    The gameplay and graphics in the campaign are absolutely amazing! That's something I realy enjoyed while I played this game...
    But sadly, that's the only positive thing in this game.
    I don't want to write about the singleplayer, because there is already enough here. I will only rate the multiplayer! Multiplayer is like..i can't find any words for it. It is so bad!     Multiplayer is like..i can't find any words for it. It is so bad!
    Ground War is not playable - sniper/camper everywhere!
    TDM - time runs out before one team even hit 50 kills, because everyone is sitting around drinking tea!
    Domination..there are two kinds of people in this mode: The people who understand what to do and the people who wonder why the flag is changing it's colors. Ah, and of course the one's with broken keyboards!
    There are so many camper in this game..just terrible for people who like to rush und play a little faster.
    Also the players in the loosing team quit their games very often. So it's not unusual that you're playing 2 vs 6. Very frustating!
    I was so hyped for this game, but the fact that 80% of the players are just sitting around with a Sniper or an SMG is just annoying.
    One thing i didn't mention is spawn camping - also extrem annoying since the update, because the spawns are changing extrem slowly now.

    Great Call Of Duty this year. Campaign is visually great introducing some new mechanics into it. Multiplayer is great, time to kill and overall gameplay flow is decent. A game pass system is going to be introduced later though. Similar to the battle pass system in FortniteWhuch is disappointing because it's not a free game. .

    The only thing that i've been seeing, is that people are rating this game based on their political view. A side from the fact that it may be offensive to you, doesn't make it a bad game. I think that the mechanics are on point, it felt refreshing but still kept the core of MW.     Don't pay a god damned moments of attention to the negative people that are SPAMMING the reviews for this game wanting it to fail it's GREAT, for once I can say that the best idea right now is to just buy it or even RedBox it and play to see for yourself.

    I hate the anti Russian angle but I hate the fact spec ops is total garbage more.

    Bought this game for co op with a friend and it's awful. No scoreboard or unlocks. No reason to replay missions and they're so hard it must be broken

Made me want to play the originals all over again. And I wouldn’t mind MW2 and MW3 to see a remaster. Game was tough to watch at times. Anything with kids being hurt is tough. Wanted to everything I could to protect them. Some more choice options in these games would be neatZ sneaking around was cool too!… Expand

    I like this game. The maps are hard to memorize because there are so many angles and spots to camp. After all, they said It was a more "Realistic" game. I understand that real-world war crimes are not okay to put into a game. But after all, it makes the game way more intense than the other call of duty campaigns and it really feels like you are living the life of the soldier you'reI like this game. Sometimes you are not allowed to step aside 10 meters left or right. It will be game over and start over. Graphics and sound and voice actors are wonderful though. Story is the worst in the series. No gray colors. Strict black and white. You can say a lot about making russian soldiers animals, it is not the main problem. The problem is that it is just generic story without any strong thoughts. Usual, blunt and with plenty dull tries to rewrite modern history events. Game litterary takes you as an idiot. Combining with a dull gameplay it is just unacceptible. 2 - Multiplayer. Feels differently, fun and loyal to newcomers. Cross play is a great feature. But at the same time multiplayer lost its unique face. It feels like Medal of Honor 2010. Better, but it is not by all means a COD experience. Veterans might be dissappointed. In the end COD MW 2019 is not a terrible game. It is even not a bad one. It is just very and very mediocre.     Good Campaign but both multiplayer and spec ops are half done. Also a shame is that Survival mode (which is not onlty 1% of the game ) is exclusive to PS4 owners. i hate this desicion.

    I read from a poster this game is called Claymore duty modern campfare LOL. People camp more and more by the day. I just spent a whole team death match being spawn trapped at the same spawn that never flipped while the opposing team just rained down all kill streaks on us. WTF

    A very high attention to detail that I have never seen in previous Call of Duty installments. The campaign is a breath of fresh air from all the futuristic storylines, and multiplayer stays fun and competitive with cross play!

