Boringest Call of Duty that put me into sleep with first minutes of gameplay. I really liked Advanced Warfare and Infinite Warfare for their awesome futuristing setting, and I completely bored, annoyed of WWII theme in 2000's.
I want back AW/IW-like CoD games. That was awesome

Good polish and pretty game, but the gameplay is nothing new, if even a few steps backwards for shooters. Also, Activision's grip is VERY apparent: In my two hours of multiplayer time, I swear I saw at least 15 microtransaction pushes. Greedy and hollow.

As an Australian it is now 57 hours since I purchased this game. I can't play online at all with a fibre connection. I will not praise a single player campaign of 5 hours, that standard should've never become acceptable. I have stayed away from CoD for a while, returning with high hopes. I'll try and get a refund today.

AND THIS IS AFTER THEY "FIXED" IT AFTER THE FUMBLED LAUNCH.

gave it a 1/10 because it has a campaign, but tbh it doesn't matter how the campaign is, its overshadowed by the fact that they have no idea what they are doing when it comes to multiplayer or social space or anything regarding a network. at all. if they can't fix it in the next day or so, its not even worth it to me. i'll be returning it without hesitation.

You can tell they tried, but this has to be the final nail in this coffin? I really tried to enjoy it but the whole game seems flacid and devoid of anything that embraces you as a gamer.
I gave my copy to my 10 year old cousin and he absolutely hates it too.

This is the first COD game I've bought in years and it's such a tragic disappointment. The main issues with the game for me are the Divisions classes, the unresponsive controls and the maps. The Division classes essentially force you to play certain ways. So instead of picking perks to best suit your play-style you choose divisions. It's needlessly restrictive and feels as though this is just another way that the developers are trying to "even out" the competition, as so to give newcomers a better chance. The maps are designed in a way whereby if you're playing S&D it's hard to flank and you'll usually just run into people head-glitching on something. There is nothing "dynamic" about this game. It's unresponsive, the map design feels lazy and the visuals are poor compared to other current-gen games. It's one of those rare instances where the game is so rubbish that I can't even be bothered to give it a longer, more in-depth review. Waste of money Expand

This game is not a true return to the glory days of Call of Duty like everyone said it would be. Setting it during WW2 didn't really do much since it feels exactly like the last few CoD games. There is a Destiny style social space that makes no sense. There's no benefit to having this feature apart from showing off to everyone what you get from loot boxes. This allows Activision to bank on other players jealousy and sell even more loot boxes.

The historical inaccuracies are really insulting too. Red dot sights and hollow sights did not exist during WW2, soldiers weren't allowed to wear colorful uniforms yet this game allows you to buy weird skins that dont fit warfare or even the time period, AND WHY ARE THERE BLACK NAZIS? This is insulting to black people. Nazis were openly racist and I wouldn't want to dress up as someone who committed major atrocities against my race.

Swastikas are censored BTW. And you can play as female soldiers just as easily as male ones. SJWs have hit the gaming industry really hard.

Not gonna talk about zombies cause I'm tired of shooting zombies. ENOUGH ZOMBIES.

Campaign has a very good story and characters are interesting, but its too short. 6 hours is too little and this game was clearly developed multiplayer first with single-player as an afterthought. I won't be surprised when the day comes that CoD ships without a single player campaign.

DONT BUY THIS. LETS CHANGE THE INDUSTRY WE LOVE. VOTE WITH YOUR WALLET.

Activision should be ashamed, clearly a move to get more money out of us. Not care to polish a decent story, nothing.
The story is dangerously inaccurate. The characters are as predictable as every bad movie you ever seen. Lifeless, idiotic bunch. The A.I. is surprising awful for a 2017 game, even for a 2014 game would be an issue. There's no ambience to the game, constantly being stopped

DLC weapons are way too common (close to as many or more than Infinite Warfare during that game's entire cycle, and this game is 6 months in as of me posting this).
You will unload on people and have them take 0 hits, multiple times a match
You will be shot around corners
The division system is complete trash when compared to Pic 10 and the classic system
Maps are mostly bland, boring, samey, and generally terrible
    Spawns are laughable

Yeah, I will under zero circumstances recommend this game to anybody. If you want a frustrating and overall crap experience, this is the game for you, even then, Ghosts will only cost you $15 so go for the miserable experience that actually works, not this pile of literal garbage.

Know that I haven't played the game myself but also know that I'm not a idiot when it comes to quality FPS games and guess what? This game sucks. You play one of these crappy cod games and you have pretty much played them all... I have done enough research and have seen that the game is as I had expected. Trash... But hey... We smart people all saw this coming. We knew it was going to suck lol. Just another terrible cod game with the WW2 paint coat put on.

Short 6 hour campaign that's not very historically accurate as advertised. Also has dumb AI and glitches on top of stuttering issues many have been reporting.

Game also has micro transactions which automatically knocks the game down several points.

Lobbies and load times are totally garbage in this game. Dead zone issues with aiming have been reported multiple times.

Trash maps that are very few with many guns missing that I'm sure will be released over time through dlc/micro transaction horse **** and butt ****ery...

