I only bought this Call of Duty for the Zombies as I've just given up on the hope that anything different might come from the Multiplayer or Campaign than from previous titles. Been a while since I wrote a review on a CoD game. My favorite CoD were COD4, MW2, and BO1...everything else to me was garbage. So why the 8 rating on BLOPS 3??

This is the first well balanced CoD game (imo) since MW2. The weapons are all functional with no bad weapons. The kill streaks are balanced and toned down, as are weapon attachments. Lots a small tweaks like the removal of the n00b tube and ditching crutch perks like Toughness or Juggernaut. So mechanically it plays like a GOOD Call of Duty.

Now the changes. It is pretty, but it is still the Quake engine from 1998, age is still showing in comparison with say Rainbow Six Siege or Halo 5. But the art direction is enjoyable, as are the new gameplay features. Wall running is ripped straight from Titanfall, but is functional and it actually has purpose in the maps. The jet packs are WAAAAY toned down compared to Advanced Warfare, which felt like a bunch of Toddlers high on Crack zipping around everywhere on poorly designed maps. Seriously AW was a crap fest and the jet packs were too jarring to use. Now it is fluid and gradual with very limited use; again balanced. Specialists are many and fun adding a little character to your soldier loadout. None of the specialist abilities are overpowered and they do not break the game as they are easily stopped by other players or have situational functionality. They are not "I WIN" buttons! Map design is fantastic, not memorable with the exception of a couple maps, but well designed with classic lanes of control taken from earlier CoD games, so that is a plus.

Content is important too...I will give some credit here big time. The game is pushing DLC, but it feels the DLC is developed outside of the game cycle, proper DLC and not cut. BLOPS 3 is FRONT LOADED with tons of content. Two single player campaigns, Nightmare mode, full coop zombie campaign, full multiplayer suite with TONS of customization by including the paintshop and gunsmithing. Battlefront and EA could learn from this.

Now the negative: It is CoD, nothing new or ground breaking. For me (a person who sat out every CoD since BLOPS 1, tried AW and dropped it; I was franchise fatigued) this was refreshing to jump back into. A solid CoD title that to me brought back some high points of multiplayer fun that I remember having in MW2.

    * Solid gameplay mechanics and sound/music, nothing wrong in that department.

    Cons:

    * Horrible campaign, not only does it stop following the previous black ops storyline but it's a bland military shooter at best. Bland main character, bad voice acting, messy storytelling.

    * Nightmare mode. Sure they didn't have to add this in in the first place, but everyone sure would rather they had put that effort into the campaign before creating this steaming pile of **** What is nightmare mode? After you beat the main story you will unlock this mode, it's the campaign mission again, but the human enemies are replaced with zombies and there's a new storyline, only it's just audio written over the old cutscenes. Lazy and unnecessary.

    * Microtransactions. It was bound to happen eventually, but they added microtransactions to the game called "cod points" also known as CP. These can be used to buy the new liquid divinium in zombies or items in multiplayer, which both effect gameplay!

Final Verdict: Buy this game on sale for the zombies or multiplayer if you're into them, if you're just getting it for the campaign, don't buy this.

"Call of Duty: Black Ops III" is the biggest game in the series, if not the best. In fact, it's nowhere near being the best and fans of the previous BLOPS will be disappointed that it isn't a conclusion to the Alex Mason story. This third "Black Ops" game doesn't resemble its Cold War-set predecessors or even"Call of Duty: Black Ops III" is the biggest game in the series, if not the best. In fact, it's nowhere near being the best and fans of the previous BLOPS will be disappointed that it isn't a conclusion to the Alex Mason story. It is, however, loaded to the gills with plenty of content and most of it is fun. This third "Black Ops" game doesn't resemble its Cold War-set predecessors or even the Michael Bay-influenced "Modern Warfare" games. Instead, it is a bleak and violent cyberpunk adventure that blends elements of "Ghost In the Shell" with "Deux Ex" and "Metal Gear Solid 4". Adult anime is an obvious influence.

Story-wise, this is a flash forward to the dark future hinted in "Black Ops II". With a convoluted story and a bizarre ending, "Black Ops III" is the "Bioshock Infinite" of the franchise except without the subtlety. Graphically violent and dark to the extreme, the campaign of will be remembered for its ambitions, if not for its storytelling. I also noticed that memorable scripted events are scarce in this latest entry. The franchise's trademark of Hollywood-like setpieces is still present, but you'll most likely remember the endless shootouts with drones and robots. It can get a little boring, even with fellow players. The campaign can be played with four others, but it is easily one of Treyarch's worst despite the addition of "Bioshock"-like powers.

While the story mode is distinguished with its graphic content and future setting, the multiplayer stays true to the COD online formula with a few changes. Call it the "Destiny" influence, but Activision seems to have placed some elements of their newest IP into "Black Ops III". Multiplayer now includes 8 different classes of soldiers each with their own special attacks and abilities. Also, you can now purchase chests from a "Gunsmith" with "Cryptocoins" (a form of currency earned). These chests include Common and Rare weapons, skins, attachments and various goodies. Of course, Treyarch's "Zombies" has returned and is now spread into three different modes; "Shadow of Evil" (an evolution of past Zombie maps), "Dead Ops II" (a retro 2D shooter) and "Nightmare" (a remixed campaign featuring zombies). Treyarch has also included a few "Mirror's Edge"-inspired race challenges and a combat training arena that recalls the VR missions from "Metal Gear Solid".

Overall, "Black Ops III" is a monster when it comes to content. It's an even more ambitious game than the surprisingly good "Advanced Warfare". But with a bad narrative, an okay campaign and a pointless split-screen option (the graphics resemble a PS3 game), it's not as good as it could've been. However, multiplayer is still strong, "Shadow of Evil" is a blast to figure out and "Nightmares" (while not perfect) is fun to play. I'd rank this latest COD with an 8.5 out of 10.

First off, if you've rated this game lower than COD: Ghosts or COD: Advanced Warfare (also known as Call of House of Cards), remove your rating immediately, because you're doing anyone sane who doesn't already own the game a disservice.

There is no facet of the game in which BLOPS III is not superior to the other Call of Duties in the current rotational cycle, both because of what it has and what it doesn't have.

    What it has:

    1. An intriguing, lengthy and outside the box campaign. This is something Black Ops developers and writers are probably not used to, and for a first effort at such a frankly-Inception like story it is very intriguing. While this is possibly the only area in which AW competes with BLOPS III, and who doesn't like Kevin Spacey these days, the AW story became far too predictable and literally a House of Cards rip-off, so BLOPS III still wins.