    У новій Modern Warfare російські показані якимись звірами, які влаштовують публічні страти, вбивають жінок і дітей і т.д. і т.п. Все це виглядає натуралістично, але це не забавно. Це лякає. Це виглядає як пряма демонстрація російських. Противно на таке дивитися.
    В якихось моментах гра намагається бути схожою на Homefront. Наприклад, в обох іграх є сцена, де героєві належить ховатися серед трупів. В обох іграх показано те, як "ворожа сторона" вкрай жорстоко поводиться з цивільними і т.д. В обох іграх чорнуха пре навіть там, звідки ти її не чекаєш.
    Ось тільки Homefront був жахливою грою, з поламаною механікою стрільби, похмурим геймплеєм і т.д. Деякі такі, технічні проблеми спостерігаються і в новій CoD, але сподіваюся, розробники їх виправлять.
    Homefront обернувся закриттям студії-розробника і банкрутством компанії-видавця. Кажуть, історія циклічна. Ну що ж, залишається сподівається, що це не так.
    Я люблю гри Infinity Ward. Мені подобалося грати і в першу Call of Duty, і в трилогію Modern Warfare, але навіть Ghosts не викликав такого ж сильного відторгнення як ця гра.
    Не потрібно було брехати. Не потрібно було демонтувати. Не потрібно було вставляти в свою гру чорнуху.    … Expand

    I haven’t played the full campaign yet, but the multiplayer is phenomenal. When you take away the scummy ways people play and look at the way the game is constructed it’s very impressive. Also, despite the obvious historical fallacies in the campaign, it’s still just a game and isn’t meant to replace what we know as history so I don’t find that very important. Overall a super fun game fromI haven’t played the full campaign yet, but the multiplayer is phenomenal. When you take away the scummy ways people play and look at the way the game is constructed it’s very impressive. Also, despite the obvious historical fallacies in the campaign, it’s still just a game and isn’t meant to replace what we know as history so I don’t find that very important.     An example of how a technically incomparable game, with amazing shooting and excellent staging of most of the single scenes that really make you feel uncomfortable with the trek, is broken up by the Russophobic script and Nazism of the publishers. It's a shame Activision, it's a feil! I will never buy the games of this publisher again.

    This game is sublime in both its campaign & multiplayer. Infinity Ward got it RIGHT! I played MW3 for 8 years. I'm going to play this at least 8 more. Buy it, play it, LOVE IT!
    Also, if there is any doubt that Russia has an attack network on social media which was developed for interfering in the 2016 election then look no further than the review bombing for this game.     Excellent game! This game has officially brought me back to the call of duty franchise after switching over to battlefield ( still prefer battlefields destructibility and all out war).     Very good campaign and very well put together story wise. Love the multiplayer just hope they add more guns in the future. Ignore all these junk reviews. It’s been stated that this game is set in a fictional universe. They can pull names and places from real life and use them to make a story. Does not have to match up with our history. All in all a very well done game. Big step up from BO4

    Who ever gives this game a score below a 9 or 10 is out of their minds, this is the best call of duty to come out since the OG's. The Story was amazing and the multiplayer is enjoyable, if your complaining about laggy game play, i'm sorry its just your pc because the game runs just fine, and i already know anyone making a bad review has K.D ratio of below a 1.

    The game is the best CoD in YEARS. Story is fantastic, multiplayer is the best it's been in a long time.

    Great campaign start! Very real and eye-popping..
    Vetran seems to be easier than previous games, but its nice not having infinite spawning enemies like in COD4.

    Issues:
    - Kicking me out of games (8/10 times)
    - Lack of spec op missions (3 Star)

Also, the Americans are portrayed negatively several times in the game, including dishonorably abandoning their allies (just like real life). What are you all talking about? Finish the campaign before talking about the story, at least.

The missions are very short and you can easily play though the game in 4 hours or less depending on how fast you go.     Russian lads, I’m sorry this game was just a hate message to you guys, I have no clue why Libertarian Americans just hate you guys but **** would I be pissed too if my own country was dissed through a game in a modern era. I can’t really name anything you guys have done to really **** on Americans. TL;DR **** politics in games, everyone deserves a fun environment to play games in. If you don’t meet that expectation, should it be even called a game?

    Multiplayer:
    If you wanted a camping simulator with the worst maps available and some of the worst TTK I’ve seen since Ghosts, THIS IS FOR YOU.
    You get punished if you rush, but you are rewarded for camping? Your mini-map is also very small and irrelevant! You don’t even see red dots when people fire anymore! Your own guy always says “CONTACT!” when someone is seen and it’s global so they also can hear it. Footsteps are loud and claymores are the most used lethal in the game. My suggested fixes:
    • Nerf M4A1
    • Fix Ghost
    • Make Dead Silence a PERK
    • Up the movement speed
    • Create an awareness like perk so you can lower sounds for footsteps
    • Have red dots show up on map so you can ac to actually have incentive to use the Suppressor!
    • Reduce map sizes depending on the mode
    • Enlargen the mini-map
    • Fix Spawns
    • Add more modes like Hardpoint so you don’t have to camp to win!
    • Let you stay in lobbies after a match
    • Larger party size for modes like ground war or 10v10
    • Fix the Xbox crashing issue.
    • Lobby Map Voting
    • Make some scorestreaks default.
    • End Skill Based Matchmaking
    • Add Deaths and Captures to the Leaderboard on TDM and Domination.

