertaining, and combat is well balanced, with skill being the number one factor in every fight. Some classes are easier to play than others (yes, I'm looking at you vanguard!) and other require more time to master (good luck with the archer!).

This is definitely worth the €20, as you will have a tonne of fun. Just bear in mind, the graphics are nowhere near a next gen triple a title.
