Basically the same modern warfare you remember, but this time with better graphics and some added maps and weapons to the multiplayer. However this game is still great 9 years later.

Little content that got me excited. They also turned that fun, old, multiplayer into the cancerous new style, but worse. As little time you have to react in other games, you don't have any time to react. Disapointing.

“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered”

    Pros
    - Amazing gameplays (Campaign, Multiplayer, Team Deathmatch, Demolition, and etc.)
    - Good quality
    - Amazing graphics
    - Fun to play
    -

    Cons
-Has a few bugs and glitches in the game

Infinity Award has outdone themselves in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. Remember, it is a little pricey; it goes at around $80, but it includes the new game Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. You can play this game on the PC, Xbox One, and PS4. the console I use is the Xbox One. for me it is really easy to use the controls. Personally I think the PS4 controls are harder to use. This game constantly comes out with updates to fit your needs for this game and make it better and more fun. It has really changed from the older version; like it has “high definition, featuring improved textures, physically based rendering, high-dynamic range lighting and much more”(Metacritic). The gameplay looks so real that if it was a show. The quality of this game is just phenomenal.

I started playing this game on Christmas night and i was just surprised on how good it is. Sometimes the game would glitch and I would have to shut my console off because it freezes, but it’s pretty rare to glitch. I would recommend this to people who like first-person shooting games,

Overall my experience with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is fantastic. I thought it would be not as good graphics and be disappointed but i was wrong it is has amazing graphics and amazing game play. Infinity Award did the best job they could on this game and they accomplished it. This game is by far the best game play and graphics I’ve seen in awhile. If i lost this game today I would go right to the store and buy the game. I recommend this to all you first-person shooting game lovers,

This remaster is a joke. Anything Infinity Ward has touched since the original MW2 is a failure. The hit boxes are abismally bad. I should not have to reload and empty 2 full MP5 mags into an enemy 100 feet away. I remember how great this game was.....and this is NOT that game. I am highly dissappointed in this remake.

If a MAJOR balancing patch was done to balance this joke of a game,

If a MAJOR balancing patch was done to balance this joke of a game, then I would be willing to raise the score...but multiplayer is the main reason I bought this and it's neigh unplayable. It's about as bad as Ghosts...but so is the new Infinite Warfare.

Within 24 hoirs I probably have 50 games or more abd I have a 0.67 K/D. Same for IW. In Blops3 I have a 2.21. It's not me, it's this BS game. Infinity ward needs to close its doors for good.

This now 10 year old game has been polished and looks and feels like it fits in with modern games today.
This game features of course a multiplayer mode that is easily the most fun mode of this game, featuring your standard call of duty competitive modes as well as a mode I haven’t seen in a call of duty game before prop hunt where you switch sides being a prop and hiding and being the team searching for the props
though this online multiplayer does add in a loot box system for the modern day to unlock items such as skins
I didn’t find maps to be anything special, but as of right now this is the purest form of simple gunplay offered from a call of duty on current gen consoles, so if that’s what youre searching for you wont be disappointed as shooting is just as smooth and fun as its always been
Speaking of not special though, I havnt played every call of duty game to date, but out of the 6 I have played.. this 6 hours campaign is easily the dullest ive played through…
    its generic and uneventful throughout..
you play through the perspective of 6 different characters, though if I didn’t tell you this you would have no clue, as every character and mission feels and looks nearly identical throughout
This campaign takes place in the middle east and Russia as youre dealing with both a civil war as well as taking out targets responsible for the execution of a middle eastern president..
The level design here is boring
I didn’t play the original call of duty 4 but I had so much dejavu playing this game like ive played it 1 million times before
that’s how uninspired this games design is
everything was so predictable, no cool set pieces or cool moments like call of duty is known for today..
    just your typical linear
go forward and shoot things, and search houses that you know your target isn’t in but do it any way just cause… until you get to the end and climb in a helicopter
ive never been so bored playing through a first person shooter campaign in my life…
    theres just nothing special here….
    its mediocre
For its time Call of Duty 4 may have been a great and innovative game…
But today Modern Warfare Remastered is a collection of a mediocre shooter campaign and an okay competitive mode…
youre better off just waiting down the line for call of duty world war 2 for whats sure to be a much more complete package
I give Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered

I had the sapper class, detect emplaced explosives and blow them up, use RPGs to clear out rooms or shoot down helis, or hit deadspace foxholes, the machine gunner class which I LOVED going 30-1 k/d with, having a competent team close the net and funnel respawns and live opposing team members into kill zones, the field engineer, setting up explosive traps or other helpful tools while controlling flanks with any old assault rifle, etc ad infinitum.

I could've played the original MW1 and MW3 for another 5 years each MP if the lobbies hadn't gone to hell.

Subtle changes have also been made to the campaign, while multiplayer has been updated with modern FPS tropes such as supply drops. Gamers who have played recent COD titles, but have never experienced COD 4 are in for a surprise. The pace is slower than most recent FPS games due to the lack of jetpacks or any kind of futuristic gear. I would even say multiplayer in "Modern Warfare" is more comparable to "Counter Strike" than to any game in the "Black Ops" series.