    2. Nuketown. 'Nuff Said

    3. Local online multiplayer. Seriously people, look at the lobbies. At least 10-20% are (1). And the only reason it's that low is because people pay for Gold to be able to track their stats. Console gaming will ALWAYS be community-focused. So stop demanding split-screen go away, and code it better.

    4. Zombies, and a cool premise for it with the Noir theme at that.

    5. Free Run

    6. Intelligent map design, considering the game mechanics.

Perhaps more importantly, what it doesn't have:

    1. "LOOK AT ME TURBOBOOST DASH AVOID HEHEHEHEHE." Look kiddies, if you want to play a game that is completely unrealistic, play Halo or Titanfall. Getting rid of the thrust and Exo **** from AW was essential. Treyarch was completely right to ignore it. Call of Duty is a different style of game. We don't need vertical maps. We don't need jetpacks. Good, quality ground warfare is what a CoD should pride itself on achieving. I don't even hate the wallrunning. I'm not a fan of the dash slide, simply because aiming a gun successfully while doing that motion is nonsensical. But it's still much more rooted in the purpose and style of the game than AW was. We don't need Halo, Earth Edition.

    2. The nonsensical item system that was Ghosts. They tried to change up the mechanics. It failed. Hard. Pick 10, a Treyarch development, is the way to go, and it has been good.

    3. A development house who succumbed to the "local multiplayer is dead" fools. Rock Band just came back for christ sake people. Do you think people are playing that by themselves?

Why do people continue to defend this game series every year? The Call of Duty franchise has drifted out into realms that it just wasn't created for. the game has gone from one of the all time greatest World War 2 simulation games in 2003 to a mess of "modern" game mechanics that just DO NOT FIT. Why bring "boost jumping" and robots into a franchise known for its war scenarios?

I can understand the decision from a developers point of view, seeing the success of other games in the shooter genre such as Halo and Destiny but this does not mean one has to jump on the bandwagon and rip off every other game just to get a slice of the action. We have a "sci-fi" shooter in Halo, we have a "class based" shooter in Destiny and a "futuristic" shooter in Titanfall. We currently have no modern war games of this generation anymore cause every developer just wants to copy what has been successful for other franchises. IT JUST DOES NOT WORK. Let other developers work on what their games are good for and stick to your own. You wouldn't put peanut butter and jelly on a steak dinner would you?

About the game play: Campaign is... Campaign... Is there a campaign? An awful story about robot invasion and humans being turned into cybermorphs? THIS IS NOT A GOOD STORY ARCH. Movies have tried it and most are absolutely terrible. We don't want this s**t in a war game.
Zombies is just another lazy attempt at a survival based game. Sure, it is fun, for a bout 10 minutes, until you understand the maps and what is required. Then its just tedious repeating the same thing over and over.
So, multiplayer. The reason people buy Call of Duty. Is it good? Absolutely not. The arsenal of weapon available for multiplayer is about as unbalanced as it gets. Do the stats shown actually mean anything? An SMG with 3 points in damage, 6 in accuracy and 4 in fire rate is a better choice than an assault rifle with 8, 10 and 6 respectively. Won't even mention shotguns. That's an article in itself.
The classes are probably the only thing that is done well in this game but to be honest, it isn't hard to get that achievement. Replacing many perks from the previous Call of Duty games and abilities from other games can make a nice change but do they belong in a Call of Duty game? No. A bow with explosive arrows.. Hello Gears of Wars Torque Bow. Slam into the ground with a shockwave.. Hello Destinys Titan. Hell, there's even a class that looks EXACTLY like the titan from Destiny... Become invisible for a brief moment.. Hello Destinys Hunter... Boost jump, Hello Halo and Destiny... Sliding and wall running.. Hello Titanfall. The flamethrower is probably the most unique class and weapon in the list.
To top off this mess of a game this time of year is all the little kiddies that now plague the game. Does this belong in a game review? Probably not but it a topic that comes up a lot with modern games. The game is certified 18 for a reason. Yet for Christmas, parents feel to need to go out and buy their loved little ones this "violent" game. The the lobbies get plagued with pre-pubescent kids talking s**t.

A single review isn't going to make but really, why do these games do so well. It is obvious that a majority of players hate the way this franchise is going, yet they still release s**t game after s**t game. Why? It's easy money for them. Stick "Call of Duty" in front of a dead fly and people will buy it

Perhaps if the campaign had forced you to learn them/use them as you progressed I would've been more comfortable using them and enjoyed them more.

I put a serious amount of hours into the multiplayer and prestiged. It is a solid multiplayer offering for the series if you don't mind the new style of CoD where everybody is flying through the air like monkeys because of the jetpacks. There is plenty of variety of game modes etc to keep people busy and coming back for more.

The CoD series is at its best when it builds the world and sets the scene with patience and discipline. In MW1 you sneak through the forest and crest the hill just to see the nukes launch, headed for the U.S. and suddenly the race is on. In MW2 you trudge through the sewers of a gulag and breach the walls to come head to head with your old friend Capt Price.

BO3 has none of that nuance, and Activision has convinced itself that what the game needs is more bad guys and bigger spectacles. Between hordes of stupid AI enemies, drones, and bionic spells, it's impossible to figure out what BO3 is going for. In the original CoD you fought off Nazis from the back of a truck with a 0.50 cal, in BO3 you fight off advanced assault mechs from...the back of a truck, with a 0.50 cal. The plot is convoluted and the multiplayer is Titanfall lite.

Modern Warfare embodied the spirit of its villain Makarov, who uttered "It doesn't take the most powerful nations on Earth to create the next global conflict. Just the will of a single man." as the game pitted you as a rifleman in the midst of vast chaos. BO3 on the other hand, thinks that the will of a single man is nowhere near enough, and instead requires a vast arsenal of useless gizmos and gadgets to get anything done. The result is a bloated mess that gets in the way of a series that once had such great storytelling.

Game is pretty solid for Game play, Zombies is much much better than Black Ops II. Multiplayer has gone back to basics and is more solid than the past 2 Call of Duty Titles. Would recommend buying if you like Call of duty Multiplayer.

"Fine" but extremely disappointing. The campaign leaves a lot to be desired, but we all know we haven't had a good Call of Duty Campaign since Modern Warfare 1 and 2.

Let's go ahead and jump right to what everyone wants to know. Online multi-player. How is it?

Imagine taking League of Legends, Titanfall, and Advanced Warfare, and throwing them all together. That's what this is? They introduce what's called "Specialists" and you have to choose one of them, then you choose your class. At the loading screen it shows you all the specialists of your team and the other team, sort of like the heroes/champions from league of legends. Each specialist has one special ability that is usable 2-4 times throughout a match, based on time and how well you're doing with kills/scoring. Much like a titan. Things like, gravity daggers, exploding crossbow, burst of energy, grenade launcher. Etc.

