As a professional car mechanic who has not played the other episodes of the Car Mechanic Simulator license, I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by the realism of this simulation in regards to dismantling the parts, ordering those that seem defective or repairing them when possible. Expanding your garage to optimise your workspace, buying a car at auction to make a profit and of course receiving cars whose customers tell you that there is only a "small" noise when half the car needs to be replaced, the recipe is complete. Despite some flaws in its usability, Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 is a briliant game that all mechanic lovers (and others) should own.

My only issue with the game is that it lacks in some assembly and disassembly procedure details that hinders the game immersion. Examples being fastener sequences for things like cylinder heads, valve covers, oil pans, etc. Another big thing is that the engines, specifically the V8's, don't seem to have the right firing order, and the DLC engine blocks are lacking details in the amount of crank journals. To others, these details are minor, and yes, I admit, they really are, but this is something I'd like to see addressed in the next title, as well as the absurd loading times. Full Review »

If you are a car illiterate, this game will give you a fine look to how your car is assembled the most basic way. Although it says "Simulator"If you are a car illiterate, this game will give you a fine look to how your car is assembled the most basic way. Although it says "Simulator" there is more than meets the eye in the real world. Like:
Cars and parts has often electronics in them, like Turbo´s etc.
Speaking of electronics, its very bare boned. You have a fusebox with some fuses you can change you. But no wiring.
Believe me when the ease to move around a engine room looks heavenly on simulator. In the real world, tight spaces and hard-to-reach bolts and screws can be a nightmare.

BUT.. It is a good time waster. It is pretty addictive once you get going. The controls are very all over the place and finicky to start it. But you master it soon enough.
In the beginning there is a lot of grind. There is a Story mode sort of. With a car that has a story attached to it. These cars gets more and more challenging as you progress.
You level up with perks.. And you can buy cool expansions to your garage like Paint shop, Dyno shop and storage to name a few.
As you level up you gain loot boxes. These can give you barn locations that you can visit later on to dig around in for parts and a couple or three dusty cars you can buy and fix up.
You can also hoard the junk yards as well for parts to fix and wrecks to fix up.
The coolest part is later on when you start getting cash to build up cars with tuning parts (which cost more) Fast and Furious style.
A fun time waster. You can grind for a few days on this game until you get bored of it.

Great game! Details are improved and you can now fix more parts of the car, with new tools.
