You watch the kill cam and they obviously see where you are, do constant head shots and have 15 kills and 0 deaths.
And how is it a level 4 mastered the game with out even leveling yet. But I'm sure if you look tomorrow they'll be easily level 50 at their hack rates.
    Where is the anti-cheat?

Finally the solo mission is nothing special. Pretty boring. Adds nothing new.

I should have known to wait awhile for reviews first..

In a game where you shoot each other dead with tie dye grenade launchers and wacko killstreaks, this subject matter should not be within a 1000 feet of this game's narrative. The tone is completely incoherent. Severe missteps on Sledgehammer's part. The characters/story all showed promise up until the very end, which is even more disappointing. Multiplayer is riddled with microtransaction/loot box garbage and overall isn't a very solid experience even to play. The campaign does have a few really cool moments, and the technical aspects of the game are quite impressive, but overall this game is an misguided mess.

Call of Duty, oh boy. This series has been around for nearly 15 years, and year after year they release a new instalment that sells solely based on hype. I was idiotic enough to buy into the hype because of my love for COD 2 and WAW, and now I obviously regret it.

Basically, this COD was meant to be a nod to the games of old with a bs tagline of "Get your old squad back together". Well,

Basically, this COD was meant to be a nod to the games of old with a bs tagline of "Get your old squad back together". Well, I did, and while some think the game is passable and others would give this a zero, 4 is where I stand. I have played the series since Call of Duty 2 on Xbox 360 back in 05, and I believe I have just grown tired of the same formula, on top of the fact that this game is absolutely horrible. My review is more focused on the Multiplayer as it is the primary focus.

    Positives:

    - Campaign is great looking and very cinematic
    - WWII setting is nice to see again in both SP & MP
    - Headquarters setup for pre-game is a unique touch and offers some variety
    - Boots on the ground, no robots and jetpacks

    Negatives (Primarily in MP):

    - Cinematic campaigns do not equal fun
    - Nothing we have not seen before
    - Abysmal map design (3 main lanes, funnelled into the middle)
    - SMG focused CQB combat, not much variety for battles
    - No bolt action rifles without a scope? In a WWII based game? Is this a joke? (For Multiplayer)
    - Micro-transaction push with useless loot crates (near ubiquitous these days)
    - Forget about team focused gameplay (war mode is not as good as promised)
    - Spawning and spawn zones don't flip as much as they should, too easy to trap or be trapped
    - Forced perk system (divisions), does not allow you to mix and match perks to your liking as easily as previous entries

Not even gonna bother commenting on nazi zombies since it really does not change much and is usually pretty consistent in its ability to create chaotic fun and endless nights with friends. I am sure it does its job properly as its standalone mode, which I would technically deem a positive.

This game feels way too much like a re-skin, and less like a new and innovative AAA product (Yes, I know I should never expect COD and innovation to be mentioned in the same sentence nowadays). Alongside this, I have to mention that the servers for this game have been terrible as well, I did not want to mention it in the negatives as I am sure that it will be corrected soon.

Also, for the love of gaming, I do not know why Swastikas have to be removed from a game that is being released outside of Germany? It was part of WWII, gaming is not a place for sensitive SJWs to modify every aspect to their liking. The soldier configurations and officers fall in this category as well. A black woman on the front lines for the reich? Stop. Historical accuracy is important for these types of games IMO, and as great looking as the campaign may be, why are german soldiers wielding PPSH (Russian) sub machine guns in D-Day bunkers? The social justice aspect has become so intrusive in video games that its sad. I do not care who it offends, this has to be part of the review. If you want a fake and dishonest review about these games, go watch your favourite YouTuber or check your favourite game review site who both get paid to say good things about the product. AAA products are dying in the quality department with things like this and micro-transactions and nobody says or does anything about it.

Overall, you just cannot find enough positive things in this game to truly override the negatives, and for that reason, I end up giving this game a 4 or 40%, because while it is nice to see a return to boots on the ground and a WWII setting, the abysmal map design, exceptionally poor balancing, toxic community, lack of weaponry, and bad game mechanics just make this game a disaster that is relying on hype for a return to the old style of COD many of us miss. Take a pass on this one, those days are long gone.

The setting is "new" but it's still a modern CoD. The campaign is actually much better than the last games but the multiplayer is still not classic CoD. This doesn't have to be a bad thing if you like it but the developers always said "classic CoD" so I expected it and was disappointed.

