    Castle Pals is a great platformer, with all the nostalgia of old school Super Mario World VODs levels. I enjoyed the fact you swapped between both characters in every level, it gave you a fresh problem to solve each level.

    Castle Pals works well as a game that you play when you need to kill a little time when out and about, but sitting down and playing it in one go just isn’t what it was designed for.

    Castle Pals is an 8bit Side-Scrolling Platformer. one night a brother and sister happen upon a castle and decide to explore it. You play asCastle Pals is an 8bit Side-Scrolling Platformer. one night a brother and sister happen upon a castle and decide to explore it. You play as siblings, switching between theme each level. The girl has some boxing gloves and can perform three different moves. She has a punch when standing, and spin when moving forward and a dropkick when she's jumping. She can also kill enemies by jumping on them. Her levels tend to be more platforming than anything else. The boy has one of those hats with the propeller on top and can use it to sorta fly. He can only kill enemies by landing on them. His levels feel like they have more puzzles in them than his sisters. There are 36 main levels in the castle, all but the first two with a target time to beat the stage under, awarding you a coin for your efforts. Hidden around each of the three chapters are gems, finding all three of them unlocks 20 more stages to play. The graphics feel like they came from the NES days, and the art is done in a very cute and cartoon-like style. The levels are challenging, and hazards come in many different forms, from spikes to laser beams. The art style and bright animation aim it at the younger generation, but some of the levels feel like they were meant for veteran platformers even though they're all fairly short. Castle Pals is good platforming and might want to find a spot in the collection of the fans of this genre.… Expand