At the end of every round the "Winners Circle" is shown, showing the top 3 players from the winning team, and the number one player has unlockable "taunts" where they say something super lame like "One shot, one kill. They never saw it coming." or "Go back to bootcamp!" and it is just an extra annoying tid-bit that wastes more time before getting back to the lobby for the next round. Not to mention it agitates me more that I have to listen to some stupid taunt from the guy who kicked my trash.

Then there's my personal least favorite part of all. Boosters. Yes. You've got boosters. They're not exo-suit kind of things they just... are. Human enhancement etc. But you have a very limited jetpack boost (extremely similar height as a double jump in advanced warfare) and then you have a sliding boost to propel you forward in a prone position. These are the two most effective ways for evading enemies. And it's really. really. annoying. You have someone in your sights and start shooting and all the sudden they propel themselves 20 feet forward on the ground. Imagine dolphin diving in black ops 1 with rocket boosters on your feet. Or they take off through the air and shoot you down. All-in-all I think this is the absolute worst addition (as I thought the exo-suits were in Advanced Warfare) in this game. HOWEVER there isn't a crazy motion blur effect on all edges of the screen as there was in Advanced Warfare so that's a welcome improvement.

While the boosters are limited, it's not too bad as your feet stay on the ground quite a bit, but the boosters refill quite quickly, so you have plenty of juice to jump around, slide around, and all around go wherever you want. Except... not everywhere you want. You still can only go where you could normally go on your feet, or.. sortof. For instance, if there's a rock formation with a few trees on top creating two paths, you can't boost over the rock and get to the other side of the path, even though your character is clearly high enough.. just some invisible wall stops you.

The launch day has not been without it's bugs. Several times I've been searching for a game and it just stops searching. Completely. Nothing's happening. It's just sitting there. NOT searching. I have to back out and search again to find something. (Yes my NAT type is Open) Drops in games. Glitching (not the ability by the specialist called glitching, but actual glitching) of getting stuck on a wall etc. And talking about the pre-order bonus mixup Activision has found themselves in is a whole other story.

Long-story-short. My copy will be going on Ebay tomorrow for some 12 year old kids mom to buy him at the same price I bought it for, while maybe I'll pick it up in a couple months for quite a bit cheaper. This advanced warfare 2 is not at all what I wanted in the next Call of Duty game, and while the game is "Fine" overall, it certainly isn't "Good" or by any means "Great" I think Black ops 2 was GREAT, as well as the first two modern warfares, and I thought black ops 1 was decent, and Advanced Warfare was rubbish. Of course the sales will be through the roof and Activision and Treyarch will consider this game a complete success, but me, as well as I assume many other players out there like me, long for the days of Call of Duty 2, 4, MW2, and Black Ops 2. Call of Duty needs to keep our feet on the ground, moving at a normal pace. No boosters, no exo-suits, no sliding, flying, or wall-running.

If you're a die-hard Call of Duty fan you'll most likely have a "fine" time maybe even a "good" time but this won't keep you and your friends up for hours playing into wee-hours of the morning watching kill-cams and having a blast. You'll move on to something else soon.

Co-op campaign has also made a return and they opened the maps up a lot to make space for everyone and there unique load-outs. The campaign was full of ups and downs of enjoyment and boredom, I'd go from having fun to mindlessly defending a person as enemies poor though a doorway. The ability to customize and level up your guns in single player is a nice touch but doesn't stop the game from feeling extremely liner. Multi-player is similar to previous games and is very familiar to fans of the series, but other may not enjoy it as much. Odd spawns, extremely powerful guns/kill streaks and other elements can make the game very frustrating for some and enjoyable for others. There is a nice variety in game modes to, it ranges from TDM, ranked areas and the crowd favorite Uplink. Zombies is even more over the top then before with most regular zombies being company by big monsters and flying bat type creates witch makes zombies feel very overwhelming but enjoyable.
Fans of previous games in the series will enjoy black ops 3 but new comers or old fans looking to rekindle there love for the game maybe pushed away by some of the changes to the series.

The campaign tried to change from the past Call of Duty games, the other Call of Duty games have the same story pattern while this one is a little unique, this campaign added abilities like the hacking ability or using bees to kill an enemy, but in the end you find them completely useless and just shoot your way out of the level. The multiplayer in the Call of Duty games is always fun and entertaining, for ten minutes just like this game. There are no improvements or adjustments to this one other than the mash up from the Black Ops III campaign ( the abilities, weapons, etc. ), if you want to pay $59.99 for the multiplayer you can just pay less for Black Ops II.
At this point the game deserves 6/10, but if it wasn't for Zombie mode this game wouldn't be worth buying. Black Ops III zombies is definitely better than the past Black Ops games, rather than running around shooting zombies you can do that and more, unfortunately there is only one map during release or without the season pass, but it's still fun, the are many things to do and secrets to find, it's surprisingly addicting.
Overall the game is only worth buying for zombies or if you don't own Call of Duty Black Ops II, the slight improvements in zombies and different play style are positives. However like any other game out there, it has negatives too, besides what we talked about earlier, there is also the HORRIBLE connection with the servers. At first, I thought I had bad connection, but my friends had the same problem, disconnected? good luck logging back in. So overall the game deserves a 7/10.

I won't like, I've had a lot of fun playing the campaign and the multiplayer even if it just frustrating! That's the COD rules, there will be plenty of ridiculous kills and deaths which make this game awesome yet frustrating. This COD is not bad, but it is not the best.

I have been playing call of duty since the very first one, at the time it was brand new and amazing! Then modern warfare came, which was simply just amazing, a step into the modern day warfare. Since then they have not stopped growing, all the way to the future, with all this new tech and new weapons and new movement systems.

That's the problem , they implemented all these new features which just do not live up to their expectations or potentials. The multiplayer has been evolving ever since the best call of duty, modern warfare 1, however the main problem i find is that the maps are getting smaller and smaller but the movement is getting faster and faster, meaning you end up traversing the whole map in under a minute. Any guns other than the ones with good handling and damage, a.k.a sub machine guns, are useless. Who is going to use a sniper in those maps, sure quick scoping is fun but useless now. With the addition of the new classes your usual cod tactic does not work as you have to adapt. This would be a great features if it was more fun than annoying! The respawns are ridiculous, for example if you play in domination and go capture the enemy base, they will respawn at the base while you are capturing it and simply exterminate you. The spawn are messed up. The gun as great and new as they are, are simply a reskin of the old ones. The new movement system feels stiff and recycled. Titanfall got the running on the wall done so well, cod tried to do the same but made it so unfriendly. Overall the multiplayer is just another call of duty , nothing new, only a different skin on the weapons and map, the only new thing being the movement system, as fun as it is , removes the tactical approach that players could take before.