    See the problem? Or should I say problems? Really emphasize how plural that is.

    The only things I like about multiplayer is:
    • Ground War
    • Gunfight 2v2
    • Operators
    • How fluid the weapons are

    This game has a major problem and it needs a fix now.

    If it doesn’t get fixed soon, IW already knows protest may ensue, and we’ll have another Destiny 2 situation on our hands with refunds galore.

    Final Verdict: I’d rather play BF4 for a few more years because it’s still more refined than this game. Scratch that, go play that one, it’s more fun and you’ll have countless hours on there with the lads. Plus you get incentive to grind and you have a lot of content to go through.    … Expand

    Campain is good for what it is. The game truly shines in the multiplayer aspect, which is some of the best COD multiplayer in years. The game had a rough launch but a lot of issues have been fixed. Highly recommend.

    I'm a huge Infinity Ward fan boy, but this game is pretty bad. The maps are way too big. People are camping in buildings, and windows. There is no flow whatsoever. I'm shocked that Infinity Ward put out such a bad game man. I don't know if they're even going to be able to do anything to fix it. There's a reason this game only got 3.4 user score.

    The game is made for little kids that have no skill but have good reaction time or are fine with sitting in one room and waiting for people to shoot at.

    Its my first COD since Black Ops 2 and this game reminds me of why I never missed it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A lot of people are saying this is anti-Russian propaganda? Ignore that noise, this is an actual review. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is not a great game or a good game, it's an ok game with a lot of problematic issues that no AAA game in 2019 should have. I'll start by talking about the general gameplay "improvements." At first Modern Warfare's new lighting, animations, and sound effects give the indication that you are playing a new and revamped Call of Duty game, this is reinforced by the ability to use night vision, clammer, and peek through doors. However underneath these mostly useless mechanics and the deceiving facelifts it's still the same shooter as Black Ops 4 and Modern Warfare (2007) Remastered.

    In multiplayer this years entry still has all the same problems aim stutter, server input delays, spawn killing, run and gun spam, it's a gameplay loop that frankly has grown tired and it really is telling of Call of Duty's age. In multiplayer specifically, the larger maps don't remedy any of these issues in fact they create new ones like camping and increased likeliness afk teammates. The smaller maps are all uninspired and frankly it's weird we didn't get the greatest hits of all the old Modern Warfare maps.

    Now I'm going to talk about the campaign, it's just not very good. There's one mission in the middle of the game that slightly surprised me but the novelty of taking a break from shooting in one mission and guiding a civilian to a safe place wore off on me very quickly. Most of the other missions try to shock and grab the interest of the player by having you witness something shocking through the eyes of characters ranging from bystandards to terrorists, it's not shocking or very interesting. We've seen this pov of terrorists and their victims in video games and movies before and I fail to see how this does it in a new or provocative way. In other missions, the game will try to "surprise" you by taking a cue from the page of American Sniper, you'll occasionally have to shoot enemy combatants who happen to be children or women. I know some people have said that this is in poor taste or promotes violence against women, and I definitely disagree with that, but frankly, it doesn't add to or make the experience better. It's a frustrating moment that slows night sections of the game to a snail's pace, has very little with the overarching story, and frankly yeah hurting children will just make some people uncomfortable regardless of political affiliation. Real soldiers in my family have experienced this and I know that it's something they never wanted to see in the service. I assume some group of edgelords will find joy in these moments, they are the scum of the Earth, that is what I have to say on that subject.

    Finally, I want to examine the story's use of Russian and Muslim fighters in the game. A lot of people are saying this game is Democratic propaganda because it portrays Russians as "evil" and supposedly sets back stereotypes of Russians many years while at the same time portraying Muslims in too positive of a light and rewriting history. This is blatantly false. The Call of Duty games have always sided with the US in their FICTIONAL portrayals of conflicts with Russia, it seems people have forgotten this in recent years because the threats of the last three Call of Duty games were futuristic ethnically diverse private armies. With Russia becoming a more prominent threat to the security of the US and the United Nations IRL in the past few years it makes sense that Russia was chosen as the villain in this Call of Duty game. Does it have the twists and turns of the original trilogy? No. Is it as well done? No. It's doing its own thing for better or for worse. I don't know why pro-Russia groups in the US and Russia suddenly think this game should appeal to them, it never has and never will, Call of Duty has and always will have a pro-US narrative. Regardless of how I feel about people trying to insert their weird pro-Russia politics into the discussion surrounding this game, I think this is just a passable uninspired Call od Duty campaign that relies on shock value and Captain Price nostalgia. It's no good.