It's... bad. There's no other way around it. This game is bad. The lootboxes, poor customization, weak singleplayer story, horrid multiplayer maps, and a bare bones zombie mode make this possibly the worst Call of Duty so far (although I still haven't played BO4). This is the game that made me swear an oath to never pre-order a game.

Players will ask what went wrong in COD WW2, and that’s a shame. Even if it does have an awesome campaign that you can probably watch on YouTube, it’s plagued by an awful zombies experience and decaying multiplayer.

Wowie this is bad. The campaign is the most forgettable and generic in the whole series, the multiplayer gets stale quickly, and the zombies mode is bland and not a ton of fun. I really don't like this game.

Bottom line: it's just a bad game.

I got sick of call of duty after MW2. I grew up with the franchise and had been playing since COD 2. I thought modern warfare 2 was too fast, but this is ridiculous. The game feels like a round of speedball with everyone on crack. Waaay too fast. waaaay too reliant on how fast you can get your sights on and pull the trigger than actual teamwork. Waaaay too easy to die and know exactly where your enemy is going after your death. There's things you begin to take for granted when you switch over to a game like battlefield - destructible environments, different classes that actually PLAY differently, vehicles, large maps, more team play... I could go on. The game feels like it caters to hormonal teenage boys.

This game is very easy to hate. Very easy to laugh at. And for very good reason. I didn't buy the last 6 call of duty games before this and I will never buy another one after. I've learned my lesson.

Folks using modded controllers in order to dive down with lightning speed once you're shooting them is just dumb. The quick scoping with the sniper rifles is also a joke. If they wanted this game to be a close to realistic as they set out to do, they would stop this completely. No where in the history of wars are there snipers that run and gun. You have to put your eye on the scope and then take your shot. One of these developers one of these days needs to address this. Campaign is great.

The epic scale and theater of war in WW2 is nowhere found as there are essentially 4 main characters that you don't care about. You go from shooting gallery to shooting gallery only for it to just.... end.

I was gonna write a more in depth review, but I dont think the game deserves it in its current state. Multiplayer is in shambles. As I mentioned above, playing with friends is broken. Lag compensation is broken, making firefights just a dice roll more than anything else. Only 9 maps?! The game in general is lacking any sort of polish or thought and the whole came gives off a strong vibe that it was rushed out the door. I don't believe for a second that this is what 3 years of development produces. Between the broken UI, and the broken netcode, this game is an insult to any CoD multiplayer fan. Just wait till Black Friday, or wait another few months until patches come out to make this even remotely resemble a $60 game.

The game does an admirable job of making you feel like you're a part of a war with many combatants on screen, but it is undermined by the sloppy frustrating combat. You don't know who is firing at you half the time. The last mission is one of the most terribly designed levels I've ever encountered, with rockets fired at you that you can't dodge, and so much smoke everywhere that you can't see the enemy. They've also brought back the egregious use of quick-time events, and added what are essentially terrible escort missions in the way of dragging wounded soldiers to safety. This is not what the genre was missing, and feels like a step backwards.

Has the franchise been bought enough to vitiate the original game into a political football for people who can't help themselves? Are you that bloody minded to put your politics supraordinate to the heart of a game, which is gaming, to the point where the game sucks? Here we also have historical rewriting to be more PC across the board. The Nazis made no bones about enslaving and killing off the Untermensch, with nazi peasant soldiers each allocated 120 hectares of the conquered lands in Generalplanost. Their blood and soul ethos. You won't see it here in this fanciful PC schmaltz hoping for end user$$$. Equally, the Jewish Bolsheviks fomented civil discord in a hellish way in Germany and not only Germany. The Germans had their strong views and so did the Jewish Marxists of the Soviet Nomenklatura and Comintern. Full on war was the outcome. As for us, good gaming was always irreverent and above all about gaming, amplifying these historical absurdities, not cucking, no kowtow. Amplifying! It needs to said three times. Games are about gaming, ie competition, which is totally nonPC! This is another example of sequels in the ever more oppressive framework we all live in. What a shame. Looks like the only highlights this year are racing games. Hope RDR doesn't take a turn to the left, but not holding my breath after "that" scene in zombie mode. Too much time spent on perfecting PC and much less on the game itself, as per other reviews. Campaign: Now there are some good things here. The cutscenes are fantastic, the health packs are a nice way to change up the COD formula, and it has some touching moments. However, that doesn't even come close to making it worth to play. Veteran is a challenge because of the context, and it isn't unfair in most areas. However it feels exactly like Halo, where you're a one man army mowing down enemies, while your crew doesn't do much unless you tell them to push or give you an item. The collectibles are laughable, the characters don't really feel like much and give little to no motivation for us to move on. The conflict is USA vs Germany. No other countries, when the game is based on the LARGEST WAR THE WORLD HAS SEEN with THE MOST COUNTRIES. The game also doesn't have the ability to use certain elements that were in WW2. But besides the point, the campaign is on of the reasons I played Call of Duty, and this one is very underwhelming to say the least.