The new zombie mode," shadows of evil" is not great, it takes the whole fun out of zombies. Spawning and unlocking the map and then surviving for as long as your could based on pure skill and some luck in the matchmaking. With the new mode, if you do not have a headset and good partners you are doomed, there is simply to much to do by yourself. You are constantly stressing about what you have to do and leaving one zombie alive so you can achieve your goal rather than just worry about survival due to zombies. If they want zombies to be great, just keep it as it was , adding some new features, not changing the whole game mechanics.

The story is definitely one of the more engaging ones, it is not a fresh idea and is pretty cliche, but with a call of duty element which makes it fun. For the first time probably, the campaign is probably my favorite aspect of this game. You can relate to the characters, the is some development and even if it lacks some elements to the characters, the story is definitely engaging.

Finally, this is definitely a fun call of duty but there is nothing revolutionary in this game. You will find many elements from many other games. If this franchise wishes to survive they need to come up with some unique once again to make the series unique. If you wanna play with friends and have a fun time then definitely pick up this games. If you are hoping for something amazing though i would recommend halo or star wars. This game is not a waste of money, but it is not enough to justify the expense of purchasing a brand new game.

I made this review hoping to help people get a clear opinion of the game and i am not biased at all, i have been playing this franchise since the beginning and have always supported it.

Black Ops 3 is the first decent Call of Duty in a long time. The game plays and feels like a Call of Duty game. There is plenty of gun variety, however, the solid gunplay is bogged down by the lack of dedicated servers and the awful lag compensation system. In this era where more and more games have dedicated servers, Call of Duty fails to bring that to the table, lagging behind all of its competitors. This makes engagements be decided by connection far more often than they should. This game would feel and play A LOT better with dedicated servers, and therefore would warrant a higher score. BO3 also miserably fails to upgrade its engine/graphics. The graphics are laughably old and out of style compared to current gen competitors. Graphics do not make a game, but they sure help.

I have not played zombies yet, but I have heard good things about it.

BO3 is not a bad game, but it is not a great game either

The game really shines in it's multiplayer aspect. The guns are fun, and familiar enough to know what I want to use, but different enough to bring excitement in testing different setups. There are new game modes that are extremely fun. None of the guns feel super unbalanced. The only real qualms I have are that there are no dedicated servers, and that the maps look too good. The maps look so good, and are so detailed that it is hard to make out other players at times.

None of them are over powering and requires some skill to be good at them. The maps are fun and now you can swim in the water on multiplayer and shoot underwater too. Nothing is more satisfying than getting out of the water on unsuspecting foe and killing them. Water is more than just for looks. Another year, another call of duty game. Now before you sigh or scoff at that statement, let me say this. Yes it's a call of duty game one of the most popular and hated series of all time. But here is the thing... It's actually pretty good. I've been with cod ever since the beginning and the series has changed a lot while still remaining the same. It's a paradox it feels new and inventive in some places but it still feels like it's stuck in the past. Despite that statement it actually is a very fun game and I had a blast with it and it's one of the best games in the series.

Story: ok here is where I had the biggest complaint. The story is very weird and crazy even for cod standards. There are twists and slit of surreal stuff that I won't spoil but for me the story was just all over the damn place. Playing through the campaign is still fun at times because it is the most in depth campaign cod has ever done. You can make a character, customize said character and outfit them with all sorts of guns and even cyber core abilities that you can activate once a meter fills up. I got to say the cyber core abilities are some of the best fun I've ever had with a cod campaign. There are plenty of different abilities like summoning nanobots to assault your enemies or taking control of robots and drones. It really let's you play the way you want. Even though the story will probably confuse the hell out of you it's interesting to say the least and the solid gameplay and action will keep you going though towards the end it tends to drag but if you want the whole story you'll have to do some research, that is if you want a full understanding of the confusingly bizarre story. Overall it was fun at times and enough to keep me going through. Also when you beat the main campaign you get a bonus second campaign but with a zombie spin on the same campaign missions. It's pretty cool and I'm glad it is there. I hope other developers of this series implement bonus campaigns it's a huge bonus.

Zombies: As with the rest of treyarch's cod games zombies makes a return and it's glorious. Taking place in the 1940s morg city, four unlucky characters get to face off with the undead and some monsters that look like they came from the doom series. It's standard survival fare except way more vast and improved in every way. I'm going to be honest, I've never been good at zombies or finding the items you need to beat it but I can say it's very smart and you have to know what you are doing. That being said I haven't the faintest idea what to do but the more you play the more you'll understand. It's still a blast to play especially online with friends. Dead ops arcade is also back though I don't have a clue how to access it so I can't really say how good it is. Overall a great zombies offering that is always welcome.

Multiplayer: unlike myself, there are a lot of people who get these games solely for multiplayer or the aforementioned zombies. And I can see why Atleast for this iteration in the series. Black ops 3 multiplayer is fun as hell and the most vast mp offering the series has ever had. Players don't get to create their own character like previous games, they get to choose one of 9 specialists each with their two special abilities that can be unlocked. These abilities are great and fun to use and can really help less skillful players. You can customize your specialists by leveling up and there is always that incentive of wanting to unlock the next specialist or get points to unlock weapons and abilities. It's also nicely balanced each ability has it's advantages and disadvantages and knowing when to use them is key. The free running, wall running and boosting all feel smooth and control well. Running on a wall and jumping off to shoot someone is exhilarating. Everything about the multiplayer is done extremely well and I feel fans of black ops 2 will really enjoy this one.

    Verdict:
Call of duty black ops 3 offers a lot of content and maybe more in the season pass but even without that you are left with a very fun crazy and solid shooter that definitely moves cod as a series forward. The main reason I would say this game is a buy for me is the amount of content in this package. You get two campaigns, zombies, dead ops arcade, and multiplayer. It's impressive because no other cod had this much content. Black ops 3 is a wild ride and it's definitely one of my fav games in the Call of duty series. Well done treyarch.

I love the game. So what it's borrowed from other games and is not really "new". All those people complaining think about cars. Cars all use the same basic principles with different tweaks and looks but in the end their job is to get you from a to b. So is it wrong to use the same basic mechanics for all cars on the planet? Isn't that stealing?
No, as long as the driver loves the feel and drive of the car and is happy with it that's all that matters right? I mean just how much more can a car be innovated? The same with shooter. Different maps and maybe history and story but we can't make them any different in reality. Where did Titanfall or Halo or AW get their innovation from? Other shooters of course. It's a ludicrous argument this borrowing accusation because every game in existence has borrowed from some game or other so they are all copies of each other. Live with it.

