Definitely kind of fun, but the mechanics are pretty messed up. Shooting is okay, sprinting with the L3 button for a sports game is a terrible idea. I like the variability of button combos for dodging and checking.

My biggest problem is how stupid the AI defense is for your team is. Numerous times I have taken the ball away, it rolls near the front of the goal and the rest of the defense stands and watches while the player I took it away from scoops it and scores on the doorstep. Same with faceoffs, I will win the faceoff the ball will go straight toward a teammate, yet he will stand there and wait for the other team to pick it up. I get it, I should change to that character, but at least move toward the ball or do SOMETHING.

The character creation and team creation are definitely the best part in my opinion, but even that is kind of screwed up. I created a team and started a Career with them, and now the team and characters I created have all disappeared, which took me a couple hours to do. So that was a bummer.

The graphics are KILLER, I like the slow mo after goals are scored, but I find myself pretty frustrated with the ease the other team has scoring due to the kinks in the defensive AI.

Overall, I probably would have given it a lower score, but its a GREAT start and hopefully a bigger sports games studio picks it up so they can fix on some of the rather large problems. I hate to give such a negative review but for a game that costs $60 its pretty weak. If I didn't pay for it through the Kickstarter a couple years ago, I'd be pretty pissed I spent $60 on a game thats really more like $30.

Casey Powell Lacrosse 16 is an ambitious game, but may need to dial it back to gain more players.

As an almost full-price title, things had to be pretty much on point here and though it isn't perfect, the development team have done well to provide a game that does the sport proud.

Overall Casey Powell Lacrosse 16 is a game that offers a surprising amount of depth and replayability for an indie title. From the deep creation suite to the solid career mode, there is a quite a bit to do no matter how you want to play.