Here's the funniest thing of all... Apparently the ps4 version is working better than the xbox one version. The xbox one version was unplayable for the first few days of launch for most xbox one folk... At least the online multiplayer part. So why is the ps4 version getting a slightly lower metacritic critic score by the critics???? Lol whatever... Maybe it's got something to do with that over priced and pretty much useless for gamers console known as the xbox one x? Who knows who cares...

There are other problems but I don't care to remember them right now. I'm just caring enough to do this review for laughs and for the good of gaming. DON'T buy jokes of a game like this one. They exist to rob you blind and leave you with nothing but frustration. You people should honestly know this by now. I mean for ****s sake... It's cod... It's crap division... It's supposed to suck lol.

Decent visuals though... Lets not let this review be all negativity... Gotta give credit where it's due I suppose... Just to be fair and nice : )

Even without many of the problems I listed though... It's still just trashy cod at the end of the day so I would still give it a low score lolz.

I have never actually given a game a 0 before. I gave the ps4 version a 1 since it at least runs decently on the ps4. But since pretty much absolutely nothing works on the xbox one version... I'm going to have to give this a 0. I'm sorry but decent visuals in this case being the only decent thing about the game isn't enough to give this trash even 1 point. The game being a broken unfinished mess on top of being a corporate cash cow micro transaction game designed to screw you over means I'm not giving it any credit. It's not even a game to me. It's just a scam at the end of the day. You all know it's true. Those of you who actually have a brain that is...

A pesar de tener gráficos actuales se ve como si fuera para niños. Entonces te das cuenta de que te subestiman como jugador, independientemente de que si ya has jugado a otros Call Of Duty´s. This Call Of Duty is a mockery to the intelligence, it can have in some parts good graphics and few good moments that please those who do not ask much for a game. However, they spoil a very important historical fact by putting boxes of micropayments. Eliminate a moment that should be epic for putting in the face of the player his bad practice of selling items that help you, but you lose the immersive aspect. Despite having current graphics it looks as if it were for children. Then you realize that they underestimate you as a player, regardless of whether you have already played other Call Of Duty's. The campaign lasts little between 5 or 6 hours, the multiplayer seems to have put a lot of enthusiasm seems to believe that the player is conformist and easy to handle.

The story is targeted entirely at the American audience and as a result entirely re-writes history and is grossly inaccurate almost to the point of being offensive - certainly so to anyone that actually fought in the war, what few of them there are left in the world for Activision to massively insult by writing their contribution out of history.

Thus even outside of the non-working servers, the dated gameplay, the abysmal AI, the obscure fluctuations in difficulty, there is a fundamental problem in that even the single player storyline just isn't engaging simply because it's a load of functional nonsense passed off as fact.

Activision could learn a lot from EA, whilst Battlefield 1 wasn't overly historically accurate in terms of weaponry, it's focus on the disparate storylines across the War was incredibly respectful to the countless sides who fought in it, which is far better than this insult that Activision have produced.

This is a game from a different era, outdated technology, outdated gameplay, and outdated American exceptionalism that's well past it's sell-by date.

At launch, no one in America could play for the first 2 hours. Now a week later, they've released their first "patch" for the game, and screwed that up as well. Now the game has major lag and hit detection problems. I have spent most of my day trying to complete a special order, of winning one of each game type in multiplayer, but it has not gone well. Every single time I win a game of Capture the Flag, it kicks me out and doesn't award me with any EXP or the win towards the order. Though, if I lose the game, it will count. Sledgehammer Games should be ashamed to release this slop, and Activision should be embarrassed to release this under their moniker. But they somehow made it the worst COD I have ever played in my life... First off who in the **** made the maps for the game? There is not one good map on COD WW2, they are so garbage. I'd rather play hacked lobbies on MW2 than play COD ww2 ever again in my life. Can't believe I wasted 60 dollars on this piece of crap game. I say again, don't waste your money on this garbage game. in a word - THEFT. First, the game is a buggy pile of garbage. The hit markers mean nothing and then of course the bullet drop is non-existent. Four months the game has been out and there are THREE maps for war - THREE. Instead the releases have been uniforms, weapons and calling cards which add ZERO TO THE GAME PLAY. Second, the lobby is setup with features that don't exist -in a word - THEFT. First, the game is a buggy pile of garbage. Finally, the crates for purchase are a rip off. 95% of the crates are calling cards and useless uniforms. THEFT. This is the last COD I will buy. RUN AWAY Expand

I have been a COD fan for many years now. I love Hard Core Team Death Match, but I'm here to say: WWII is the worst game I have ever bought!!!!!! I hate I wasted my money on this stupid game. The maps are really awful. I will not recommend this game to anyone.

A streamlined multiplayer and less gimmicky single-player gives CoD a nice refresh.

At its best it's a game of tactics for even the most casual player. [Issue#314, p.112]

This is another fun, fleeting, exceptionally good-looking Call of Duty game, but its World War II theme doesn't add much besides bringing some of its mechanics back down to Earth.