What BO3 does is combine a lot of stuff from other games and makes it an enormous blast and pure fun to play. Am I enjoying the game? Yes it gets a 10/10 from me like Rise of the Tomb Raider and Halo 5 and Fallout 4. We're spoils with out of this world games when as kids what did we have matchbox toys?

The more I played this the more I realised its brilliance. Reskin? Yes. Every game that's been released for the last 15 years has been a reskin. Only a few pioneer games began the shooters and rpg's and RTS's and can truly be called original. No game that will come out will ever be totally original anymore because it's all been done before.

So be happy and enjoy this classic. Reskin! Yes. Borrowed ideas from other games that borrowed their ideas from previous games! Yes. Until a Martian lands on this planet and shows us a new type of gaming our imaginations just can't stretch any further so we can't blame them for that.

The reskinning and borrowed ideas and story of BO3 all make for a 'new' experience good enough for a 10/10 from me.

Every year I plan on never buying another COD since its decline after MW3, Blops 2 was the major turning point when the series started to show it's cracks. Game breaking lag appeared alomng with maps that stop any type of tactical gameplay and a lack of decent guns in any of the new games. The pic 10 system hindered the game and AW introduced the awful exo suit abbilitioes that have created a frustrating mess.

Black Ops 3 has further shat on the COD franchise with unimaginative maps, boring weapons, horrific wall running and exo abilities and again more of the horrific game breaking lag. It is a disgrace that in 2015 on fibre connections we still have to suffer this lag brought on by p2p hosting. A game that requires such speed and precision real;lty should have dedicated servers!

The maps (if you get to see anything beyond Combine which is constantly voted) are as dull as the maps in Ghosts. Confusing empty spaces with a million ways into a room or to view a flag or checkpoint so you need to have 360 vision to protect your self from the many bizarre angles you can be attacked from, meaning you need either 1. extreme luck to do well, 2. Everyone else needs to be lagging or 3. Camp in a corner with ghost on and a silenced weapon.

The long, often high scoring, skillful games I used to play on mw2 have been replaced by chaotic panic battles that require no skill at all. It's quite sad to know many will never be able to achieve any of the higher killstreaks due to the impossibility of getting more than 2-3 kills in a row.

Even getting a UAV requires around 6 kills??? Which in mw2 would give you a harrior jet!

The game is a joke, murky visuals mean you can not spot anyone and they often spawn in behind you leading to cheap deaths. I feel ripped off buying into this franchise again. £50.00 wasted and actually made me want AW back and that was a poor game.

So buy this if you like playing one map only, enjoy lag, don't like choice in weapons and like the idea of having to get 6 kills just for a UAV.

Worst COD in the history of COD and an insult to the players who made this franchise popular.

RIP COD and **** YOU David Vonderhaar for ripping us all of with a rushed, unfineshed mess!

This is the worst COD since Black Ops 2. Two things are absolutely certain: 1) Blops3 horrible P2P connections are inexcusable; 2) COD games need brand new game engines. Fans placed developer Treyarch on a pedestal. Despite all Blops3’s flaws, fans are giving it a free pass because they hate Advanced Warfare and Ghosts so much.

The positive reactions are mindboggling since Blops3 is the least innovative COD in years. Treyarch didn’t bring anything new to the table, instead it copy/pasted concepts from every other popular franchise. This is Destiny Titanops, not COD. Blops3 is a lazy attempt to appease fans, but in true form, COD fans are lapping it up. This says a lot about the community—the bar for excellence is really, really low. As a result, I don’t take the franchise seriously anymore. It’s cotton candy gaming at its finest.

Let’s talk about the positives first. The campaign supports 4 player co-op. The campaign is boring slog. Levels are large, but bland. The difficulty is artificial since enemies are bullet sponges and enemy variety is limited. Players can use abilities during the campaign to make life easier, and balancing these out among other players can keep things interesting. The main character is customizable, but the impact on the story is negligible. Now that Fallout 4 is out, I’m not putting any more time into the campaign. COD’s campaigns are nothing special. However, players must complete to the campaign to unlock an additional zombie mode.

The Shadows of Evil zombie mode will definitely appeal to zombie fans. However, its core is the same as Black Ops 2, so I can’t say the game is worth purchasing just for that. Although the mode is OK, Extinction in Ghosts is the best co-op COD offered in years. Zombies are cliché, but Treyarch would rather pander than offer something new. For players who need a zombie fix, pick up Dying Light. It supports 4 player co-op in a massive open world, and DLC will drop early next year.

I would talk about my beefs against the laughably unbalanced specialist classes, but Black Ops 3 has far bigger problems.

Graphically, Black Ops 3 is a step backwards. All evidence indicates the engine lags behind its predecessor, Advanced Warfare. Blops3 suffers from severe frame rate drops and stuttering. It struggles to hit 900p and usually remains below that mark. Texture popins and aliasing are quite extreme. On the flipside, Blops3 is bright and cartoonish, and that’s something Treyarch fans enjoy.

These problems obstruct multiplayer in a big way. Distant enemies are impossible to spot. Players blend into corners and can easily camp around objects. This problem isn’t as severe on Playstation 4 because it pushes out denser textures, so resolution and clarity are better. If players congregate or enough scorestreaks drop, frames slow to a crawl. These problems do not exist in Advanced Warfare. Even Ghosts performance is better overall, despite its bland graphics. Basically, Blops3 is the worst performing COD on Xbox One.

The lag is absolutely horrendous. Lobbies do not filter players’ connections. So players with top notch connections will be paired against “red bars” and vice versa. Hit detection is wildly inconsistent. Players experience huge swings in K/D’s because of this. Weapon stats are useless since players are fighting piss poor connections more than each other. “Teleporting” is another problem. Players on both teams skip around and disappear. One player saved gameplay footage and counted 2 second delays at certain points during a match. That’s freaking huge. Activision is being a cheap **** for not providing full-time dedicated servers. Recently released Halo 5 provides an infinitely better multiplayer experience because it uses a new game engine and dedicated servers. I experience none of the above problems in Halo, so that’s where I’m putting my time.

The “arena” mode in Blops3 multiplayer is a joke. Connections are just as **** as regular mp. Players vote on the abilities/perks/streaks they want removed from matches. Yet, players can’t choose game modes. This voting system is juvenile. Competitive games level the playing field by starting everyone with the same loadouts. The voting system panders to tryhards by allowing them to remove abilities they can’t go up against. No thanks.