    The gameplay here is as solid (and outdated) as it was 10 years ago, and the rest is a mediocre cookie-cutter shooter that's only claim-to-fame is being in a series that is way past due for retirement; and strangely this year, in particular, having a very vocal pro-Russian national group try and hijack the dialogue to manipulate modern-American conservatives. I find this ironic because my conservative friends have been hyping this game for it's unapologetic and gruesome nature. It goes to show that when you try to shove your political identity into art like this you just create a confusing mess of controversy that was frankly never necessary, and only serves to generate more interest and profits for Activision Blizzard.    … Expand

In multiplayer I currently run an M4 with A MK18 style setup and a flip up/ down hybrid. It works great for me, no so great for others, and I like that. The depth of customization is insane. Me and a buddy sounded like we were talking about actual firearms when we were just talking about our loadouts in the game. When you hit the ground at first, it's hard and you may get beat down (I did) but you just have to keep playing and get better, contrary to what many will say. Once you get create a class it gets better. As far as gameplay goes, it is still very much call of duty, but it is a lot more grounded in reality and is much more "tactical" for lack of a better term. You wanna clear a building, better throw in a flash or concussion (flashbangs are pretty busted right now, and the spam is insane) and clear the corners. You wanna cross a road that is currently lit up? Throw a smoke or run your balls off. You have to be smart a lot of the times, and that seems to be what 1. Differentiates good and bad players and 2. Differentiates good and bad reviews of this game. Sorry that this isn't your CoD mobile but on console/ PC. The weapons feel as real as a game can make them feel, the gameplay feels very nice and is a good mix between classic call of duty, and the new faster paced games (with a hint of battlefield in there). The campaign of this game lays it out, it doesn't care for your feelings. This game is what is is, and you need to adapt to play. I'd give it 9 out of 10, one point of because the spawns are not the best at times, flashbangs/ concussions/ non lethals are spammed constantly and are insanely powerful (flashbangs especially). To add to this, at times it seems like I run and run and run and then die, for whatever reason. Given some, if not most of the time, it I my fault. My other point taken off, for a final of 8/10 will be because the spec ops is broken beyond belief. Way too many enemies at times, juggernauts are almost unkillable, and they don't have checkpoints after very clear key points. We extracted this chick from a container, protected her, then extracted her just to then land and protect an APC while 20+ enemies with RPGs hiding in buildings fired on it. Or how about the infamous airport mission. You hack the terminals, which is hard as hell and has jugs bombarding you the whole time, just to get on a plane and carry out a MW3/ MW style raid on said plane, then you jump out and parachute to safety and the mission ends... No it doesn't, you then have to extract that core from a nuclear device to and extraction point, which we didn't even get to because my parachute randomly closed and killed me, and juggernauts chased the rest of my team and mowed them down. It's insanely imbalanced and lacks many player friendly things such as CPs and regular enemy saturation, which sucks because we were still having fun (for the most part). I hope they fix it, because I was very much looking forward to it.… Expand

    Haven't played any of the single player yet. The multiplayer is amazing and feels really good. The new graphics look amazing. Guns can really feel different depending on what you put on them. The maps go back to feeling like MW2 maps, with lots of different levels and spots for snipers to snipe from. Has to be my favorite Call of Duty in 10 years.

When Infinite Warfare came out in 2016, I was happy that I did not buy it, as it was another passing project. And now three years later, this game comes out which is so praised paid-criticism.     Call of Duty: Modern Warfare serves up the freshest take on a stale formula in years, with a new engine and revitalised multiplayer mode that takes full advantage of a finely-tuned weapon customisation system and some welcome changes to ballistic mechanics. While Spec Ops fails to deliver much long-term attraction, the story mode proves there’s plenty of justification for a narrative element in a modern shooter. Free maps and updates bring everyone onto the same page in multiplayer, but Infinity Ward's take on the battle pass template still needs some work.

    If you don’t mind being killed by the odd nuke – how anyone can score 30 consecutive kills is beyond our tiny minds – PvP could swallow your damn life. Pair it with a gutsy (if insensitive) campaign, and this tonally conflicted series continues to stay relevant thanks to the best guns in the biz. [Issue#184, p.68]