I have to mention that the Tom Clancy-esque story mode in MW is one of the best campaigns in any FPS. While it now feels slightly dated, it is still a masterclass in level design. In this remaster, both the lighting and audio have been amplified to solid effect. And unlike the original game, a few modifiers have been included (they need to be unlocked) to keep the replayability factor high. Long time fans of "Call of Duty 4" should appreciate these new additions and improvements to the story mode. As far as the multiplayer is concerned, it has been left mainly untouched. You can now unlock more gun paints and badges than ever before. However, the genre has rapidly evolved in the past 9 years, so what was once groundbreaking is now less impressive. Certain players may feel underwhelmed with the online play.

Overall though, "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" is still a classic and this remaster is a very good one. So if you're a fan of "Titanfall" or "Battlefield 4", but have yet to play COD 4, then make sure to play this version. The original set the template for modern day shooters and this update adds a nice graphical polish and some new multiplayer options. I'd rate it with an 8.3 out of 10.

However, multiplayer is the exact opposite. This game has no idea what it is doing when it comes to design. Maps are more "realistic" which does not work for player vs player games. Players want maps that are fun, interesting, and balanced more than they want a copy and paste map from the campaign that promotes bad spawns and exploitable lines of sight. That being said, these maps are by far the worst that Call of Duty has ever seen. Spawns are also downright terrible, as the majority of player deaths will be a result in having a bad respawn on smaller maps. Kill time is reduced to limit player skill, to help casual players not feel like they're terrible while playing against better players. However, skill based matchmaking is in casual playlists in this game, resulting in exploits in the meta (the best strategies and playstyle that most players use). This dumbs down the game and forces everyone to play the same. A complete embarrassment to Call of Duty, this game favors players who hide in corners more than it favors the skill. As such, this, in my opinion, is the worst Call of Duty ever created in terms of its multiplayer.

I rented MWR a year ago and I had high expectations for it as I had heard nothing but praise for this game. Boy was I sure disappointed. I feel like I am the only one who thinks this, so I am going to get out my thoughts here:

1: The characters are all awfully written. Captain Price is a war criminal who tortures and kills people with no remorse. He has no good dialogue or motivations in this game, and yet we are meant to like him because he's on our side. Quite literally everyone else is either silent or has little dialogue, none of which is memorable or good. I guess Captain McMillan or whatever his name was had some decent quotes, but other than him this point still stands.

2: The conflicts going on in this game are uninteresting. For some unexplained reason, the Russians are having a civil war, and the SAS intervene. Similarly, the US marines decide to invade some country in the Middle East (the game doesn't even say which country, it literally just says "The Middle East", which is lazy). They do this because the leader who liked the West was usurped. Now this is reflective of real world events, which is great, but it is boring since there is no character building or good gameplay options, which I will get into in a bit.

3: The game is only about shooting and nothing else. It doesn't even have a theme or a moral lesson like the other games in the series do from what I remember. I get that it's a first person shooter, but as mentioned earlier, when you take a minute to sit down and have the characters talk and show personality, it makes the game better. Both Black Ops 1 and World at War do this, and they were released in 3 years after MW, so it's not like it was impossible to do back then.

4: Level design: The first few missions are just "go here, shoot these people, and move on in a linear format, and do the exact same thing next level." All ghillied up and the mission right after it are well designed as they deviate from this pattern, and some later missions also deviate from this pattern, so they get a pass. I just wanted to get this grievance out.

5: Replay-ability value in the single player: There is little to none. You can't choose your load-outs before each mission, you can't go in many other paths than the one the game forces you to go down to, and there are no great or funny moments with characters to see again. They do have intel and cheats, so that can somewhat spice it up, but it won't be amusing after the first few times.

6: Multiplayer: It's fun enough. For the most part it copied the original, which is fine, but it shows its age. I had a decent time playing it at times, but I soon realized that it was outclassed by newer multiplayers with more active players, different modes, kill streaks, and so on. So why play a decent multiplayer when you could play a great one?

7: There is no third mode. I get that MWR didn't want to stray too far from the original, but it genuinely would have been an improvement if they had added some sort of spec ops or some sort of side mode like that in addition to the campaign and multiplayer. It wouldn't have interfered with what the people liked about the original, while adding something new to it.

Everyone except me seems to love this game for some reason, and I genuinely don't see why, other than for the nostalgia of the original. The original is not very good, unfortunately, and therefore this game is not very good.

Even after ten years the campaign is as engrossing as ever while the multiplayer focuses on classic gun battles on huge maps. Unfortunately this is not yet available as a stand-alone.

Infinity Ward's seminal Call of Duty gets the revamp it deserves; Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered gives the 2007 shooter a new lease of life, enabling newcomers to see what all the fuss was about and veterans the chance to relive a classic. The best Call of Duty game just got even better.

The campaign is still just as epic as before. The multiplayer is tremendous and offers a whole different challenge to its sibling, Infinite Warfare, with a much different way of approaching the game and your tactics inside it. And it looks terrific, especially if you look at it nine years ago first.