Black Ops 3 reveals that the community only wants more of the crap Ghosts and Advanced Warfare pushed COD away from. Both of those games were decent, but fans lacked the skillset and insight to judge them fairly. So now we’re left with the headglitching, boring, laggy, campfest COD outsiders mock. Blops3 is rotten at its core. And just because it’s popular doesn’t mean it’s good. McDonald’s was popular for decades, but its toxic reign is coming to an end. We can only hope the same happens to COD, because only then might we see the series truly evolve.

Also, the maps are really boring and grab your tent because once again there's plenty of camping. The weapons have a cheap feel and sound to them too. After about a half hour of playing this I was bored and couldn't wait to go back to playing Advanced Warfare.
Personally I don't see why some reviewers are bashing Advanced Warfare and praising this trash. AW finally breathed some life into a franchise that was getting stale. It has great graphics, good sized maps and plenty of fast, fluid action and some new and interesting weapons. Who doesn't love being able to boost slam or rabbit punch for a kill once in awhile?! Better than the same old same old. People that complain about the Exo suits and flying around are a bunch of whiners that couldn't get past the fact that they couldn't camp on most of the maps.
If AW and Black Ops III were amusement rides then AW would be a roller coaster and Black Ops III would be a merry go round. Personally I like roller coasters..
My advice is stay away from this one.

This week, the game has received 2 update. Both of which have done nothing noticeable. Servers are still terrible, lagg is unbearable and 4 out of 6 matches I've tried joining since the dashboard update have glitched out and the map never loaded. For companies such as Treyarch and Activision, I would have though these issues would be addressed immediately. Bad map design has plagued this game terribly. Every map just feels the same lay out which a center linear path and 2 outer linear paths which different textures and vehicles scattered around. Just lazy map design as a whole.
The campaign is what everyone seems to criticizing the most it seems and I can't disagree. The story doesn't make sense, doesn't follow its predecessors in any way which questions the title of this game. I always play Call of Duty games on veteran mode for the challenge. However, this game felt like I was playing it on rookie. Explains the realistic mode.
Zombies is the only mode that I actually enjoy. The new map is large, tricky and one heck of a puzzle for those who try to solve without walkthroughs. I still think the decision to call the old "der reise" map "Giant" after quoting on release they would be "a classic from World at War" and a "new map exclusive to hardened edition buyers".
Overall, is this game a good game? No. Is it worth buying? Not until the servers get fixed.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. While the idea behind Call of Duty Black Ops III is exciting to say the least, the game itself doesn't live up to the hype. There are far too many bugs to be considered a release-ready game. The campaign is unclear at times and took seven or more tries for every mission due to the game crashing or breaking mid-mission. Furthermore the online servers randomly drop players from your party and display more "unable to connect" error messages than MW3 did. Finally the game brought nothing new or exciting to the Call of Duty franchise other than wall-running. The zombie maps are narrow and zombies in general has lost the tense, thrilling, adrenaline packed adventure it once brought. I'm sure many bugs will be fixed over time, but the game in general isn't worth the frustration it will bring. Expand

Multiplayer is really fun. Most of the maps that were shipped with the game are really fun, from Combine, Hunted, Aquarium to Infection. The new leveling system in MP is way more complex, now making you rely on challenges to get most of your XP, since ranking up is really slow. The new supply drops are fun to earn, and you don't even need to buy them with real cash. All you have to do to earn SD's is play games and earn these things called "Cryptokeys" which are earned from playing and finishing games. Winning makes it easier to earn them, but you still get them from losing matches also.

Zombies is awesome, especially the map you get from the Digital Deluxe Edition, Juggernog Mini Fridge Edition to just buying the season pass, which is the Der Riese remake, "The Giant". Zombies has a new level progression system with prestiging, similar to Extinction in Ghosts, but way more rewarding. The map "Shadows of Evil" is great and adds for a fun time with friends.

Overall Black Ops 3 is one of the best CoDs I've played over the years. As I said before, if you played past CoDs and loved Black Ops 1 or 2 as much as I did, buy Black Ops 3. I give Black Ops 3 an 8/10.

One thing I said before the game's launch was that Treyarch won't disappoint and they haven't. While Black Ops 3 isn't all what I was expecting in that the classic Zombies mode has become overly complex and moved away from its roots, the game as a whole is still very enjoyable. A refreshed and exciting multiplayer that I'm sure will keep any FPS gamer interested for months if not years. A campaign that while still short in length, coming in at 5-6 hours, has seen an unprecedented level of narrative and complexity making it easily the best campaign story in a Call Of Duty to date. And finally a Zombies mode that's gone from a side project to a large proportion of the game. Now including it's own ranking system and many new gameplay mechanics to make the Treyarch Zombies experience that much more invigorating. While I am not completely content with Zombies right now as I feel it strays too far away from it's EPIC original story and I'm not quite sure why Treyarch seem to enjoy going off on a tangent, Black Ops 3 Zombies is fun and exciting, but the best part to it is that it has so much potential and I can't wait to see what Treyarch do with it in the coming DLCs. Until then Black Ops 3 rounds of as an 8/10 but has strong potential to become a 9 or 10/10 with its DLC offerings. Expand

I guess the entire point of a review (at least to me) is to be able to recommend it or not, I'd recommend waiting until it drops down to 49.99 or 39.99 before you buy, it's good though.

The multiplayer game is fun and fast paced. Tactics are simple. You can play your way on most maps. The campaign is a wild ride and truly unexpected, even for a FPS. Definitely happy with this years COD. All the way around.

The singleplayer is pretty awful, but that has been common to the Call of Duty series for the last few titles.
Multiplayer is mostly more of the same, if you liked it before you'll like it now. I haven't encountered a bug as of yet so no complaints there. All in all it's just a CoD game. If you want more of the same purchase it, if you want more leave it alone.

I also heard the Campaign in general didn;t have a great story, I will play it with friends though. Multiplayer, I feel it could use some weapon tuning, and overall connection tweeking. Zombies actually feels great, even with it's change of pace. It feels like the other ones, but with a more difficult twist (Which was needed for me atleast, it got a little too easy after 7 years. Zombies also suffers from connection issues, but only in Public Matches; so it's still very fun to play with friends and alone. Public matches are fun aswell, you just need to hope for a good connection. The new progression system is better then what I expected. Zombies is actually the main reason I've been playing COD since WaW. So I do find the game fun, but it will need some patches along it's season. I'll be staying mainly for Zombies, but I do hope it's improved overall. Besides, I already have a Season Pass and the digital deluxe edition, so I'm stuck with this one until the end. I'm confident on Zombies, but hope Multiplayer gets some proper fixes to it, and this game's connection aswell. I give it a 8/10, but other people raise worries for me about the proceeding games, and if the series dies here, or this one nailed the coffin Expand

Graphically there is can be no argument - the level of detail is much higher. The gameplay is much more refined, requiring high skill to truly appreciate the nuances that separate a good player from a great player.