Multiplayer: It's one of the most boring multiplayer experiences in COD history. Barely any guns on launch, can't get more without coughing up money it seems, and the lootboxes make the game even worse. The social space has no reason to exist, though I do like some of the things it did, like testing out killstreaks, guns, and 1v1'ing friends. Other than that, any other COD will give you a better experience and more worth for your money.

Zombies: I enjoyed every other game's zombies to some degree (excluding Advanced Warfare), but this one is the worst of all of them so far. The maps are so dark for no apparent reason in the beginning, the boss zombies are just the worst in the franchise's history, and the Easter Eggs are grindy and non-sensical for the most part. The gun play is garbage and every weapon feels terrible. It's boring, not fun, uninspired, not worth it for any zombies player.

In conclusion: This game is worth $5-$10 at most. The amount of effort that went into this game is appalling, and the priorities of the development team are clearly towards money rather than a good game. A disappointment for everyone who played or bought the game.

They screwed up the launch. That's unacceptable in the modern era, where this should be easily anticipated as these launches happen with regularity. Also, the game is horribly inaccurate. The guns are wrong and used by the wrong groups at the wrong times. There's heavy censorship. The characters are unlikable. The mechanics are annoying. The Campaign Mode was okay... Nazi Zombies is fun with friends.

The Multiplayer? I'm never buying another Call of Duty title every again. Not unless they actually bring about dedicated servers. Every single matching having one to two players that are moving 1.5x faster than everyone else, just mopping up kills is no fun. I'd recommend buying this this game up when it's $20 or less,

The game is a joke. It is HORRIBLY unbalanced. It's just like how Infinity Ward made MW2, the best CoD to date, but they also made Infinite Warfare.....the worst CoD to date, and one of the worst FPS ever made. Same company....two completely different game balance and performace presentations. Sledgehammer is the same thing. Same company....two completely different game balance and performace presentations. Sledgehammer is the same thing. They made Advanced Warfare....one of my 3 favorite CoD (the other two MW2 and BLOPS3)....then they made this travesty of a game. It's as bad as Ghosts and IW.

I sat behind someone in a Dom match....not 8 feet from them, with the Type 100....emptied the ENTIRE CLIP into them, 8 feet......8.....feet, and got 2 hit markers. 2.....2 hit markers.

This game needs to be fixed asap. The PVP is just unbalanced. There is no other work for it. This game sucks in its current build. Please fix it. Please.....I want this game to be good so bad. My K/D is a 0.78 and it is 100% from how bad this game performs.

And dont even gir me stsrted on the terrible spawn points. COD has had bad spawn poij issues for years....but this takes the cake. I've watched enemies appear dead in front of me out of thin air and kill me. (They dont appear on the ground, they fall from about 7 feet up and shoot you). Real hard to shoot people who appear right in front of you unkess you have suoer human reflexes.

The only reason this is getting such a high score is because Activision PAID for the good reviews. Notice the majority of actual user reviews are negative but the review site reviews are positive? Yeah.....goes to show you how unreliable paid reviewers are. Don't listen to that stuff......this game is a 1, at best...and thats just because I like the timeline and the guns...

Boringest Call of Duty that put me into sleep with first minutes of gameplay. I really liked Advanced Warfare and Infinite Warfare for their awesome futuristing setting, and I completely bored, annoyed of WWII theme in 2000's.
I want back AW/IW-like CoD games. That was awesome

A streamlined multiplayer and less gimmicky single-player gives CoD a nice refresh.

At its best it's a game of tactics for even the most casual player. [Issue#314, p.112]

This is another fun, fleeting, exceptionally good-looking Call of Duty game, but its World War II theme doesn't add much besides bringing some of its mechanics back down to Earth.