The single player campaign is deep, maybe too deep. I can see how the average gamer may get lost or confused with the story. They would have been better off making a simpler easy-to-follow story - it is a game after all.

This game is also packed with tons of extras. The zombie mode is great and would be justifiable as a stand-alone product by itself. There is a combat simulator that is somewhat hidden in the campaign that is a blast to play. The Free Run mode will have players obsessing about finding ways to shave off seconds from each run - expect to see tons of YouTube videos.

The thrust and wall-running mechanics are an improvement over the Advanced Warfare mechanics. While helpful for traversal the game is not as much of a skeet shooter as AW was.

Multiplayer is not friendly to new or even moderately skilled COD players. Expect to die early and often in multiplayer unless you are a dedicated FPS player. I would expect some skill based matchmaking but it appears entirely random with 1 or 2 highly skilled players annihilating everyone else. There is a tier based arena mode but I have yet to try it.

COD is not Battlefield. I tried Battlefield and didn't like it. It's not better or worse, just not my cup of tea. COD is more nuanced and finely tuned than Battlefield and is a great stage for really intense competitive play.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III is one of those games I'll be playing for the next decade. I don't see myself going back to Advanced Warfare that much - I actually preferred Ghosts to AW.

All it is now in the campaign is soldiers being Aholes to one another, a female soldier who is a Ahole toward the guys and talks down to them. Fighting within is a stupid concept that devs have clinged to and its old and played out.
Now your character can use the force like Skywalker and wall run like Tfall. Ranking guitar riff should have been deleted it sounds terrible. Some of the levels you play are at night and you have to leave that annoying green scan on so you can see the enemies.
In MP if I die 10 times in a game 5 of those will be when I spawn and take 3 steps. They should remake COD4 and MW2 for next gen and take a break from the creative side of things.

Although the campaign might not be the best story-wise, it's the best Call of Duty campaign in terms of how you play, because it's not that classic train-on-rails style that we all know and hate. There's progression, you pick your own load-outs (instead of being forced to use the random **** attachments they gave you in old iterations), there's a safe house where you can chill. Each mission is more arena-style: you get a big map with objectives and you blaze your own trail.

The multiplayer mode has a ton of content and customization options, with a ridiculous amount of camos, including some you earn by playing Zombies and Campaign. The movement mechanics are a great improvement over the flawed system of AW. They act more as a method of traversing the map as opposed to being a core gunfight mechanic like in AW. Gunfights are back to aim and trigger discipline, same as old. The specialists are another great way to add more choice to the game. Each specialist can be customized as you unlock options via challenges. This adds another layer of depth. The maps are great and all of the guns I've used have been very good.

I can't say enough about the Zombies. For starters, they made it more difficult than it's ever been. Shadows of Evil is a fantastic map. It's gorgeous, it's massive, it's deep. That's all I'll say (don't want to spoil it). The Giant (for those who got the Season Pass) is a great remake of Der Reise. A lot of people complain, "Oh, I want new stuff. I don't want old stuff," but in all honesty, it's a fantastic map to remake and its sorely needed in this game. As awesome as SoE is, it's not a good map for just hopping in and killing zombies for an hour or two. The Giant is perfect for that. It's smaller, Zombies vets already have it memorized and can just hop in and slay, and it's quick to learn for new players. It doesn't revolve around a massive plot. The two maps contrast significantly and it creates the perfect choice for Zombies. I haven't even touched on the progression yet, either. Yes, you have an actual level and you gain XP. And yes, it's as awesome as it sounds. There are challenges, as well. As you level up, you unlock weapon kits. When you unlock weapon kits, that weapon becomes something that you can level up (same as multiplayer) and you can level it up and unlock attachments. You can load out said gun with attachments in the lobbies, and when you get it out of the box or off the wall, it will have attachments on it. It's a fantastic mechanic that multiplies the replayability of zombies tenfold.

It seems that 90% of the user reviews on here wrote off Black Ops 3 for one of three reasons:

    1. They like the old Call of Dutys and hate change.

    2. They accuse the game of stealing mechanics from other games (which is silly, every game made in the modern era will be stealing a major component from another game, that's just how it works) and say that it ruins the game.

    3. They just think it's cool to hate on CoD and do it without really putting any thought into it.

Some of the top posts in "Most Helpful" claim that the game is just a lame re-skin of last year's call of duty with stolen ideas from other games. I say anybody who says that hasn't played the game at all or has less than 5 minutes played.

If you're one of those "stuck-in-my-ways" type people and you only want CoD4 to be rereleased every year, then this title is not for you. It has innovated and changed a lot of things, all for the better. This is 2015, CoD 4 came out 8 years ago. It's time to realize that if that game were released fresh right now, it would be ridiculed.

I love CoD4 as much as the next guy, but it isn't Call of Duty anymore and it's not what we need from Call of Duty. If you want CoD4 so badly, fire up your 360 and play it. Black Ops 3 is not a re-skin, it has not stolen any ideas from other games that haven't been used by a million other developers, and it is not the worst call of duty game.

Verdict: Ultimately, it comes down to "Is this game fun?" This game is ridiculously fun, and it's the first CoD game since Black Ops 1 to make me sit in class/at work wishing I could go home so I can play more. This edition of Call of Duty is pushing to be my favorite of all time. It's not there yet, but I can feel the potential.

I recommend trying the game. Ignore the user reviews. Go to your local video store and rent it. Find someone you know who owns it and go to their house or borrow it, and play. None of these lame, hateful user reviews do it justice. It's not for everyone, but the tired narrative of "CoD sucks" is getting really old, especially considering how good this game is, yet we still have twice as many negative reviews as positive. Look at the critic scores, they know what a good game is.

Black ops 3 however adds SO much to the game It makes it seem as though Advanced warfare was just a template, the maps are better the movement is improved and there are countless things to do. Ever wanted a reason to complete and replay the campaign? How about a new story but with the same key elements and Zombies? Now you can! With added powerups and of course Zombies it makes replaying not seem like replaying! Even with a new story. Actual Zombies is of course back and free with a massive map that is considerably harder compared to its other maps but is a lot of fun. The Multiplayer is made more interesting with Specialists who have different abilities making each matchup different.

Overall I'd say this is a huge step up and obviously when a game does increasingly better than the previous the next is bound to flop. Who's up for Ghosts 2? I know I'm not...So pick this game and pretend it's a 2 year cycle next year.

The game puts on a futuristic theme, playing out about 50 years in our future, making use of abilities such as wall running, boost jumping, and "mental abilities". Fans of the series from the World at War or Modern Warfare days will be disappointed, as this game puts a mixed feeling of part Halo, part titanfall, part Advanced Warfare in a mash up that makes this once simple and straightforward game at times confusing, over able, controller mashing mess. With multilayer enemies fling around, and using over powered abilities, it strays too far from what call of duty used to be. Some may like the new way the series is going, how ever us who enjoyed what it was in the past will be disappointed in what it has become.
Zombies mode is back, however playing online has a few issues. First you may notice more than the max 4 players in a lobby at the time of the game starting. This will result in people getting kicked, leaving the game empty at times. Playing through the rounds you will often find the game shut down and kick you completely.
Issues are apparent in the campaign too. Going back to play previous missions after completing them once leaves players lacking abilities that are needed to complete the game, and game crashing issues leaving players angry and confused/
Some other features include free running mode, where players pass through an obstacle course of wall runs, jumps and slides. The emblem creator is back as well as a custom camo creator. Small additions to the game that most won't care much about.
Overall, this game is better than Advanced Warfare, however, it needs some repairs, and is too different for what some players may like.

    Campaign: 6/10 Fix the bugs.
Zombies: 7/10 Again, fix the issues.
Multilayer :7/10 Works well, but just too odd
Other Features: 7/10 Good, but forgetful.

I think its time to either hang up your pistols on this franchise, or at least come up with a new build from the ground up. The playability of this game is hampered by lag at every juncture. In fact 64 player Battlefield 4 has less lag than 6v6 game on cod, even with multiple nationalities. If you are English, one American or Frenchie in the lobby and its jerk of duty. Once you train yourself to aim a half inch ahead you don't do to bad, except where you die then a guy appears afterwards.

1 - The maps are average at best. to many are too large. Short range weapons are mostly irrelevant. There are more camping corner spots than in any other CoD. Also, not a lot of maps to choose from.
2 - The gun selection is also average. There doesn't seem to be much difference between them. Sure there are differences but as compared with other CoDs (even Ghosts) it doesn't seem to matter which weapon you use.
3 - Environments are pretty but the character animations seem like last-gen. Also, everything seems a bit laggy. Its definitely not my connection as I can play 4 different online games in a day and this is the only one that is laggy.
I'm a fan of CoD and have played every one. MW2 was my favorite. BO and BO2 were awesome. I even thought AW was pretty good. Unfortunately I think this one will go down as a terrible entry. The only reason I didn't score it lower is that there is always the chance that it might grow on me...especially after some DLC. We'll see. I pray the next CoD goes back to some original formulas.

I'm not a cod fanboy by any means but I actually really enjoyed CoD: Advanced warfare from 2014. CoD 4 being my favorite cod of all.
The graphics are pretty good, I connect my PC to my TV and it outputs at 1080p. It looked very good on the 60" tv.

    Now the bad:
This games single player is extremely boring, the story is a total mess and does not make sense. Almost everything that happens, has already been done countless of times in almost every other cod I have played.
Not only did I have to shut off the game after 2 hours due to massive boredom, but I had to suffer constant game breaking glitches and bugs.
The people that are saying that this is worse than the batman release are wrong. Like I said I could run the game on my pc without crashing to desktop, the only massive problem is the optimization (but its playable unlike batman).

What made me realize this game was actually aimed at 7-12 year olds was the script. The elite special forces characters constantly calling rounds "BULLETS" and Rifles "GUNS". That is the biggest sin you can commit in the military and you'd get punishment saying those words. Although most general gamers probably don't care, someone who has served actually gets ticked off hearing that. Especially from supposed special forces types. I can barely live with female special forces operatives but hey is 2015 so I'll let it pass personally. Although realistically it will never happen because the military lets females skip the fireman carry test as an example.

Mulitplayer is the same as always, a bunch of rehashed garbage and nothing original. Definitely do not recommend this game. Save your money and buy something in my USERNAME

This is not the perfect Call of Duty I will admit, but half of you players who commented need to stop hating on this game. It is not a copy of Advanced Warfare, a half wit could know that and yes you can run on walls, that dosen't, mean it's a copy of Titanfall either. The game introduces a good story and at the end of the day who cares about the story anyway. You play campaign once maybe twice and then you play multiplayer. At the end of the day people are still trying to find fault in the game instead of success. They have a better story than before, the multiplayer is awesome and zombies is still cool so what's the problem, I'll tell you, it's the people playing that are the problem not the game. Expand

Worst Call of Duty to date. The game brings nothing new and even that I am big call of duty fan I have to say that I will be sticking to halo 5 multiplayer.

Don't waste your money on this game.

Call of Duty is dead. Basically they have taken a fun arcade style shooter and turned it into a bad version of halo and titanfall combined. Not only that the but controls are clunky as all hell. I have played over 500 hours of COD and usually have a 2.5-3 KD per game, I am extremely lucky if I get 1 KD playing this sack of trash.

    DO NOT BUY

Also 60 bucks for a map pack? **** you treyarch.

As a long time COD fan I join the ranks of those disappointed in this release. The Destiny and Titan Fall influences fall flat and make the game behave like your uncle with a personality disorder. The gimmicky hoodies, the destiny like voice over, and even the soundtrack just don't fit this franchise. The walking on walls just serves no real purpose and makes for awkward map design (curvedAs a long time COD fan I join the ranks of those disappointed in this release. Some of the maps are actually quite promising as long as the color blind guy didn't design them.
I clocked 8 days of game play for aw3 - you won't be seeing for that 8 hours from me in bo3.

A great game despite its flaws. The campaign could be more but still manages to be a great experience if you look past the first few missions. Multiplayer is a blast and makes up for the inadequacies found in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. If you're a fan of Call of Duty, this will appeal to you. While the formula doesn't take risks, it still works.

If you play CoD for the campaign, Black Ops III is a low point featuring a confusing and uninteresting story, poor pacing, cheesy dialogue and over-the-top voice acting that results in a story that resembles what the outcome would be if you dropped the cast of Team America: World Police on the set of Inception or Source Code.

Treyarch may not always hit its targets, but this remains a genuinely fresh take on an old sub-series in an even older franchise. A game as well-oiled as its cyborgian characters. [Christmas 2015, p.60]
